Great video! I would like to point out that they definitely are first years in the OP, even before Houtarou falls asleep. We can clearly see that he is wearing the first year pin on his uniform. I would guess that they are either planning the next anthology, way in advance to not repeat the same mistake, or getting ready for their next year duty of recruiting people to the club. the second of which we saw is a big event at the first few second of the first episode (all the kids shouting and holding signs to get the newcomers attention). anyways, this whole series is absolutely amazing and I very much enjoyed watching it, thank you so much.
Another nod to them being first years I noticed is Houtarou's shoes (you can just barely see the red fronts as he chases Ibara and Fukube out at the end). We've seen the shoes of second years before, namely in the movie arc, which have green fronts. We've also seen plenty of first-year shoes, which have red rather than green.
I wish the creators of Hyouka and its anime adaptation do another one. This series was an amazing product born from their hard work and it would be sad for it to not be done the same for other potentially great works.
Great job on this analysis! I loved this OP for the creative art style on the whiteboard and blackboard, and that funny bit at the end. By the way, there are some lines written on the Wall Newspaper Club's whiteboard, which mean Kamiyama High Monthly Newspaper Meeting Ideas for next month's theme: - Exams are coming soon! Strategies on the opposite direction of the curriculum - Top 30 items sold in the store last year I believe that particular scene is set in February or March, before the exams of the third trimester.
This is actually one of my favorite anime OPs. I've actually used it's visuals to help express my own feelings of isolation and alienation from others.
I consider this my favourite of two op mostly cause I distinctly prefer the music style of this one over the other. Also speaking as a animation nut, I love the visuals of Hotarou on the chalkboard and marker board, it was really creative. Finally those last few seconds might be one of my favourite interaction with the hyouka group in the series. All in all this is the op that got me stoked for the second season
I was waiting for this review!!!! Thanks a lot!!! I love your analysis videos so much. For your analysis videos have made Hyouka one of my fav anime series. *Edit* This OP is one of my favourites, as the song kinda fits with Oreki Houtarou. With the "Mikansei No Stride" meaning (in my opinion) his unfinished Stride towards Chitanda Eru (referring to the ending of the series).
I'm so early !! I already loved hyouka to begin with and your series has made me love and appreciate it even more ! thank you for all your hard work, I look forward to the final episodes !
@1:50 I guess the stuff on the table is a foreshadowing of the latter parts of the light novel. They'll need to work on another anthology as sophomores, although the light novel will not have that as a central topic or plot, but something trivial. The thing is that I view the way KyoAni ended this anime as not a way to make it open-ended, leaving the viewer to create the ending themselves. Rather, it is their way of passing the ball (fans' interest) back to the light novel so it would gain more following. The anime covers volumes 1-4 and a direct continuation of the final animated episode can be found in volumes 5 and 6. Man, I love how you broke down the series. I'm currently binge watching this playlist.
i think the red blue and green on the chalkboard also represent Mayaka, Chitanda, and Satoshi, in that order those colors just fit with the characters in my eyes
All the things I didn't pick up on because I didn't like the song and slipped it after the first time. ;-) It might not be REAL important for the story but good to know that there is more there than meets the eye. :-D Again I like the ed better both in song and how it looks, I too drew the comparison to holmes and watson but as you pointed out in the previous video about the secodn ed, it makes more sense that it is Poirot. Though I am a big fan of Holmes, I think my favorite crime busting detective of all time for me must be Poirot, at least the david suchet portrayal. (I HAVE read a few holmes/poirot novels and I know that the tv/movie depictions are not quite true to the originals. As an aside, for holmes my favorite is from Elementary, the second and "american" modern interpretation of sherlock. As for Poirot, well duh, anything featuring david suchet! :-P I love reading fantasy and sci-fi but I like live action for my crime fixes.)
God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). We’re not sinners because we sin, but rather we sin because we’re sinners. Sin is the nature of our flesh that we are born with due to the sin of Adam in the garden. For someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless. We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23), and the the law demands death for those who sin (Romans 6:23). God is righteous, so He must punish our sin, which is what He did through His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is Holy and sinless, yet He received our sin when He died on the cross, so that we can be righteous before God (2 Corinthians 5:21). When He died on the cross, He said “It is finished” (John 19:30), which means He paid the full price for all of your sins (past, present, and future) to be forgiven. He was buried and rose again from the dead. God will forgive anybody who puts their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We aren’t saved based on our good deeds, but only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). His precious blood that He shed is the only reason why we can be forgiven of our sins (Hebrews 9:22). If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved (Romans 10:9). You are born-again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and are not only legally justified before God, but also are accredited His righteous (Romans 4:24). Believers live for Christ now, so get to know Him through His Word. I recommend reading the book of Romans and the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and watching Pastor Joseph Prince’s online sermons!
Great video!

Good vid, I enjoy listening to your pov of hyouka. A cultured person you are

Another great breakdown!
Hyouka is definitely one of my favorite anime ,it's beautiful 🙀
While I like the song in the first OP a lot more, this is probably still my favorite of the two for how cool and creative the visuals are!
I need a second season of Hyouka
I'm so early !! I already loved hyouka to begin with and your series has made me love and appreciate it even more ! thank you for all your hard work, I look forward to the final episodes !

Great analysis, as always.

Episode 21 analysis when
You didnt sound quite as excited or animated as usual during the first half of the narration. Regardless, still a masterful video as usual.
tfw some sub-20k anituber has more op analyses in the past 3 months than MB, *the* anime op guy.
Omg, I'm early 😂
Atleast there's no dislike yet
