While I make no excuse for the badminded people of this world...many of them don't understand how far you've come from. They were not there when you and your 3 siblings and parents ate 1 tin of sardine for dinner or breakfast...they didn’t see when you were having cornmeal porridge with only sugar or butter...they see the end result but they don’t know the pain that led to your purpose.
Thank you, Simone and Dahlia, for addressing this matter. It is a discussion I have had with family members over the years. Just yesterday, my wife and I had the same conversation. This is not only common to Jamaica but other places I am travel to in different countries all over the world. Sad to say I have found this to be more prevalent among our people. It is the crab inna barrel mentality that keeps holding us back as a people. With this come ungratefulness among our people when you have done something for them even among family members. Until we as a people rid ourselves of this type of behavior and attitude many of us will never succeed. Thank you both for doing this program. Waiting for you to do a program on ungratefulness which our people describe as being worse than witchcraft. Not a believer in witchcraft but this longtime statement by our people makes a great deal of sense.

I agree !! We can do all things through Christ that strengthen us..... Success is a Journey... Unique to everyone who embark upon it .. many ROUTES to success...we afto encourage ourselves with the little victories and little defeat , and all the failures of trying..... I take all of them as fuel for inspiration....if God say I am blessed , I am loved , I am free ... I Believe!! The Bible says we have received an inheritance...I believe , I align myself with actions, attitudes that affirm that believe...... God says it , I believe GOD.... Love this. Talk up the things. Classism and colourism is a big one. There was a judge in the Festival Queen competiton who felt that I didn't deserve the win because of my complexion. Yep she said my color won't take me too far. Yes I did say Festival Queen Competition.
I remember someone said something bad about Dahliah, and I didn't like it. I was a teenager at the time and living in the rural area. The person was living in Kingston at the time. Come to find out, the whole family is badmind and jealous because I've experienced it. They also have the spirit of division. Now I'm in my 40s, and Dahliah is still in the media and doing great while they are struggling.
Because of the badmind mentality, I don't tell ppl my business. They are not putting in the level of hardwork and discipline that you put into in achieving your goals but they hate you when the glory start show

THROUGH IN DEMAND, GLOBALLY ACCEPTED SKILLS .... BILLIONS WAS MADE ... IN THE BAUXITE VENTURE... AND MANY OTHER VENTURE..... ALOT THESE MONIES END UP IN GOVERNMENT POCKETS , IN OFF SHOAR ACCOUNTS.... THE PEOPLE WAS NEVER THE PRIORITY... THEY PAINT A FACADE....... TO THE PEOPLE... SO !! I TELL MY JAMAICAN PEOPLE , MAKE YOURSELF THE PRIORITY TRUST GOD IN YOUR ASPIRATION PUT IT BEFORE HIM .... People are "badmind" for various reasons- achievements, beauty(looks), possessions, lifestyle etc. the list is endless! It's an innate human trait that everyone experiences from childhood, whether they want to admit it or not. It would probably help if some people were more humble and not flaunt all of their accomplishments!

Badmind comes in many different forms.
It's sad to see the amount of family members with badmind. And it baffles the mind that people spend cold hard cash to try and stop your progress.
