I have this bag from the same seller and it’s great, if a bit expensive! However, I’ve since discovered the exact same bag on Amazon for £14/dollars having spotted it being shown by another TH-camr who said she found it on Amazon. It’s always interesting seeing other artists set ups - thank you for posting. I’ve now ordered the smaller version of the bag 7in x7in from Amazon for £9 - happy painting!
Thanks for the review update. The bag is military so it'll go through pretty much any abuse. It's actually made to stick on the front of a tactical vest (Velcro) and hook to Molle clips. [Next time you watch a modern military movie, look at their vests and you'll see your bag. 😊] Once you figure it out you'll see you can strap anything to it and it'll also stick to most things; particularly Velcro. It's a great kit and I really like that board design.
That's why I love your art travel videos!! The one I most recently watched was largely in your travel trailer and it was super motivating. Thank you for watching!!
Why am I addicted to listening to your chats? Even when I have no plan for the particular item you are reviewing? And the bonus of that adorable Guinea pig with metallic background and eye, plus perhaps the most perfect Tuffy ever??? My cup runneth over.
Loved seeing your plein air painting process!! You got me excited for a minute thinking you were going to show your beautiful face on camera! Lol I agree with you so much, practice is the only way to improve. Loved the painting of your puppy!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the Tuffy painting! It was my favorite to do (the gardens were a close second)! I was scared to show as much of myself as I did! Face will be a scary day indeed!! 🤗❤️🤗
HI Thanks for this super video. Don’t know if it helps but having received this set up and enjoyed it I contacted the supplier and asked if bags could be purchased separately. He said he was planning to do so in the new year and that he was looking to put carrying/ shoulder straps on the bags for better transportation while out in the field. So watch his space on Etsy. Very friendly and helpful supplier as you mention.
I have loads of these types of bags. I bought the majority from Wish some from Amazon but even the wish bags were super good quality. Are usually bags for all sorts camping gear, art stuff and all sorts of things. They are called molle pouches. They are interchangeable couches that were originally made for the army. I’ve been using these for 10+ years. They are super good quality and extremely cheap to buy. They come in hundreds of different sizes and shapes all designed for different things. The straps on the back are designed to fit on tactical rucksacks, then you can build your rucksack up to how you like
Thanks for doing this follow up review i still like the idea of this extremely portable air version....and i like youridea of ease of taking pens put do you think you coyld clip them via a smaller pencil case like maybe a five star school case via a clipon the outside like a climbing carbine hook then when your done on your adventure you can fold and squish it back up inside case? I know the five star small school case we have in usa has three soft loops attach so they could go inside a binder but theose sewed on loops could attach to outside area of case???? Im alawys trying to macgyver things to my needs...still im liking this plien air case....its going on the lottery art haul bucket win list...thanks for sketchbook book tour and honest review and how you really use products in reallyvlife situations thats the best honestly.watched it twice..lol...mikelle art mom👩🎨🎨✍
@@CreatingCuteArt I gotta go and finally order something from Redbubble. I want stickers! I ordered there 3 times and they send me broken stuff three times, that’s why I hesitated. But everyone else seems happy, right? Maybe Redbubble is different in the US? I love chonky guinea pigs and I rewinded like 3 times to look at it 😅 EDIT: How many times can one say three times?
Good review!! It's nice that it's light. I got an Etchr Slate Satchel mini and it's heavy enough that when I wear it as a crossbody it hurts my back. It was expensive, so I'm going to convert if to a backpack, I think. Still a little disappointing, though!
I watched your last video multiple times. It is nice to see a use review. I use a strap from another bag as a shoulder strap. This makes it easier to swing over a your shoulder for carrying. I've seen pen holders that go over sketch books, maybe this coyld help with the pens. I'm like you and wanted to hold my setup in my left and paint with my right. You have the only setup that does this. Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing your art and experience with this super art set up. I have one and love it, the seller is so nice and accommodating. I got the one with the sketchbook and enjoying the paper. Really enjoy your art, well done on making time for art every day, I agree that's the way to improve. I've never done any art before (other than at primary school!) but feel that I'm getting to a place where I'm happy to show others. Loving your videos and your enthusiasm looking forward to your next videos!
Thank you so much, Liz! How wonderful that you are seeing improvement! I'm sure as you just keep going you'll love what you're making more and more 🤗🤗🤗👍❤️
Glad to see you're getting some good use out of it and it works well for you! Loved your paintings! (Oh, and if you want to keep the watercolor from falling out of the pans putting a little water in the bottom of the pan will usually stick it back in.)
Thanks for all the pros, cons and modifications that you shared. Were you using a pearly blue in that last painting for the water? I wonder how you will use it over the next year and next spring. The landscapes were really nice that you showed too! Loved it.
It motivates me to get out to plein air paint more, so I'm excited to see what I can do with it over the next year! I used manganese blue hue and cobalt blue hue, so much fun!
Thank you for the update ❤ this have been very useful as i'm also on the journey of building my own travel set up ❤ my set is aimed at painting & chilling at the cafe and when I not at my home studio in general :))
My bag came with a shoulder strap and i have attached a seat pad in same khaki green to the back straps. Good idea re the carabiner though to attach to another bag. My little pot was not collapsible but small metal container.
Oh I love the seat pad addition idea! It’s fun to get comments like this about how different artists have adapted the set up for their needs. Love it!❤️👍
🤣Love that! I wanted something that allowed me to stand and work with just one hand, and this works for me, but I'm a big fan of macguyvering your own solution! 👍❤️
I actually didn't bring it with me because I had my water brush and rag, but I bring it with me when I plan to do really wet washes, gouache, or regular brushes!

That is such a great idea! I feel like this set up is made for macguyvering, so that's a great improvement I can make, thank you!!
I think I never told you how much I adore that chonky guinea pig! 🥹💕

That's a shame!! I was very tempted based on Sarah Burns Studio using that, but ended up buying this as an alternative. I'm very happy with it!!
This is very practical. Thank you for sharing this product. Your painting is gorgeous as always 🎨👍🏼💜

Very detailed review
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! It’s so amazing.
Can you use the Din A5 easel also with a Din A4 sketchbook?
I've actually never heard of those! On to Google! 🤗😆
Looks like a nice piece of kit, would be easy to modify things that bugged you
I think it will be!! And in any event I've been loving it and really just working to find anything I would change 🤣 🥰
It's too good not to order one. So I did! Looking forward to getting my Khaki bag with everything else in burgundy.😀
Ohhh that sounds gorgeous! Enjoy my friend!
Would it be worth add a pop socket like you get on phones? Does it get sore holding it whilst painting?
That's a cool idea!! I have not tried, I mostly use it in my lap and it just creates such a stable lap desk sort of situation 🤗
Please what’s dimension of bord?
I asked Ian (the seller) and he said approximately 5x5!
Found it. Lol
I noticed the little water cup was missing… did you pull it out for washes?
I actually didn't bring it with me because I had my water brush and rag, but I bring it with me when I plan to do really wet washes, gouache, or regular brushes!
