I love when one of the original artists plays with a band that makes a cover! Sadly, I just learned about Volbeat about 2 months ago. When I heard the name I literally laughed and said that was a stupid name. However, I heard the song Shotgun Blues, which made my head bob... When I realized I thought the band had a stupid name, I heard the same shit I loved from Master of Puppets and looked at myself and said "Why the Fuck did I laugh at a name without even listening to their music". I can say, and I hope you believe me, that I am sooooo glad I checked out Volbeat. They have literally become my favorite band. I have not heard of a band that has the grinding guitars that I got during my high school years since literally the nineties... Metallica were the Gods of the nineties. Volbeat (notice I capitalized the name) is the Metallica..... No, Volbeat IS THE Metallica of Today!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do not check them out... Well, please do not make the same mistake I made. You will love them!!!
Rubato? Feel? Not very tight? It doesnt really matter when he is that great at creating. People commenting on his timing is those you cant create anything themselves or just really dont understand the importance of that priority. It does not mean that you cant compose and be tight, but take it or leave it. Look at his career and try to do it better - I am sure that it only takes being a tighter drummer :)

Hah, interesting. It's lovely how great musicians enjoy playing each other's music! It looks like James sings the higher notes more accurately. ...but for their own songs, Volbeat are just as brilliant. Lonesome Rider is my favorite!
@@denmark2680 yeah he's Danish but his family migrated to USA long ago and became a US citizen ever since.He told it when he toured to his school back in Denmark with the Metallica lineups (James, Kirk and Robert).

Lars was having the same dream and he trained in the US, but he found out that he’s talent didn’t reach. He advertised in a newspaper for band members to start a heavy band, that was how he was getting in contact to James. Lars is still Danish, and he’s going back to Denmark very often and he see himself as Danish. So yes what i have been writing is 💯 percent correct!!! 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰😋

why aren't they doing these for other best albums from that era? metal covers for Radiohead, metal covers for alice in chains, guns n roses, smashing pumpkins, nirvana, Soundgarden, etc
You can clearly hear the influence that Metallica, and James Hetfield's voice in particular, had on Volbeat's sound...so it's kinda on the nose that they would reach out to them for something like this
Of all the songs they pick this one. Like I get that it’s popular so the chances are more people will know it and go nuts. But be ballsy and play an older song from like the first two albums. Not the god forsaken black album. Or anything after Ride the Lightning. Still love Volbeat though.
