Hyouka is my favorite anime ever and it makes me happy that there's still people who care about this anime

I was just saying how KyoAni are masters of small character moments and characterization in general, and this episode/your analysis solidifies that belief.
The amount of detail is incredible and often times way too subtle to catch the first time around. Thank you for doing these and deepening my love of Hyouka

I never noticed the different styles for each character as they're presenting information. Really great video! Can't wait for the next one!

another thing that's interesting about the riceball scene is that Houtarou takes a green one-the color matching his own eyes-and the set that nobody chose was colored brown, which-following this theme-would match up with Satoshi. also note that Houtarou's hand moves last; I wouldn't be surprised if he only picked that particular flavor because nobody else was going for it.

Kamiyama (Takayama IRL) is a beautiful small town which downtown is divided by the river. There's a modern downtown (the roofed walkway where Houtarou and Satoshi usually walk home is the center of), and a slightly more traditional part where the main shrine is located. Eru's house is outside town, as her family is one of the important farmer's families.

Please keep doing this, dude. Your voice is perfect for the job, and your analysis is always interesting! Your style reminds me a lot of Mark Brown's, by the way. (it's probably the voice)

Another beautifully well done video on Hyouka! I am so grateful that you can spot these subtle things and share them with us. Every insight just makes me fall in love with this anime more, and challenges me to spot these things in other anime!
(I still laugh everytime when Satoshi embarasses Oreki and Oreki kicks his bike to stop him xD)

Your channel has great value dude and you really need more recognition for these great videos. I hope the low number of a views on some videos doesn't disappoint you. I promise you'll get there. Thanks for these.

Another great analysis man. Keep the good work.
Also, hope you can recover that Megalo Box video. It is honestly quite good and it would be pretty sad to not see it in your channel.

Never noticed the detail KyoAni put into to making each character have their own unique distinctions to build and reinforce who they are. Truly some brilliant writing and directing going down in this show! Btw, idk if you've stated it before.. But is Hyouka your favorite anime?

That riceball theory is total headcanon, and I can't unsee it. Thanks, XD
It a shame also about Megalo Box. Hopefully, you get that sorted out.

Awesome as always! One thing I noticed is Mayaka pouts right after Satoshi thanks Chitanda for the food. I was thinking it might be because she recalled the valentine's day chocolate incident. Or maybe I'm reading into it too much and it's just becuase Satoshi's research disproves her theory.

Watching this makes me missed them so much and makes me crave more and more for a season 2. 😭
How sinful they are to make crazy for this and then cut my happiness for not releasing a season 2. 😭😭😭

I also noticed the differences in how their character were portrayed. I thought I was just overthinking things. Because of you I am watching Hyouka for the 10th time now.

It is but I think that people are too used to a more straight forward way of showing romance in stories

Your videos are great. Every video brings attention to small things. The best part was that showing mayaka picking same rice ball as Satoshi. I would have never give attention to it.

This is amazing. Probably even better than your other Hyouka works. Keep it up!
On a side note, Idk if it's just me (is that even possible?) but the volume in your videos is a bit too low. I keep having to increase my PC's volume a lot higher than the usual to listen. It'd be great if you do something about it. I mean, your videos are very much worth the hassle but it's something that can be fixed, right?

Great video, but I disagree that the visual representation of Houtarou is "recent", it's clearly 50's through 70's era film-like. But there's a contrast between his and Eru's aesthetics: hers is classic and his is post-war modern.

I think you should use a higher quality source for the video since it looks pretty bad, but I suspect it might also be your encoding setting.
