One thing that screwed me for literally 2 years was not realizing that my gaming laptop had a weird overheating issue that was causing my connection to Valorant to almost imperceptible but truly game breaking lag spikes. My ping would always be excellent (~15-30), my FPS would be 200-300 but I would still get that "Connection to server error" intermittently during ALL of my game and just generally feel like that "Peekers advantage" was insanely strong. I thought it was normal and I just sucked until I tested out disabling some of my computers built-in settings that were causing heating issues and then it was like I was starting over from square one with an actually functioning game. Thankfully those 2 years helped immensely when it came to game sense and maps and movement but the fact that I was inherently screwed for 2 whole years and spent so many games fully inted seeing no progress bothers me a lot. So I always tell new players to make sure the game is actually running properly - watch some streamers on twitch and get into the youtube tutorials to see if you could be inadvertently playing a game with a handicap.
Damn bro, I feel bad for you, I think it's really the worst type of thing that can limit your aim because it's not even your fault, it's the computer's fault, but I'm glad for you you found a way to fix this !
For those who are asking - my computer was using "Rog Boost" to make opening up programs more seamless. But it basically is buggy and overheats the CPU and GPU while gaming and causes, usually, small microlag spikes. Sometimes they were major and I would actually "teleport" because I would lose connection for maybe a second. This feature wasn't able to be turned off because it was hidden so I had to find a guide that showed how to do it through the registry editor. My laptop was going 80C + every game and after turning that off it went down to ~60C and those little lag spikes completely disappeared. Even if you don't have rog boost, check to see if your computer is firing some kind of "overclocking" feature that is used for gaming/programs. It could be doing the same thing. Specifically look up your computer make and model with "overheating while gaming"@@yaywoohoo

Never taken Val seriously before, but decided to start playing ranked and grinding after and before work and focus on improving. Started bronze 2, just hit gold last night. After about… 6 weeks
Damn bro! This is very detailed!!! I’ve been playing Valo for 2 weeks and got Bronze 2 as my first rank. I’m so noob at this (also being a newbie to the game) I never played shooting games other than Special Force way back 2009! I always feel like dizzy with the 1st person shooting games but playing Valo hits different! Thank you so much! This is what I’m looking for! I have learned a lot from this one video! And would probably learn more on your other vids. When I started, I never watched any tutorials but I very much like to play around with bots in any game just to be familiar with the game and the movements. Literally spending hours just killing bots HAHAHA Thanks again bro! Will update here abt my status for a month after watching your vids!
oh my god same i think it would help me a lot if i got good fps because everytime i see an enemy my fps drops from 30 to like 10 so i cant actually hit shots😅
Thanks, Konpeki. I'm currently bronze 2 and I don't really play that well. My aim kind of sucks and I have 0 game sense. With your guides, I hope to improve in the game since this is my first fps and I don't have good aim and stuff!
Only thing I disagree with is the mouse button configuration. It’s preference of course. But also- anything bound to them vs the time to activate or deploy an ability is so small most normal players won’t even see a benefit moving them to a key. Another plus is you have some util bound to say a side button, you can move in any direction and deploy it. Try moving left and throwing a Phoenix Q at the same time. But Omega- you don’t need to do that as you are usually standing still or pressing W! Then I won’t matter what button it’s on as long as it’s within reach then huh. :)
I reall struggle in valorant.being silver currently with gold 3 peak.yet i played high rank in paladisn/overwatch in grandmaster. Gotta learn from this video
Maybe it is because Valorant is a tactical shooter and not only a Hero Shooter like Overwatch or Paladins on which you will be moving and shooting most of the time, also you will need a lot of bullet hits to get a kill, in Valorant with just one headshot you're done, also, moving and shooting is not worth (It works sometimes, but it shouldn't) XD
Another thing is you need to find your quirks and comfortable ways to play the game as in dont copy a pros setting and expect to be great. Many pros and high level players have quirks like weird mouse grip, super high/low sens. Find something that makes you comfortable.
Haven't finished the video, only two minutes in, but the sens thing... I liked going fast in games, (Valorant is my first FPS) and it was one of my first games, so I played for like 4 months on 2000 DPI and 3 sens (Not .3, Just three) Always fun going spin with the small movement of a mouse. Now its .4 with 3000 DPI.
@@MountainPieEnjoyersome of us are poor enough to only have A6-sized mousepad bro 😢 I can't even swing my wrist, let alone my entire arm, thus higher sens is the only way (1024 EDPI here)
Something you forgot to mention is actually LEARN the call outs PLUS actually give coms at all. Its literally dead silent in those low elo games. But then they complain why they cant escape "Elo Hell".
I took a break from FPS games and haven't played since Nov 2023, so 6 months later I'm back. My error is I expect to start where I left off. Not the case. Time to get back to basics, starting with this video and practice.
1. Team up with others in ranked (Playing solo q is literal hell) 2. Play 5 DMs a day and practice aim 3. Watch Pros play the agent you like and copy them This alone has brought me from stuck in Iron hell to Diamond
i am sorry to be the sens nerd and tell you guys this but in valorant sens multiplier 1 is actually 3.2 times your dpi so if you have dpi of 800 and in game sens of 1 your edpi is 2560. if you want just 1 to 1 (DPI)/(EDPI) your in game sens in valorant needs to be 0.314 and then 800 dpi will also be your edpi
One week in and I’m at bronze 3, I have good aim and crosshair placement and game sense, as well as a quick learning ability for map callouts and such. My main struggle are my habits from CSGO, I crouch relatively often and I spray a bit too much. Any tips to break those two habits specifically?
Respectfully, I like keeping abilities on my mouse buttons because I would rather not have to stretch my hand to get to a far key on my keyboard. I keep all the important buttons close to me, and my mouse buttons aren't really a problem for me, lol 😊
Dont say combat arms man... It hits so different from all of these games, all those memories from that game hits harder to my chest than an indian train..
Oh to have time in your week to play more than 3 comp games... Especially if you want to play with friends who are just barely outside the range of ranks you can queue comp with so you have to either 5-stack, solo-queue or they have to go on an alt (which by now are all also outside the range oof, not tryna boost just trying to play with friends)
what if i dont change my grip when i press sidebuttons? i tested it in game and recorded my hand, and realized my grip is pretty much the same, the only thing that changes is the right mouse button grip
I think for me I need to work on valorant specific mechanics. I have great raw aim from other shooter games, but those games played very differently from valorant. I think my crosshair placement is pretty good, it just seems like I get one tapped the second I peek, but when an enemy peeks even if they are full strafing, they immediately headshot me. I guess that means its probably a movement or positioning error for me.
Yo Konpeki even if I’ve been playing the game for a while and am still stuck in silver then should I do that practice routine, or is it just for begginers
I'm going to speak for him, Yes. If you're looking to improve at all, you should have some sort of routine. I'd recommend using woohoojin's aimlabs routine at the end of you matches. Warmup with headshots on the practice bots in the range, then turn around and shoot at the flying drones moving between each shot, a death match focused on crosshair placement, and one more deathmatch focused on trying to hit heads and do good movement. That's what I do and I hit plat last week. If you need help w/ anything like this comment and I'll get a notif and come back to see what's up.
i really have to work on not tilting when teammates are idiots and not buying just bc ur nor topfragging.. and my flicking, gun/trigger controll has to get better
Valorant was the first game I played since my switch to pc and I hit diamond in like a month or 2 then my friends hopped on the Val grind, took my agents and so on😅 now I’m stuck barely knowing how to duelist anymore
naah cant get rid of the scrollwheel weapon swap, always played like that, it would be too much for my left hand to control if i would use 123 for wepons
All these tips but my teamates still afk 3 rounds in to avoid remake and when I duo we go against people above our rank and have teamates below our ranked
i mean i was fine with 1200 edpi for a bit, have since lowered it to ~1000 but it still seems pretty high lol (hardstuck silver/gold who gets a decent number of kills/game)
im using 0.35 with 1600dpi and i feel like any lower sense after 1+ hour causes my wrist to hurt so it might just be personal prefrence on your hands ect.
I mainly play raze and have my satchels on my mouse so I can double satchel well. Since I also like to jump 1-3 times after satcheling to keep my speed for a bit longer i put my jump on scrollwheel down. Since i was so used to using my mouse for jump and satchel i decided to bind my nade to scrollwheel up because my middle finger is always on my scrollwheel anyways. It works for me but you said to not use your mouse for that. Should I change it or just let it be because i feel like with me it doesn't really make a difference.
my mindset improved a lot when i started thinking of gun fights as slot machines, sometimes you get lucky other times you don't oh well on to the next one
me: trying to enroll in konpeki's program my wifi: cant load the 7 min vid without buffering .. im cooked bruh, no one can help me rankup when my wifi randomly decides to just vanish for a few minutes.
