Actually, the "8-way gate" is the octagon gate. It's perfect for games that are not fighting games. And it's not really a "4-way" gate, it's a square gate. It's a norm for fighting games. The REAL 4-way is either a diamond or a plus-sign...
Thanks for mentioning that they plan on releasing an Elite version early next year. Think I'll get one of these as my first stick. Just need to decide if it's worth waiting, or just grabbing the regular model. Seems the gap between the release of the F500/F300 and their Elite versions was quite long, like 2 years or so, so it's useful to know the Sanwa model should come out fairly soon this time.
Just grab the regular model. The only thing that would be different for the Elite version is the addition of Sanwa buttons/joystick and a new color scheme--and if the F700 Elite follows the pattern of the previous Elite models, I prefer the simple black body of the regular models over the white/gray of the Elite models. If you decide you don't like the stock buttons/joystick of the regular model, they're extremely easy to mod (Mayflash fightsticks are pretty much made with the intention to be modded eventually). You can find a Sanwa joystick and buttons for about the same price as the price difference between the Elite and regular edition, maybe slightly more expensive at worst, but well worth the price over waiting for the Elite version to come out imo.

I don’t have a review unit but I saw someone else’s video where the reviewer made a comment about soldered components. What I saw in that same video, were that the boards had connectors. How the wires are attached to the actual buttons or sticks is besides the point because anyone looking at it, are looking to replace. I will open and examine my stick when it is confirmed that the construction of my device is equal to that which is being released to the public.

Plans can always change - I’m considering modding this one myself. It’s definitely mod-friendly.

I think the 8way serves newcomers the best as they can “feel” all

I was using the Unico ULM 26” monitor. Stands were 3D printed for it as it’s originally designed to mount in arcade cabinets

What about ps2 compatibility?
It doesn’t natively support PS2, would likely require a special adapter to get most controllers to work on the system including this one.
Is there a wired connector like usb?

Seriously? The F500 works fine on my series X. I'm pretty sure it works fine on the series X it just wasn't mentioned in the vid.
