On our way to the Boonville NY woodsman show - in traffic and should arrive around 3:30 will be on Eastside of the fairgrounds by the large processors.
Wow...You guys are blessed to have some real nice toys not only make the job easier but can cut every project time safely down. I really enjoy watching your videos. Christian values is the cement which bonds family together and can be an inspiration to others.
I get a sense of serenity and calmness while in the woods, either while laboring or simply immersing myself in the surroundings. You seem to experience the same thing. The tower blind will be a great place. Also, keep up the good work on the videos. Your editing and content are right on. Most people don't realize how many hours are devoted to producing high quality videos.
My wife now helps me in our tree pruning work. This video reminds me of the pleasure of working with my wife. She calls herself my apprentice. Thanks for numbering your episodes. I had missed some, so the numbering helps me to catch up.
Your musical choices are great.... it's not just your video topical decisions... there's an awesome blend of music with each of your videos. It's genuinely artistic and professional in quality! Thanks!
Mike the dewalt tools are in my opinion number one. With that being said if you were to look on eBay you could find a 4 Amp hr or 5 and 6 amp hr battery. It’s a great match up with the saw. I also realized I need to put a new blade on every now and then. Lol. Awesome vlog Tony
I plan on building a mezzanine in my barn and your plans and technique are almost exactly what I was thinking. Watching you build this assures me my plans will work. Probably followed by one in the woods for hunting season with the grandkids. Thanks for the videos !!
Nice job. I'm a big fan of the ledger board. I was glad to see you use it. I also like the board first, bracket second. I will use that for my wife's "she shed".
MIKE, I member you commented in a early video, you used to build decks on the side , 'hustled' for extra money in lean times. The difference now is, you can slowly enjoy this build at your leisure! Lookin good !
Your building project is coming along nicely. If we weren’t so far away we would certainly come and see you guys. Maybe sometime. Hope you have a great time tonight. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍❤️
Looking real good! That place is gonna be a palace! Even to just go out there and enjoy each others company would be nice! Anytime out in the woods is nice!
Looking good Mike, I believe I should be able to start my 8x8 after the hunting season this coming year. I now have a 6x6 and a 4x6 in the woods that I’m still working on. Once their complete I’ll get started on the 8x8 but I’m still looking for that sweet spot to build it. But anyway by watching your videos sure helps me put my plan together.
LOOKING GOOD MIKE AND MELISSA I BUILT ONE TWO YEARS AGO BUT IT'S 20 FT UP AND IT'S ONLY BUILT FOR ME 4X4 BUT WORKS GREAT IN HUNTING SEASON NO MORE BEING COLD LOVE IT !! THANKS FOR GREAT VIDEO
Enjoy your channel man. Thanks for sharing. Just bought a house and property and working on turning it into a homestead so these videos are helpful. Just bought a Deere 1025R today, was VERY close to getting an RK because of you but dealer/parts/service techs being close decided it for me.
#OUTDOORGANS Well built is always good! Ever been in a deer blind up off the ground, that your buddy built? And you think God for letting you get to the ground safely after you see it in the daylight!!!
Starting to look good. I need to get in gear and get mine built. Too busy putting in trails and digging the pond. Have fun at the show this weekend and have a great day.
My Mother and I worked with my Dad on all kinds of projects. You guys remind me of those years. I would probably use washers on the both ends of the bolts. You do good work!
Coming along nicely guys. 3:00 pm here on Fri. as I type this out. Time to get mowing B4 the rains come or if I wait a little bit longer, it will indeed start raining, getting me out of it, lol! This will be my 4th & final cut for the season up here. Day B4 yesterday marked DAY (30) on the tree removal project above the pond as the FINAL poplar was blocked up & added to the stack. My best guess is 5 to 6 cord, ready to be split... Enjoy the woodsman show folks! Bill on the Hill... :~)
Mike, RK Tractors, The Beautiful One, The Best Combination Ever !!! Have a Safe Trip, Have Lots of Fun. #poolformelissa #melissatough #thatmelissasmile
Just another suggestion, from Hard Knocks U: no matter what the lumber yard says, pressure-treated lumber will eventually rot when it is in constant contact with soil. It's also a good idea to prevent the pressure-treated posts from directly contacting poured concrete. Best way, long-term, is to soak the bottom end of each post in a chemical wood preservative, like Cuprinol: the preservative will "wick" up into the core of each post. Do this soaking step overnight. The following day, mark the grade elevation on each post, and coat the post below that line with asphalt emulsion, particularly the cut end at the bottom of each post. Although this may seem like a lot of extra work, these extra steps really require a very small amount of additional planning. The asphalt emulsion will dry to create a moisture barrier. And, the residual moisture in each post will "wick" upwards and evaporate. These simple extra steps should extend the useful life of all such posts by several extra years. Hope this helps.
Another great video, l love tower stands, my favorite blind these days has RAM 1500 4x4 on it,(I’m disabled and it’s legal on private land). Can’t wait to see the finished product. I bet some “Throw and Grow” would do good in that area.
Screws are handy and have thier uses but I have learned to love my nail gun. Also nails cost less and generally have more shear strength then screws. About 100 times faster then driving a screw also. I hope you saw up some lumber for this nice deer stand.
I missed the video where you pull permits, go to City planning, go to board of review and mark for utilities...in addition, did you ever mention how many board feet in the red oak?
Great video as always I noticed the bolts went in a little easier on this video. Did you go with a little bigger with your drill bit? Also sometimes putting a little soap on the end will help. Always save the little bar of soap it can come in handy for multiple things! Please have a safe trip this weekend.
133 subscribers now Melissa that's a cute video . mike I wouldn't make the cabin to nice . if you were to get in trouble might have to spend the night . lol thanks for the video keep them coming GOD bless from IL

Wow! I was born not far from there... Use to go every single year...
I LOVE the Woodsmens Field Days! My parents used to live in Boonville. Spent many enjoyable times there.

Wish we knew you were going to be in New York we would love to meet with you! Will to come to PA to do that also!

Good call taking the RK24 out there, I do not think anything but the RK24 would have been right in that scenario. 100% right choice RK24 all the way.
I missed the video where you pull permits, go to City planning, go to board of review and mark for utilities...in addition, did you ever mention how many board feet in the red oak?
Great Job, good helper I have one like that, thinks ahead of what you are doing.
Look in good Michael in case of a tornado you got s place to go. Building it to withstand any thing
Steady as she goes. 👍🏻
Good choice of music!
I woulda glued and bolted the 2x4s you set the joists on. All that much strength added. Nothing wrong with overkill.
I want to be able to pull the ranger under it,
Looking good,,,,,,, you can use the Spirit level up side down as well....
martyn wakeley , thanks for the tip, never knew that. 👍🏻✌🏻️

I believe the saying you were thinking of is, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing.”
Your tower blind is looking good as it takes shape.
