The Fastest Show on Water

SAN ANGELO, TX - Celebrating its50th anniversary this year, the Southern Drag Boat Association marked its 20th consecutive year at Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo, Texas.
The Matt Cutrer Report proudly sponsored the Showdown at the Spring Creek Marina over the weekend, providing exclusive coverage of the event. Our coverage included interviews with competitors, spectators, and action-packed footage of drag boats hitting speeds up to 260 mph on the water.
Throughout the event, a prevailing theme emerged as we spoke with pilots, crew members, staff, and attendees alike. Many expressed that the SDBA fosters a familial atmosphere, often described as a supportive community where generosity and camaraderie abound.
“We love being a part of such an inviting, welcoming, and supportive culture with people that will literally give you the shirt off of their backs,” said one enthusiastic attendee.
From our arrival, we experienced firsthand the warmth and support of the community, receiving nothing but kindness, respect, and hospitality.
Dubbed the “fastest show on water,” the SDBA’s Texas circuit will continue with its next event scheduled in Waco, Texas, on July 20-21. We eagerly anticipate our continued involvement with this newfound family.
