Ok, so i think i know the story: So the world is very modern and more crime is happening, the government need a solution to this problem, weapons is too much underrated, so they engage a super human project with enhanced weapon to take down terrorists. But it didn't go well because some of the Projects become more violent or maybe malfunction than their original "human". So they shut down that Project and the scientist (in the first Project short) and with some of other scientists engage the operation "Project". They start using these enhanced human as their puppet as a method of raining chaos upon those that disgraced them. While testing on some new robotics, a Project named "Fiora" appears to "malfunction" and have emotion, she then know what is going on around her eventhough she lost all of her past memories, she wreck that place apart. A few minutes later, a squadron of bots were sent to kill her in her chamber but she ran away, caught by one of the bots, she hide in another chamber which contains every Projects, she managed to open 5 containers and those were Project Ekko, Project Lucian, Project Ashe, Project Yasuo and Project Vayne. Only Project Lucian back then was be able the fight because he's charged up, others did not have the energy to fight and Project Vayne was presumed DEAD because of the low pool of energy makes her hard to know if she's dead or not, so Project Ashe, Ekko, Yasuo and Vayne went hiding while Project Fiora and Lucian go clear the research base. A scientist near that heard about it and rush an almost finished Project named "Master Yi", but somehow he woke up before the scientist inject a fuild that may contains micro bots which he can control to fight Project Fiora and Lucian. So he wakes up, and don't know what is happening, his defensive meaning back then is just blast the scientist away. His explosion caught the attention of Fiora so she checked it while Lucian prepare the elevator for all the retreat before more bots come. She rescued Yi and both rushed to the elevator, while they were on their way, the struck a high-class Project named "Zed", after an intense battle, he retreated and Yi, Fiora and Lucian regroup with Ashe, Yasuo and Ekko. Vayne disappeared without any trace. While Yi and others find a Project base, they encountered Zed again but this time, he bring a friend, another high-class Project named "Katarina" (from that point, idk what happened). In the same time but at another place, Project Vayne is on the hunt and she got the exact location of an (yes) another high-class Project named "Jhin", the government is not gonna sit around and wait so they suit the captian of the officers with the Project armor and the woman wore was Vi and she got the loaction of Jhin. So when Vayne arrived, she met Jhin and also met Vi, she tried to resonable with Vi but it did not worked as the government command her to destroy any Project unit that she contact with. Jhin wasn't scared, he didn't got called but he know, he know that Vayne will come so that's why he's standing like that pose as we see in the short and so the battle begins... That's all i got with that much information coming from the short, if you find anything wrong or "dumb" in my theory about the story of Project, please let me know :))

Vi is either a vigilante or a real law enforcer trying to hunt down Jhin for just being Jhin, a murderer. Look at Project Vi's recall and you'll see her punching a hologram of Project Jhin.

I love how Vayne's most definetly there mainly for Jhin. Vi's just there to bring order it seems. It is heavily emphasized in how she looks at Jhin and her special interaction "You will destroy us all." at him pretty much confirms this. These are not bounty hunters, as a lot of people think. I think it’s more like they all have their own « hunt » : - Vi -> Tracking the criminals - Vayne -> Tracking the ‘pirated programs’ maybe? If they don't fuck up the PROJECT storyline everybody's been writing up, it wouldn't and/or shouldn't. PROJECT: Viktor is better though, since if he's part of the PROJECT storyline, it would make sense to build more of his kind. People are also speculating that he might've started PROJECT as well as the Mecha skinline.

- Vayne -> Tracking the ‘pirated programs’ maybe? (Like tracking demons but in this project world)

PROJECT: Viktor is better though, since if he's part of the PROJECT storyline, it would make sense to build more of his kind.
