    Great podcast as always. In addition to a two minute pause, I’ve found combining the pause with some deep slow breaths can be very powerful. The deep slow breathing almost immediately quiets my mind and relaxes my body.

      Well said brother. That is very helpful. Gurdjieff's grandfather took the 2 minute rule a step further, he said wait 24 hours and then revisit the problem.

    "Passing clouds on a clear blue sky". Wonderful image! This talk is a reminder to try not to crave, shun or be indifferent. Simply allow rather than react. Easier said than done of course but always worth working toward. As they say in the UK: Mind the Gap.

    Hi Jason. As usual very interesting. In my travels I've had the occasions of traveling thru most of the countries Big Cities. If you take a walk thru them you cannot find one second of quiet, from car traffic, people talking, ambulances, airplanes flying over. Not 1 secound. Even if you read books on Yoga or other forms of eastern spirtuality and greatly desired these paths, it would be a daunting task to find quiet and solitude enough to meditate or be connected to nature when all your surrounded with is visually ugly buildings, pavement and constant noise. Your escape is television or social media where the effort to control you ego and fears is incessant. I have always lived near or around nature. This is what makes my spiritual quest possible. I believe the only way you can achieve that in a big city is to leave it completely. Even if you live with nature as I do, developers are constantly trying to tare it up. Its incredibly difficult to try and follow a path even in nature. You have to commit yourself to not watching Television or domination of social media. Sometimes i think that mankind is trying to engineer it's own extinction with this crap. Anyway there seems to be a growing desire from many to cut these puppet stings. That's where you and people like you come in. Thanks Brother for sharing these wonderful concepts. They do make a difference for many of us.

      Thank you for your wonderful comment brother. You hit the nail on the head. Being absorbed in nature is always an advantage. "mankind is trying to engineer it's own extinction with this crap" this John, was right on. It does seem that way.

    What I find really interesting is that many people found enlightenment within their very own subjective environment and profession / focus on something they intrinsically enjoyed doing. Enlightenment can be found anywhere it seems. As long as you become sensitive to the subtle workings and interwovenness of life by your own individual observations. So even spiritual practise can be almost anything. It doesn't necessarily need to be classic sitting meditation. You can find it in your craft, arts, relationship with people. In my experience it's crucial to come up with your very own conclusions and to trust your feelings (the Tao) over anything else.

      I like what you said my friend. But to be fair, enlightenment is something completely different.

    Great talk as usual! 💜
    I hope you don't mind if I elaborate on your explanation of mind. From my perspective and experience, mindfulness is when we are aware of the mind, not so much of the objects arising and disappearing, but instead, how the mind itself reacts, the judgement, liking/clinging or disliking/rejecting. This reactions are triggered from the karmic sense of I/self.
    Mindfulness is the sensation of pure/ awareness, realizing what we call mind, the karmic node of personal identification we identify with and call "I or self", as an object, from the point of non-self.
    This gives rise to wisdom to align our decision making with the eternal perspective outside the box instead from the karmic personified mind. This wisdom keeps us from unwholesome thinking and actions to wholesome thinking and action. Wisdom is our guide to liberation.
    Let the mind be the object of concentration and be aware of the energetic subtle sensation of that state. When ever you being "stuck or lost" in the mind, you can enter the state of clear awareness by recalling this subtle energetic memory.
    This even works in dreams :)
    Thanks again and stay well🙏

    Many thanks as always, so true about waiting, before reacting and answering, I know that from my own experience. When I react too soon, I feel terible really and then I also have that terrible dialogue with one or more persons, haha. But at least I am aware of it and work on it. Every time I don't react and just breathe, it is best time in my life;) Thanks for this reminder. Namaste x U rock.

    You mentioned how yoga is a dualistic school. But I thought yoga meant unity. So does this mean unity as two separate entities working in accordance of each other or is it the unity as two things become one?

    • @JasonGregoryAuthor
      @JasonGregoryAuthor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Preston. No, Yoga is a dualistic school strictly because Prakriti and Purusha are two different sides of the one coin. Advaita Vedanta is different because everything is Atman.

    Please rename the title as episode 2 etc etc..So that it is easy too follow the playlist

    • @JasonGregoryAuthor
      @JasonGregoryAuthor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They will be in order in the playlist, Karen. The reason I don't put episode 3 in the title is because TH-cam don't recommend my videos with such titles. I know its weird but TH-cam have told me that they don't support Eastern spirituality so that is the lay of the land for myself.

    Guys, see life in mountains is easier to meditate and be inside. Not many people to get one so damn angry and upset 😡Animals don’t make people angry and trees just give shade and waive slowly in wind. Grass is nice to sit on or lie down. Mountains can make more slow to react quickly. 😇😁Everything is so awesome slow and chilled. Luca bro loves to be so quiet and away from damn city when visits the lovely mountains with Bernardo bro. Can meditate and chant Om. Sit at top of world and look down happily. Love from Bernardo and peaceful lucky mountains. 😊👌
