      yeah but that money was EARNED by United through ticket sales and such, you forget United is one of the most popular football clubs in the world if not the most popular. That money was theirs to spend and they spent it wisely. Unlike City’s infinite foreign money pool.

      This “spending” thing drives me mad. People look at net transfer spend or, worse still, don’t even take outgoings into account. But wage bill is hugely relevant also. “Spend” should account for annual cost of the playing and coaching staff on any given season. Ferguson was a great manager, but to suggest he was doing it all on a mid table budget in the 90s is farcical

      @@Terminator6364 did you hear what he said ? Maybe listen carefully, no one is doubting his ability as a manager but the success at City is build on a foundation which was sort of shortcut, maybe if he had tighter budgets he would have taken more time… these are all what ifs but it sure does make a decent point that 115 charges do play a significant role if we’re talking Pep for PL alone… but never in doubt Pep is amongst the best managers in football history.

    • @tomben6180
      @tomben6180 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@limi.First of all none of the charges are proven and the leaks this week suggest City will be cleared within the calendar year 2024 but we’ll have to wait and see. I agree with Carragher, nearly all of the charges, the most serious ones anyway, are pre-Pep.
      What it’s done, if City are guilty and it’s a big if right now, is drag them up to compete with the top 4 and build a foundation to go and get Pep.
      If Pep went to Chelsea, Utd or even Arsenal… he’d have had at least a similar budget to what he’s had. Since he’s been there those three clubs have spent more.
      It’s not his fault if the side he chose to go to had accounting breaches before he arrived.

      @SwingingLeft If you've heard about how he left the club, you'd understand his animosity & not post your comment. I can only assume that you haven't heard what happened & I suggest you hear his explanation and then you'll understand his stance towards Ferguson.

    To answer Carraghers question as to what you need to do to get first over Fergie in the top 5 managers in the prem is to win the Prem with 6/7 academy graduates. Its one of the most underrated achievements that people forget about. If Pep wants to beat sir Alex to first place, win the league with 6/7 academy players in the first 11.
