Ebisu Test of Strength Guardians are pretty hard if you are far away from them in the room, but easy close up. Also if you don't do enough damage to them while they charge up a laser attack, they can really knock you back.
You actually unlock the ability to see enemy health values later in the game, I dunno when this health value appeared, but it seems to be unlocked after you get the master sword or something.
Remember when this was the hardest thing in Botw?

Yeah, they're pretty easy when you know how to fight one and have good gear. I personally prefer barbarian armor+ royal or savage lynel gear. I farm white-maned ones since I don't have the xp for silver ones to spawn.
I wouldn't say this one is the hardest, it's actually pretty easy to perfect-dodge his swipes. The hardest one is the one with the gigantic club.

This Lynel is by far a TOTAL JOKE Compared to the ones with the giant ass hammers, they will 1 hit kill you regardless of your armor Value, their weapons deal like 80+ damage, so you better have 100% fully upgraded shit for over 88+ defence + Defence buffs from food or Elixers cause the hammer ones will eat you alive.
Because the Majority of Silver Lynels you come across either wield a Savage Lynel Spear which does 30 damage, and the Savage Lynel Sword and Savage Lynel Shield, the sword being at 58 strength, but the hammer guys can easly push 72 to 85+
And the ones with hammers can break any shield in one hit except the hylian shield
Yea i finally figure out how to deal with the hammer ones forward downward charge, you HAVE to stand your ground and deflect his attack with a perfect guard, extremely high risk cause you screw up you take the MASSIVE damage or lose your shield lol.
One time one of them had A 108 DAMAGE thingy and the 5 arrow bow. wtf
Well i said the hammer ones were a bitch cause at the time of my comment i had a hard time with them, but when i figured out how to deal with their downward strike + charge, they become much simpler, but don't forget if you screw up at all, it's gonna hurt lol.
Kuro The Umbreon Lol I understand silver lynels with the hammers hit hard, but saying that they "1 hit kill you regardless of armor value" is a huge exaggeration. Like the vast majority of players I see, you were probably wearing either the Hylian Hood or the full Stealth set. You probably also had more Spirit Orbs in your stamina rather than your hearts. Smh I see WAY TO MANY people complaining about how they're getting otk'd late game cause everyone opts for damage instead of defense. No one maxing out their armor and just eating ATK up and DEF up foods is sad really....
This is NOT the hardest boss in game. The hardest boss in game is the Bokobolin.

So Lynels spawn in fixed locations all around the map. When I first discovered this location, the Lynel was red. Turns out that the more of a monster archetype you kill, the higher chance you have of running into a stronger version. Kill all of the Lynels you see and eventually you'll run into one of these scary sum bitches lol. This was a brilliant way of going about scaling the enemies in an open world with the player. I have heard people say there are no reason to fight enemies in this game due to a lack of experience points, but it turns out there definitely is. The stronger the enemies, the better the drops. The better the drops, the stronger you get. The "experience" is gained through loot collection rather than given in points. It's such an organic way of going about it, and fits the open idea of this game perfectly.
The experience and level-ups are the weapons, armor, and Spirit Orbs.
Its not the mobs you kill that levels up the entire world, its the amount of divine beasts you have counquered. If i never kill any enemy but still finish all divine beasts, the lynel would still be silver
I think Lynels are different from other mobs. From what I heard Lynels will get harder the more you defeat them, while other enemies scale up after you free a divine beast.
@@kipkap4282 it’s actually both, the blight Ganons just give you a LOT more progress towards leveling up the world. I was able to get all lynels to white before taking on any of the divine beasts lol
I defeated it the first time I saw it, I stayed on a high area then kept hitting him with arrows, I stayed hidden he couldn't find me and I kept doing that until he died. The pussy way but I still got the same rewards.

Music Kid I can take on one wearing the old shirt and worn trousers. Lynels are all about blocking/dodging, and they are some of the most simple mobs in the game for it. Learn their patterns and they are easy street to farm.
I was about to say "How can this guy be so hard? You're making mincemeat out of him."

Mark Torres there is a (in order of easiest to hardest) red, ( the original one) the blue, the white, then finally the silver which is so hard that the silver one should just be the final boss fight and the white one as one of the main story quest fights.
Agreed, he's not as fast as some secret boss, he doesn't have some move that can instantly take your health down. He's just massively strong. There are plenty of harder secret boss..... Like Bass from Mega man Network Transmission..... His attacks leave only one place to dodge them.....

I agree. I actually just got the guide in the mail and it lists Lynels as sub-bosses even though they don't have the HP bar and their own music. quite strange really.
Because it isnt a boss. It is just a normal enemy, with multiple spread across the world. They start off as normal enemies, but after a certain point all of them become Silver and have 5000 health. They drop some of the best gear in the game as well.

Kind of funny how this isn't considered a boss and more like a really tough mob. That being the case, there are a lot more Silver Lynal's on the overworld than just this one. Though I do have to note that this is the only one in game that uses a Fire Broadsword. All others use Savage Lynal Weapon.
After beating my first one (coincidentally it was this silver one) I fell in love with the enemy. The holds-no-barred fighting style is magnificent. Not being able to cheese them to death and forced to fight mono a mono. This is truly an enemy that separates the boys from the men.
But you literally can cheese him to death.... headshot to stun, mount him for huge damage combo, jump off and headshot him again.... Just watched a video of someone cheesing him that way in less than a minute.
Tyler Fischer But that isn't cheese. That's just a string of really tricky moves that take advantage of his weak spots. A cheese death is more like running away like a bitch and only hurting it with arrows and bombs from distance.
Idk. In my opinion, stun locking an enemy to death is cheesing. If you kill an enemy by making it where they never swing their weapon, that's definitely cheesing to me. Just because it might take some skill to cheese an enemy, doesn't mean it's not cheesing.
Pretty sure the Lynels have randomized weapons. Like, silver lynels will always be silver, but their weapons may change
There are more than 1 Silver Lynel. And the hardest one is the one with the Savage Lynel Greatsword
AND how you fight him isn't hardcore player. Try kill it without any Champion Skills is hard, and the Greatsword one does ohnehin with 50 defense

lmao it is not very hard to react to the lynel attacks at all and the windows are huge. The combat in this game is hardest zelda combat of all the titles... but it's still pretty easy in the end. Stop treating it like a hardcore game. It's not

I thought this fight didn't look so hard right until 2:49
it doesnt LOOK hard, but if you miss-time a single jump or parry, death is almost certain. also, he does MORE damage than that, but theres a system that makes sure your HP stops at 1/4th a heart if you take fatal damage at full health.
BX I saw a guy in a live stream face a silver lynel with a giant mace and he got hit once and he went from 27 hearts to 14 lol so they do a hell of a lot more damage than this one
Its's also worth noting the guy is wearing Barbarian Armor, which has low defence for increased offence. Stuff like the Soldier's Armor would provide greater defence.

soldier armor is garbo, barbarian or tunic of the wild are both better, not having any bonus sucks

lmao I just killed him by using the savage Lynel bow (5-shot bow) and about 25 bomb arrows XD. I stood on the third level of the Colosseum and rained death upon him.

so in order to kill them easily you need really strong weapons and bomb arrows.
No, actually all you need is arrows really. And enough hearts to tank a hit just in case (but not necessary). If you shoot him in the face, he will be stunned. Then you can run to his side and press A to mount him and hit him 4-5 times. The hits you do on his back don't affect your durability. Just rinse and repeat. Goes a lot faster with good weapons though.

Lynels are the most fun enemies in this game imo. I learned their attack timings by constantly just side and back flipping without attacking and now can beat em without getting hit :)

This is the first Lynel that I attempted to actually fight. Managed to beat him, but took plenty of hearty meals to get through it and a few good weapons. Glad to see that I got through the toughest one...

this is not a secret boss, Silver Lynel are everywhere. End game farming for high end gear and star fragments... Also, the Colisseum if you hadn't noticed is there to easily allow you to get elemental weapons all in one locale...
1. Lynel's aren't "seceret bosses". They are closer to minibosses. Silver Lynels appear more in the wild (replacing Red Lynels) as you progress through the game. When I first fought in this Coliseum it was a Red Lynel. Eventually, you will only be able to find Silver Lynels. The same mechanic applies to black and silver Bokoblin and Moblins increasing spawn rate.
2. They aren't the hardest in the game. Certainly more challenging than some of the Blights, Calamity Ganon is still the most challenging. The idea of a "difficult boss" is somewhat relative in BOTW anyways depending on weapons and gear each player has discovered up to that point.

I think Thunderblight is arguably harder than a Lynel, but that may depend on your gear. The thing about Lynels is that you can damage them using almost any strategy, but with Thunderblight you can't jump and shoot arrows in slow-motion (one of the most effective methods for fighting Lynels and other enemies) since he's too fast for that. You have to use melee attacks, and since he's small he can fully protect himself from damage with his shield. So in my opinion you can make a case for Thunderblight being harder, as there are less ways that you can hurt him in.
Tbh, I can barely find regular bokoblins anymore. I only find white and silver bokoblins, with the occasional blue, a few black ones, and maybe a couple red if I'm lucky.
Most Bokoblins on the Great Plateau stay red, and also in some areas that are intended to be early-game such as West Necluda (by Dueling Peaks, Kakariko Village and Hateno Village). Also white and silver Bokoblins are the same thing.
more than that, the electricity Thunderblight Ganon produces makes you drop your weapons and shields. Plus you have to break its shield before even damaging it, not enough weapons can cause a really big problem.
True, but flurry rushes help a lot, if you can get one of those the electricity won't affect you.

It's completely unrelated but I've found an Easter Egg. The lakes in Zoras Domain are named Mikau and Lulu. Those are he names of the Zoras from Majoras Mask!

So you know, the silver lynel is actually more of a uncommon enemy. Ganon has 8,000 health,whereas the silver lynel has 6,000. almost as much, but could be considered a sub-boss, like the hinox or talus.
I found this guy quite easy. Try the silver lynel on the Gerudo Highlands. You can't have your normal armour sets since you need to equip cold resistant armour. To top it off, he can One-Hit Kill you if you're not careful.

These guys are everywhere for me. Near the edge of the map i find one every 5 or so minutes if I'm traversing around the edges.

Lynels aren't really a hard boss once you've gotten past the "tests of strength" to show what you know
at first i had more trouble with Lynels than calamity ganon, but now i have been farming lynels because they are so easy to kill
because of the Coliseum and how it's built there are actually certain areas where you can take the Lynel out from a distance without it attacking you with its arrows. that is if you don't want to get down there and get buckwild

Nah... just defeated this guy 3 hours ago and it was actually easier than the first Red or Blue Lynels i've fought before, as once you have the timing it's just dodge, hit, repeat.

I yet need to find the timing for the ones that use 2h maces. All I know is that you need to dodge backwards against the spin attack and to a side for the normal attack. However I find his move set harder to read and he hits like a truck.
Theres one in the far northwest mountains, easily the hardest Lynel i've fought, the coliseum one was childs play after working your way down from the top and getting all of the elemental weapons
There is another Silver Lynel on the mountain at the bottom left corner of the map. He doesn't have a flaming sword, he just has a one handed Lynel sword, but he has just as much power and hit points. I'm pretty sure there are more than that too.

Bull shit, i fought a silver lynel in hyrule castle and one in faron grasslands. Its not a secret boss, its not only in the coliseum. Really not a hard fight either

This is the only location you can find a silver Lynel before you kill Ganon, as silver enemies dont spawn untill such happens.

Theres more than 1 spawn for the Silver lynel thats the hardest version yes. I think all the different lynels have fixed spawn locations, how many hearts you have doesnt matter.
Ive seen 3 versions. Brown common one, White maned and Silver maned. Brown is the easiest than white and the hardest is the silver one.
On a side note... its really wierd that these creatures doesnt get a boss healthbar, they are the hardest creatures in the game to kill. A mistake by Nintendo that might get patched perhaps?
Uhm... this guy really isn't very hard? I've been farming him for drops since day 2. And he's hardly a "secret boss" he's got no Boss HP Bar, and the coliseum is RIGHT outside the plato. all my freinds and I found him right away.
For the record, he's NOT always silver, either. Like all Silver foes he was originally different color before the silver version spawns.
And he may have a lot of health, but his patterns are WAY easier than Ganon's. If you consider him harder than Ganon, you really need to play better.
There's one close to the northwest labyrinth, they're exactly the same and they both have 4,000 HP. Clickbait much?
:P Didja read my post? "Silver" versions of mobs appear instead of other ones if you have enough hearts. Nothing's Silver right away, and the more hearts you have, the more mobs will appear as Silver.

There are multiple of them through out the game. That one you fought was easier than some of the other ones (Then again I do have OP gear now)
For me, after beating that one silver Lynel, they started replacing almost every usual Lynel for me... and I beat most of them xD

Botw was the first serious video game I've ever played, and so I'm a bit of a casual. But yet I've beaten this silver lynel multiple times. I'm not trying to brag, but all I'm saying is that everyone talking about how hard this is made me feel a lot more confident. Thank you. 😭

This was the first lynel in the game that I fought. It took forever but I managed to do it in one try, not realizing it was the hardest boss in the game.
I took out the Eldin Lynel the other day. My eventual strategy was fly up with Revali's Gale, fill him full with as many bomb arrows as I could in Bullet Time, and then use Urbosa's Fury and Parry to keep momentum. So long as you pull back from the explosion, you'll be okay.

Guys depending on when you go to that area its a different level of Lyonel, its just a miniboss, and eventually every Lyonel turns into the silver one, and it's PAINFULL. but the timings get nailed down once you reach the third one and then its just free weapons from there

there is one on top of garoudo mountain by a sword the size of a tower. he shoots 3 arrows at a time and when you try to run away he shoots one arrow straight up in the air.
Kind of amazed you got this far without ever picking up a flameblade.
First few Lynels you fight you are like wtf why is this guy so hard then you realize their patterns and suddenly its a piece of cake to beat them.
One of the white maned lynels in the snowy mountains at the north of the map is harder imo. I go lynel hunting to upgrade the barbarian gear, the one with a giant club is the only one I still have trouble with. The ones with swords or spears are pretty easy.
When I first saw this thing, I thought it was a while main one, but it's health went down too slowly. I killed it first attempt and it was worth it. I got two diamonds and a star fragment for my troubles. Worth it!

I beat him before I saw this video, and I'm at your current point in the game. That Lynel WAS tough, but you made it seem like cake.
Lynels are easy if you know how to cheese them right
1.Approach from above if possible, stun with headshot arrow.
2. Mount and flurry.
3. Stasis+ when kinda close, melee (only need to hit once to mini stun)
4. Perfect dodge his swings, follow up with flurry.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until dead.
The stasis hit stun will happen no matter what move he is preparing. Just make sure you have full barbarian armor or a level 3 elixir/food so you don't blow through your gear and so the fight does not take too long. Worked with every Lynel I've found. If you like farming Farosh for horn fragments, you can also get the Lynel mask to get close up, then stasis smash without the need for steps 1 and 2.
there are a bunch of silver lynels and once you figure out the mount attack (which doesnt damage your weapon) its easy to take them down i farm the north 6 lynels every blood moon and the hardest ones are the ones who carry the giant MACE

I actually did beat this guy after the gerudo titan and i thought "ok now bring it on Ganon!".

Once you get enough shrines completed almost all Lynels are scaled up to silver level, if anything one-handed Lynels are the easiest to fight, for me at least. The one I have trouble fighting is the Crusher Lynel up in the snow fields

Once I killed a Sliver Lynel in the Hebra region, and when I checked the damage on the Savage Lynel Crusher it dropped, I found out that it dealt a whopping 107 damage (Attack Up +29).
The hardest thing I've fought thus far was a Silver Lynel southwest of Lake Hylia because it had a ridiculous 2h mace (97 damage after I beat him). If he hit me, he would straight take away around 20-25 hearts.
Just a tip from a decent Lynel farmer: shooting his head will cause him to hunch over, at this point, you can actually mount him and spam Y for several free attacks. After a bit of practice, I've been able to do a few flawless Lynel fights in a row with this technique. After any long end-lag attack (i.e. Fire Blasts, Roar Jump, or Spin Attack) you should be able to shoot the head. The only problems I ever face with Lynels are the ones with Lynel Crushers because even if you perfect dodge his smash, the force of the blow can still hit you
maybe i've got more of the secret levels up this game has but the white dudes i was fighting are way tougher than that. all the same moves but hit for about 12-13 hearts per.
wait, is it always the same lynel in the colosseum? he was the first one i beat but i couldn't beat the one in the far north, there must be some sort of rotation right?

I beat like tons of these types of Lynels but that one Lynel that carries a giant club is the real challenge.
He made it look easy, but killing these things are just time consuming and destroys a lot of weapons if not careful. Good job
actually, if u go to this location quite early (with only few shrines unlocked, few koroks and upgrades), there'll only be a red lynel there. with that said, this guy isn't so though cuz all of his attacks are flurry-able (unlike the mace and spear-wielding lynels).
So I went to the colloseum and all I could find was a white haired lynel. is there anything special I have to do to get the silver one to spawn?
