To me, this is the episode that takes this show from very very good to great. Ted's humanity is laid bare, Rebecca called out by her friend, the team surviving without Jamie, Nate faces his fears, etc. All the humor and the humanity all wrapped up in an amazing 30 minutes.
And Hannah Waddingham is our QUEEN. Before Ted Lasso (and GoT), she was a star on the West End - that amazing voice in Karaoke was all her.
My first panic attack I legit thought I was dying. It is NOT a pleasant experience. I love that the show talks about mental health but specifically how accurate the panic attacks are.
My first one as an adult was similar. We aren't alone.
Same. I was convinced I had a fragile heart & I ate half an thc-a edible. I usually have handled thc well for years, but for some reason this one messed up all my senses, made my chest feel ice cold, & made it difficult to breathe.
I was worried I was having a heart attack & if I drifted to sleep, I would be dead. I was (literally) fighting for my life to stay awake after I took a Xanax earlier to calm down. The EMTs said my heart wasn’t under any immediate stress but I was still convinced they missed something.
That thought is the difference between A panic attack and panic DISORDER. It's called "catastrophic misinterpretation of symptoms". Your heart rate starts going up or your chest gets tight and you think "oh god I'm dying", which make you more anxious, which makes the physical symptoms even worse, which makes that thought even stronger, and it just goes up and up.
Hannah Waddingham is a musical theatre QUEEN?! Forever in awe of her talent! 💜

Yup. Not only is that her actually singing, that’s her deliberately singing much less well than she can because she reasoned that she might be a professional singer but Rebecca’s not.
Hannah Waddingham is a classically trained theatre actor who had to often perform musicals, and yes she can sing.

Leslie starts dating her soulmate in season 3, and Ron meets his match in season 5. I saw you wrote in another comment that we are ignoring the signs, well maybe you're over romanticizing a friendship.
As Boss and an employee of the opposite sex can be friends without getting together, just a thought.

Bronson Webb aka Jeremy (one of the three fans at the pub) is also a Game of Thrones alumni. He's the Night's Watch brother who deserts/flees and gets beheaded by Eddard in the first episode. He's also been in 2 Batman movies. The Dark Knight and The Batman where he got his face smashed in by adrenalin/rage infused Batman!
He is great on Ted Lasso. I love the trio at the Pub.
Yeah, I don't think you can have a show with British actors and not have at least a few that were on GoT. Everybody was on that thing at some point.

I think too many people tried to get invested in a Ted/Rebecca thing, when, in fact, the two leads don't always have to will they/won't they with each other. Sometimes it's okay just being friends.
People always bring up the 'in general' thing. And yeah, of course, in general leads don't always have to get together, and there can be platonic friendships. But it's not about the in general. In this SPECIFIC case they definitely set up the possibility and there for sure is something to be seen there, even if it ended up not being. (and being better that way)
I'm glad nothing happened to be honest, I never felt the (romantic) chemistry between Ted and Rebecca and loved them more as friends.

Lol because the writers were intentionally setting up like Rebecca thinks about Ted before and made us think it would be at the door. And they have so much more connection then “they talked once”. They wanted it to be a surprise for audience.
@@Wiley_Coyote no one except rebecca (with whom he now has strong friendships and many parallels in life that connect them) іs a good idea. you guys are obsessed with the fact that their relationship is not so openly written and there was no physical intimacy, so you keep saying that as if friendship is not the best foundation for a healthy relationship. They are setting up this connection all season but you’re ignoring it. Even in this episode they wanted rebecca at his door, but changed it because “they’re too important”.

I was sincerely hoping Ted and Rebecca stayed friends only, so I find it very interesting your reactions and thoughts on it. I LoVE their friendship though, which often much underrated in media.

Aw dude. You stopped watching because of Ted and Rebecca? Weird. Ted is coming off of a divorce and not even thinking of starting a new relationship and Rebecca has shown no romantic feelings toward Ted. They're really just friends at this point. Sassy told Rebecca what she was up to and she didn't seem to have a problem with it. I was surprised by Ted being angry at Nate and the panic attack this episode, but I could totally understand it.
Now Roy and Kheely I could totally see hooking up. They were telgraphing that a mile away. It was strange that he walked her all the way to the door and even with the invite, didn't do anything. Guess we'll find out next episode...
Jeffrey Moy technically, Ted and Rebecca aren't even friends yet. Rebecca is trying to be just a fake friend now. but a real friendship starting. Gosh, i want them to be friends. not a couple.
Regarding Pat's whole argument about not wanting to be with someone who your friend had a on night stand with: I think it honestly comes from toxic ideals about masculinity and virginity. For a lot of men, thinking about having sex with someone who's had sex with people you know, or even just the idea that they've had sex with other people, is hard to deal with, because there's this unhealthy artificial value placed on women's sexual "purity".
But I don't think that it's the same in reverse. I think it's much less common for women to feel that same reluctance or disgust. Because, as bad as it is, society places different expectations about sex on men and women. Men are expected to be extremely sexually active with multiple partners and with little value placed on the actual act beyond carnal enjoyment. And women are expected to be completely abstinent except with one or two partners in their life, and their "purity" can somehow be "ruined" by sex.
I had a mild panic attack on The M25 motorway,3 years ago on the outside lane of a 4 Lane motorway when I realized I had a dodgy tyre,a far wing mirror that was not aligned, and the Guy in the 3rd Lane was going equally as fast as me at 75+ Miles an hour and there were no spaces behind him and cars were getting closer to me in what is, the OVERTAKING lane and the lanes went off at a right angle.I sweated and put my foot down and at 85mph I moved over though my visibility was not 100% but I never went in the 4th lane on The M25 for 18 months after that and now at 69 years old(next month) I realize I don't need to take silly risks to save one or two minutes. First one in 40+ years driving.

And what Nate says to Colin, specifically, hits different again knowing what we learn about him.
I remember watching season 1 for the first time. I gotta be honest with you, at this point in the show I did not ship Rebecca and Ted AT ALL. I thought the vibes were very much platonic, and that they worked best as just good friends. (For the sake of Spoilers, I won't say whether I still feel the same way after 3 seasons).

Am I the only one who never saw Rebecca and Ted together? Like I never saw them in a romantic way and since watching the reactions I still don't see the romantic thing they're seeing.
I don't think it is so much that people saw them being romantic as much as they settled into the expectation that "here are two opposite sex lead characters in a comedy tv show so lazy writing tropes mandate they must get together at some point." Others may have not seen the romance but wanted it as they are two great characters so they wanted to ship them.
Btw, Ted and Rebecca is the true definition of a Brother and Sister bond between friends, so i thought Sassy would definitely be the one fooling around with Ted once they lightly flirted at the front desk

Dropping a great show which offers soo many things only for a romance not to happen! That seriously makes me doubt Pat's ability to understand and consume a show properly. Because if he doesn't value the other important matters of the show then all his reaction to watching the show is just fake.

Regardless of whether Ted/Rebecca are platonic or romantic, if they'd fallen in love, I don't think Sassy would have a problem with it. He's a brief fling to her - if she thought he was The One for Rebecca, she'd be the first to tell Rebecca to go for it. Navi is right, you don't throw away a deep connection, just because your friend had meaningless sex with them before you even got together. Not saying Ted/Rebecca is romantic, but if it was, Sassy wouldn't be a problem.
As much as the series makes you cheer for Ted and Richmond FC, I couldn't help but want Everton to absolutely smash them. UTFT

I'm really glad that Ted and Rebecca stayed friends. I didn't want to see another show where the two main casts (male and female) end up being together. Their friendship is just so heartwarming and it's refreshing to see two main characters of the opposite sex just being a great friendship to each other.

That's not the typical way, you sign a three in Europe...
if you had a one night stand with someone there is only a physical connection. If you had anything else, you would have a relationship not a 1 night stand. One night stands are just a physical connection for that night, releasing some stress and having fun. That's it. You don't even have to know their name, or care about them at all. Plenty of hook ups at the beach with people for the weekend that you never see again. Last name? who knows. Married? probably, who knows. Might have kids, who knows. Weekend is over, don't worry about them again.

Ted and Rebecca are going to set absolutely the highest standard for the type of relationship they have... but don't put your own thinking against the writer's room of this show. IMHO, this series is the very best written comedy show in the entire history of television - THE BEST.
I honestly hated this too I wanted ted and Rebecca to be together at this point of the series it made sense to me

Honestly as I've watched the show I never thought of Ted and Rebecca as a romantic connection. It just seemed weird to me and her other love interest that she eventually got in season 2 I was actively uncomfortable with and still am but I am happy just to see a healthy friendship blossom into people caring for each other without it needing to be romantic I also think that needs to be something seen in media more often to be honest.
