    I kind of like the upbeat music, I feel like it reflects your keep moving forward motto, so even though some depressing things can happen in your videos, you look back on and remember the happy times instead of when you were at your lowest. Stay strong!

      @trishab2147 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! And people come here from all walks of life too so I feel like the music should be happy music because I'm sure not all viewers have had the best day ever.

      I agree and for me the happy music always reminds me that no matter how hard things may be we'll be able to move forward in a "everything will be okay" kind of way :) so I really like the current music but I'm sure you're gonna find one that suits the new intro as well :D love your videos anyway!

      I usually fist bump and raise the thumb when she does. Although it was always curious why she introduces Harlow before Judd (although I mostly watch the videos for Harlow). I also notice that in the end of the intro, she kisses Harlow, and Judd kisses her and Harlow.

    I love the going on an adventure and then your hands are cold, always cracks me up. Lidocaine wears off really fast with my EDS also I always tell them you have to work quick. I also end up with blisters after. Ativan is given for anxiety usually use in hospital as the first end they try. I’m sorry you have to go through this. Hugs glad they are taking care of this. I know I'm late on catching up with your blogs...it's been a rough week/weekend, but still wanted to comment. I'm glad your ER trip wasn't as bad as you expected, but so sorry you had to go in the first place. I know it's crazy, but I am so sad to hear you are changing your introduction and nervous to see what is in store. Please keep in mind that what keeps us coming back to your channel is not only that we feel like we've gotten to know you and care for you and your well-being through your day to day life, but also the hope and cheer that you share for others. You move on when things get rough, you laugh, and you enjoy life despite what you have to endure in between. Your adventures keep us moving forward. When you change the intro to portray all of the ups and downs in life, please don't forget the cheer and laughter that you share.

    My dad was a pilot and we had a 1/4 share of a private Cessna (a 177RG). I had a bad abscess on my stump (I'm an amputee) and as we started to fly home it started hurting as we were climbing out and the pressure changed. Then it exploded. Nasty, but it felt better.
    My poor dad, he was upset, not about the mess, but because the pressure change was hurting me. He wanted to turn back but I told him to keep going, that I could deal with the pain. He had to climb to get over the mountains, but he kept asking me if I was okay. It hurt, but driving home would have taken 10 - 12 hours, compared to 3 hours flying. I did NOT want to sit in the car that long.

    My kiddo recently had an abscess. It was extremely painful and he isn’t one to complain. They drained it and packed it and with an antibiotic it healed well. Poor kid could hardly move it hurt so much. Once it was drained he said it felt better. They told us abscesses are quite common.

  • @gabeangel8104

    I recently had emergency surgery and have an abscess from an internal stitch getting infected. I don’t know how much of my pain is still post surgery healing and how much is the abscess but I sympathise with you. I have had 2 courses of antibiotics so far and hope I don’t need it drained coz it’s right where I have an already still very tender healing scar and the thought of having that area cut back open really scares me. I have eds too btw. Watching your videos really helps me, thank you.

  • @logical1291
    @logical1291 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did not get lidocaine when they split open my abscess. I was tortured for nothing. The doctor however did advise that if I ever saw a bump like this appearing to immediately place a warm compress on it or shower with warm/hot water on it for a time. My daughter spotted one on her thigh and she showered with warm/ hot water on it for a time and it never grew and disappeared. No antibiotics needed or drainage. Great advice.

    I feel for you 💐
    I had an abcess the size of a golf ball on my upper thigh near the groin. I finally went to a walk-in clinic and the doctor took one look at it and said I was lucky I didn't have sepsis because the infection was moving inwards 🤢 I had it lanced, drained and packed too. Omg. The worst was that the abscess had been so deep that I had to go back 3 times to have it repacked without any freezing. It was staph not MRSA but I was on antibiotics for 10 days also.
    Sending you speedy recovery vibes 🌸

    Hallo Babes!
    So sorry about the bloody abscess 😤😢
    My son, however, had one 'on his arse, and above his spine'😦
    I brought him to me after his op to look after him, with instructions from the hospital as to what I should do!
    I've had a day bit of experience with 'hospital work', but the first time I removed the covering plaster and 'packing', my knees went rather weak, because I could almost see his spine through a VERY large hole😕😨
    (He'd ignored it for months, thinking that it would 'just go away with antibiotic cream!😦)
    He, of course, hadn't seen the result of the operation!
    I'd, thank goodness, had the good sense to have an as near as perfect 'medically clean environment', and could re-pack his wound, having recovered myself😊
    He was here for 5 weeks, with the usual 'daily change', and it was absolutely incredible to see how his ' 2nd arse hole' (sorry, not very nice, but true!), finally closed completely 😊
    Thank goodness, my dear, that, although a sort of bloody annoying 'relapse', you got it sorted out as soon as possible (OUCH😤)
    All love, Claire, Berlin, Germany 😊 😙

    Girl, I feel ya! My mom, me, and my son all have a chronic condition called hidradenitis suppurativa. It's an (in our case hereditary) autoimmune disease that causes multiple, deep abscesses. Sometimes they get as large as a lemon. Abscesses of any size are painful and it is no fun to have them lanced. I know you don't normally do pain meds, but just an fyi here, they can absolutely give you a shot or port meds for the pain. I have to get dilaudid plus numerous shots of lidocaine and it can still hurt. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

    Oh man I can feel your pain!! 3 weeks ago i had a large painful bump on my bikini line. Ended up at the ER getting the infected cyst drained and removed. They suggested anesthesia bc of the location but i didnt really want to be put under so they injected some lidocaine for the procedure. Luckily, the lidocaine made the area numb enough to ease most of the pain, but they had to get drawback before numbing to ensure it wasn't a mass... and oh my gosh it hurt really bad. Worst part was the surgeon was struggling to get drawback so he had to try a few different times. You are so strong 💜

    I know you probably don’t want advice but when my sister was having issues with MRSA she was told to do diluted bleach baths. The one thing she did was mix with water in a spray bottle and would spray herself with it. From what I know she really hasn’t had an issue with MRSA since starting what the doctor told her. Jaquie, I'm so sorry to hear that you had a return of your MRSA. A least they were able to see you right away and have the abscess drained. I have chronic MRSA. My body is so colonized with the organism that every 6-8 weeks, I'll get a skin infection and have to go into Infectious Disease Isolation for 2-3 weeks. I have been in this cycle for about three tears now. I have been following your channel since it began, and it is wonderful how you make the daily decision to live your life fully and make the necessary steps that allow you to do that. I have been in the hospital since October, 2011, because of injuries I received in a fire. I've had 74 operations and need about 30 more ( mostly on my hands) before I have the dexterity needed to resume ADL"s (Activities of Daily Living). Unfortunately, it's hard to get operations scheduled when the MRSA keeps popping up, since they will not do nothing while I am sick. You are so very blessed to have a supportive husband, family, and Harlow. I look forward to your video daily. Thanks for taking me on your adventure.

    • @misskarla1377
      @misskarla1377 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      redroses24, Vancomycin is not the only drug they use. There are now several oral antibiotics that treat MRSA very effectively. My problem is that I am colonized with MRSA. (If you Google it, you will get a good definition without my writing half of a page). As an example, staphylococcus is a very common organism. If we cultured your skin and under your nails right now, there would be staphylococcus present. If you cultured mine, I would have MRSA present. It is only when there is an overgrowth of bacteria, and/or a weakened immune system, that you become symptomatic or ill. Before the fire, I had two auto immune disorders, and managed well, but after the fire, my I had MRSA five times in the first four months that I was in the hospital, and was critically ill. Now, I deal with most other infections like anyone else, but for some reason, I simply have too have too much MRSA on me. It has become a regular cycle and I just deal with it.

    IV Adavant is my dad's life saver when he goes to get an MRI or CAT scan. My dad has stage three brain cancer so he has routine MRI's and CAT scans but he gets claustrophobic. The Adavant, although makes him loopy lol, keeps him calm and collected to get everything done.

    I go to the ER for certain things too.....I actually figured out that they probably were going to give you antivan BEFORE you said that !
    I have tried to go to Urgent Care...and they have told me to STOP doing that, simply because they almost always end up sending me to the ER anyway. It's been several years since I have been to Urgent care
    I have had MRSA myself...and it's not fun at all.... About the only thing decent I can say about MRSA is that "IF" you have it, there's no way they will put you in a semi-private room with someone. Having a semi-private room isn't bad.....I don't want to act like it is, but I have gotten so used to having a private room.....when being admitted to the hospital.

    I had an abscess on my leg when I was little. I have HORRIBLE anxiety and freaked out over the whole ER deal. They didn't bother to try to calm me down, though. They just let me continue to freak until all the numbing stuff wore off before finally getting tired of it and just restraining me and going for it. It was a small abscess and didn't need packing or anything but man did the procedure hurt.
    I have a really high pain tolerance and an used to accidentally hurting myself so I don't really remember much pain from the abscess itself so much as me being like "Wow it's really red and swollen and looks really bad."
    I also had an infected cyst on my arm. That (again!) wasn't super painful existing on my arm. Just another "This should probably get checked out" type of thing. But MAN DID IT HURT AFTER. They didn't stitch it up so that the infection could drain and boy was that open wound painful as heck even with painkillers. It's amazing how such small things can hurt so much.

    It could have been any number of things that caused that abscess. Pressure sore, something your body didn't metabolize right like IVIG or any of the numerous medications used in your treatments and anesthetics. Urgent heath were probably just playing it safe because you have recently had a MRSA infection. There is a slight chance that it was MSRA but more of a chance that it wasn't and just a regular abscess/boil, but the emergency room is better equipped to deal with something that may potentially need a higher standard of sterile protocol.
    What program do you use for your video editing and intro effects?

    I have an implantable defibrillator. It used to be set up so if I jumped into A-fib (a not immediately life threatening arrhythmia) it would shock me at 3 am. They prescribed Ativan pills for me to take on the nights I knew I was going to get shocked (yes I can tell when I’m in a-fib) and I would sometimes sleep right through getting shocked, lol. So the fact that You were still coherent with IV Ativan impresses me, lol. By the way, it is also used a muscle relaxer. They sometimes give when someone is having a seizure. Take care! And I hope you enjoy your time with Judd’s family :-)

    Oh my thoughts are with you. Pain is a bitch. I watch your videos to keep me going. Your positive attitude through everything makes me feel like no matter what happens in my life I can stay positive like you. Ativan doesn't help me, I have to have Klonopin for anxiety.

    U had the same as me !! I'm now a MRSA carrier plz make sure u tell them at ER or urgent care u will need to be very careful of any new bumps or abcesses. I also do too. Thankfully I've avoided more surgeries being very careful. I've had to have two lower bum/ upper thigh surgeries

    I have an issue with an inhibitor that metabolizes medication. Unfortunately lidocaine is one of them as well. I just had a central line put in this week and they didn’t understand when I told them that all the lidocaine in the world wouldn’t do a thing.. my resident told me she was going to inject some lidocaine deeper but instead made the incision and started placing the line... I swear the whole floor heard me cursing. 🤣 oh well they were warned.😝 (I’m not mad I needed the line bad). Glad it wasn’t too bad for you.

    Abscesses are the worst! I'm prone to them and cellulitis, no amount of cleaning or preventive care can stop a simple scrape from turning into a serious infection and abscess for me. In fact one on my hand destroyed my right hand and I was right handed! I was septic and very lucky to have made it, unfortunately the cost of it was the loss of any function in my hand. I was 23 and a artist, very hard to deal with but lucky my POTS tends to keep me in brain fog and I can't remember my problems most days! 😂

    I’m so sorry you didn’t feel good I know how that feels. My gastroperisis isn’t as bad but it does flare up. Have you ever thought of getting Botox injections into your pyloris? It’s really helped me I hardly have symptoms anymore. The bad thing is the only doctor that I know of that does it is in Cincinnati Ohio. It’s worth it though going on four months and they said it should last for about six to eight months.

    I saw a t-shirt I really liked being worn by a guy who catches wild animals to remove them from places they shouldn't be and relocates them to places they should be.
    His shirt said, "I work with wild animals. If I'm running, keep up."

    I love y'alls opening entry. Y'all are amazing. To see it it makes me feel happy even though all the pain I have everyday. I'm amazed how you go through so much pain. I often wish I could have just one day pain free but it didn't happen. Your is slit worse than mine I'm disabled from osteoarthritis and I have no carthlidge left in my knees. I weigh way to much I can't walk not far at all and I can't stand long cause of my legs and back. So I have a wheelchair my hubby pushes me in and it's very uncomfortable. My doctor say the only way to get a electric cart is to have a heart attack or a stroke. Anyway I love you guys and hippo. Y'all have a very Merry christmas.

    Urgent Care won't treat you if you have a possible contagious infection which is why they sent you to the ER.. it's a pain to deal with especially if it's something you don't think is a big deal. I went one time thinking I possibly had a very contagious stomach infection just needing some antibiotics and I as soon as I said that the lady said oh no we can't treat that here you have to go to the ER. I ended up not having an infection at all but I was not willing to go to the ER. I guess it's because they aren't equipped to deal with highly contagious things.

    Abscesses are very painful. I have had a lot around my bum, from rectal Crohn’s disease but also weird ones on my arm or other limbs. Never fun honey and always painful. It is better to have it drained by a doctor. They can blow on their own and cause horrible scaring. Also infections like that can get into the blood stream too. Which leads to other issues, like sepsis, which is life threatening. Hugs that it is all taken care of.

    i have had one but was on side of my leg, they tried to squeeze it like a spot was not working pure agony , they then brought surgeons in and was put on antibiotics for 7 days and one day while cleaning i bumped my leg and it burst i now have a dark brown scar where it was but mine was from a insect bite hope you feel better soon x

    Oh my goodness, I had an abscess in the same spot as you. My doctor said giving me a shot of lidocaine would hurt more than actually lancing the abscess so they didn't give me ANYTHING. He actually asked me if I wanted something to bite on!!! LOL!
