Great start Dave. I was a little lost with the flange thing but soon got up to speed. All makes sense. When my donor roof was cut out they didn’t supply that plate at the front, so it’ll have to see what I can find out regarding measurements 🤷🏼♂️ I’m sure you know, but in case I forget, plus you’re not there yet, make sure you run the drain tubes from each corner 👍🏼 When you do can you film where the front ones exit, coz I’m not 100% sure. Slades looked great, good location and nice and chilled, my kinda thing. Phil
Yep, I left the flange, sheet metal around the donor roof and overlapped it on my 72 roof. Then cut through both so in the end it would only have one roof skin like factory. I won’t be running the drain tubes till after paint but I could imagine they will exit behind the front wheel wells. I’ll have to find out where the factory ran them. Have a great weekend buddy.
You look in physically great shape Sir you know how to improvise commonly needed when working solo too don't you just love VWs, let me guess your favourite VW colour thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Russel I’m not the greatest explainer, I hope you are able to pick the instructions up as I’m working but if you ever have a question about this or any project please ask. Even if it’s something altogether different that you run into. I’ll try to help out. 👍🤓 Blue but this bug will be painted a Chevy color. Butter nut, my girlfriend picked it. You can drop the sir, I’m Dave .👍
Hello Jason, hope you’re doing well. Good to hear from you. Thanks for the awesome comment. I’m happy to hear you enjoy my videos. I enjoy making them and texting with great people like you. I do enjoy what I do. Thanks buddy.
Ha , thanks buddy. It’s all a learning lesson from projects in the past. It reminds me of a saying from and old work buddy. He used to say nothing is easy and its the same but different. I am having fun. Although today is an off day. For some reason I don’t feel like doing anything but nap and eat candy. Have a great weekend buddy.
I’m always full of anxiety energy when doing something new. I believe getting out of our comfort zone helps us to learn and enjoy. Thank you very much for your nice comment and support. 👍
It was sooo nice meeting you guys. I love working with metal and fabrication. I’ve done it my whole life. But when I need technical assistance I’ve been getting it from you guys for a long time. Slade is the first one I go to. I believe his website index will be great help for all VW enthusiast. Enjoy your weekend.
