I agree. Funny thing is, by making comments about his race, or surprise about a black pilot, they are practicing "soft racism". I hate to even use that word or phrase, but could you imagine if you were complimented for your race, not your accomplishments? It's really condescending.

People who wish to 'ignore race' have usually never been on the 'wrong side' of systemic or subconscious race decisions (or gender, or sexual orientation, or physical disability, or...etc!). Those who have...absolutely know why the decision went against them...in spite of the protestations of fairness and equality from those who hold the power. It is part of America. It is uncomfortable to discuss race, and it's convenient to just notice the plane, but in 2021 it's appropriate to appreciate the accomplishment of a pilot who has not only done the technical well, but may have overcome speed bumps that others did not have . I'm a pilot too...and I bet you are wondering what race I am :)
Glad to see a video of the Eclipse still in the air. I worked in the factory building and joining the main structures and installing flight controls starting in 2007 . The last S/N I worked on was in the 220s. This video brought back some nostalgia.

Yes world is ain't a fair places but if you work hard, be smart and have a strong value, you could be like this guy, taking his family in a private jet.. Oh yes he is also a hell of a pilot..👍 he is an inspiration..especially in this woke generation time.. You also fly my dream jet, eclipse is a lot better than vision jet, you cannot beat the redundancy of two engines plus I love the cockpit layout over the cirrus, this jet cockpit looks like a fighter jet cockpit, unlike cirrus😅 and more, it can fly higher and also faster than cirrus..it needs to be more represented in TH-cam. 👍👍👍

The algorithm seems to have caught this one--and I'm glad of it! Not a pilot but in my field (classical music) I know how important it has been for new entrants to see people who resemble them represented in the media. I hope your channel grows and it can only help tell the story that aviation is not only for white men, any more than playing the violin is.

Nobody from my neighborhood knew what a cello was. But over the years I've asked myself how many of those people would have been great at any given classical instrument had they been given the opportunity or exposure. I appreciate you and your vision, and hope that it continues to flourish and impact the lives of the under-repesented all around the world! As for the other 2 commenters, think about how privileged it is to be able to pick and choose when to incorporate race into something. Understanding race issues in the world doesn't mean turning a blind eye to race when it suits you; understanding race means understanding that people who don't look like you don't have that some luxury, much to their detriment. In turn, I think it's a bit disingenuous to say that there is issue with the acknowledgment of the race of @Ottopilot when I'm sure race has been the driving force behind many lost opportunities throughout the course of his career. Just something to think about...

That's just me. My skin colour to me is as significant as my eye colour, i.e. not at all.

Very professional piloting! Only thing at the end it seemed the approach was a bit high, which necessitated a more rapid decent and slightly harder touchdown? I could be wrong or it could just be the go-pro lens as I am no pilot. Anyway great job!

It’s a 500 upgraded to a 550. ABS are a part of it but there are quite a few more upgrades to get it to 550 level. This one also has auto throttles.
