I marshalled a few times at Shelsley in the mid seventies. I was once stationed shortly before the finish line. I had a paving stone to stand on, halfway up the banking. I remember a white F1 crab-nosed Brabham heading towards me as it got out of shape. Lucky all was quickly controlled but it certainly got my attention and digestive system working. A wonderful place is Shelsley Walsh. British hillclimbs are so much more civilised than the rowdy booze fest equivalents in Germany.
