- There is 2 ways to get the shield and I show you both. For this you will need some arrows in order to fight a mini boss. The hylian shield IS breakable, however there is a rumor going around that if you buy and repair a town a merchant will move in there and he will sell the shield.
I know how to summon rain in this game. All I need to do is start climbing something on my way somewhere important. Works every time.

For anyone who doesn't want to use the Hylian shield because "it might break," think of it this way. The second best durability is 90, and it last super super long time before it breaks. This has *800* durability. It won't break until you get to the point where you can just buy another one.

I have measured it at 36 blasts or so. It took so long even with the guardian shooting at it, that a Yiga archer appeared *and* was killed by one of the guardian's lasers deflected by the hylian shield way before it broke.
Plus, if you manage to break it, you can actually buy it for 3000 rupees from a guy at Terry town.

I always combo the Hylian Shield's appearence with the Master Sword in every playthrough I get it. Just both the sword and shield being on my back is very satisfying to me

You don't have to climb the pillar at all. Go to it and jump from the right side of the base. You're already more than high enough.

For anyone worrying about the shield being breakable, it takes AGES to destroy the Hylian shield in this game. It can tank numerous guardian lasers without perfect parrying, which would destroy legitimately any other shield in the game in a single hit
3:45 if you just use your round bomb inside the back part of the cart it will propel the cart forward. You don't take damage at all. Using the stasis rune just unnecessarily destroys your weapons faster. Also having Ravioli's Gale will make climbing the pillar so much easier.

You don't need to climb it. Run along the wall to the base of it. Build a cryonis tower out in the water and paraglide to it. Build a series of cryonis blocks to the little ledge leading into the west passage. The area isn't covered by any of the Guardians.

1.) You can literally swim to the entrance.
2.) The mine cart has the cage specifically for round bombs.
3.) Once you have it, you can purchase a replacement from a salesman after you finish the Tarry Town quest.

Once you get it, you can buy it if it breaks! When the Tarrey Town is fully built, a merchant named Grante will appear on the roof of one of the buildings, and will sell you rare unique armor you've found that cannot be bought elsewhere - and this includes the Hylian Shield!

Homie, when you're at the base of that tower, just move to the right side near the cliff. You can paraglide to the opening without having to climb to the very top. Other than that awesome guide.

This game rivals OOT in my opinion...but this breakable thing is a pain in the ass to no END. Great system with food/stamina/health and loving the shrine thing and the fast travel they offer...but the weapon system is broken when A, players spend as much time in their inventory during combat as they do fighting or B, are afraid to use good weapons they worked HARD to get for fear of them breaking. Later stage game play has a rechargeable weapon, early stage should as well.
IMDARKFIRE007 the thing about weapons breaking fast is that it encourages the player to explore more which is a good thing imo
IMDARKFIRE007 if it wasn't for the breakable weapons, this game would be way to easy. It forces the player to be more selective with what weapon to use on what enemies, or don't use weapons at all. Otherwise I'd be running with ancient battle axe ++ for the rest of the game, occasionally switching to elemental weapons and wouldn't need more than 5 slots, making korok seeds chasing pointless.
No OOT time had a great story, heart pieces and unbreakable items!
Z1LL4 JR This is, at its core, the best Zelda game. Its the Zelda game that took the game back to its roots (an open world). And i personally like the breakable items. I became a hoarder because of it lol. My only problem is that the game only gave us 3 racks for each type of equipment.
Chicken Nugget I’d rather it was like AC Origins. The weapons don’t break, but you can upgrade if you want. Breaking weapons just wasn’t realistic. The master sword needed to be recharged too quickly also.

Why does everyone say Hylia like Hill-ia? Hyrule is said like High-rule. So it is High-lia. Simple language rules. Also the suffix is said weird by people as well.
Hylia/Hylian: people say it like Hill-lay-enn. Or Hill-lay-yah. It is said High-lee-ah / High-lee-ann.
Look at libertarian or millenarian. Perfect examples. The suffix is pronounced ee-ann.

I got the paraglider in master mode and rode a horse right to the west passage of the castle. Now I've snatched the hylan shield and all the bad ass weapons and bows in the castle with just 4 hearts. Hell of a way to start off master mode!

1. I now know you can put bombs in the cart
2. Climbing the pillar is OPTIONAL there are many ways to get into the castle. I prefer the pillar.
3. As stated by Raven Strahd "There's a north entrance behind the castle that is much easier to reach. The guardians are practically nonexistent on the north side"
4. i know I mispronounced Hylian, I'm sorry but I've never heard that specific word pronounced.

Giani Morones You have to rebuild a town called Tarrey Town, the quest that you get is called from the ground up
Pro tips: you don't need to climb the pillar. there's a boat to the north you can use to navigate across.
You can cheese the Stalnox by hitting it in the eye with a bomb arrow, which causes the eye to fall out immediately.
You can actually drop round bomb in the back of the minecart and detonate it, it will push you without taking damage

just as a notice the your own town thing he was talking about was the terry town quest line which unlocks after you buy the house in the village south of the zora domain (forgot the name of the village) then you have to talk to one of the carpenters of the house Hudson wich will start the quest line and once you finish you can talk to a merchant on one of the houses who will sell you some neat armor and the hylian shield for 3,000 rupees

You're leaving out the fact the people who do 3 heart runs etc. also practiced the game 10+ hours a day and some had the press version before release. For example the flying guardian sentries take 6-7 perfect parries to be killed, good luck timing them all perfectly as a casual player. There is a 0,1 second window when you can do a perfect parry or the shield breaks/you take fatal damage. At least Blade Flurry is a bit more forgiving but it's still difficult for casuals.

What I feel like a lot of people don’t realize is that with the minecarts you can just put sphere bombs in the little cage and it goes on it’s own.
I like how when I first saw this video I thought the Stalnox fight is going to be hard but I just killed it under 5 seconds with Urbosa’s Fury lmao, easily the best champion spirit in the game

for the cart, you're supposed to use bombs to make it move. really saves weapon durability
i used the master sword during the entire guide cuz i knew it would help with both durability and the stalnox. the stalnox took like 30 seconds with the master sword, i'm not even exaggerating

Yeah, but you can get a replacement if you do the sidequests to buy the house in Hateno Village and then the following quest to build and complete Tarrey Town at Lake Akkala. If you complete both quests, then there will be a merchant that moves into one of the houses in Tarrey Town that will resell any unique gear you find during your quests, including the Hylian Shield.
it also takes ages to break as well. apparently, it has a durability of 800 or something

I speak spanish, but I play in english. The names of everything are so different, that I call crysalist, ice cube or hielo the cryonist rune. The same goes to Tarrey. It's Arkadia in spanish, so when I went back to english I couldn't find it 😂

You'd think that the Hylian Shield would be unbreakable, same as it's always been in every Zelda game. At least since Ocarina.
Or, at the very least have a recharge state/cool down period like the Master Sword, during which you can't use it......But at least they provided a means to replace it, I guess....

The carts are meant to be propelled with bombs in the little cubby on the back. it's also faster

Link, The Hero of Valor Typically the Hylian Shield is just some generic shield purchased at the shop.
The only time the Hylian shield was unbreakable was in skyward sword. In Ocarina of Time is was just a regular shield that the knights of hyrule used and you could buy it at any store since you could get it stolen by enemies.
It's to keep Link from being super OP.
