I remember the original version..and when they started to play the jam & Spoon version ,I thought..oh its just a remix of the original...actually didnt like the Jam & Spoon version the first times I heard it...still loves the original due to the new sound/atmosphere it started..and the memories :)
I had to listen twice to understand where the inspiration came from. Sometimes when you think perfection cannot be improved (j&s) you hear this and it makes you melt
Absolutely fantastic, this is actually the first time I've heard the original. I prefer the Jam'n'Spoon mix but this here is a slice of trance history, thanks for uploading.
Jam & Spoon were a German electronic music duo formed in 1991 in Frankfurt. The group consisted of composers and producers Rolf Ellmer (a.k.a. Jam El Mar, classically trained composer) and Markus Löffel (a.k.a. Mark Spoon, DJ). They also worked under the pseudonyms Tokyo Ghetto Pussy, Storm and Big Room. Under these pseudonyms, the credits on the albums are listed as Trancy Spacer and Spacy Trancer. Genres: Trance, Eurodance, house, trip hop
Haven't heard this since ibiza 1990. Sounded incredible in the newly roofed amnesia. After the summer was spent, along with most of my brain cells, I came back to the UK and looked everywhere, but could only see the inferior version on the shelves. Thanks for the flashback!
Thanks for uploading, mate! Was crosslistening between other so called original versions and the Jam & Spoon mix and thought I was just too stupid to find the differences. Now it's clear 😃
Yes 🙌 this mix was on my pressing-which was one of the first runs available in the U.S.-and was for sure the one that got played in the club most frequently. It had that weird pitchy thing/skip situation around 4:00 and you had to account for it when mixing the record. On the East Coast in the U.S., this was played in gay clubs alongside Armando’s “100% of Dissing You,” Steve Poindexter’s “Work That Muthafucka,” and the Go Bitch Go record “Work This Pussy.” They all had a similar shifty high-hat and bass that got the kids to skuzz out on the floor a bit.
These are good, but, Jam & Spoon elevated this tune to classic status. I know this is the original and yes, for pure nostalgia it gets the vote, no doubt pretty rare too, but, that mix was special.
well done, mate! lots of vids claiming to to be the original but are the Stella mix instead. First time i've heard this, am enjoying the lush synth pads, deffo ahead of its time considering trance wasn't really a thing yet back in 1990.
J'ai dans ma vieille discothèque "the age of Love" dont je ne me suis pas lassé mais aussi l'album Kaleidoscope, j'aimais aussi leur partie eurodance et particulièrement le remix "Flamenc-o-matic Fairytale" de Right in The night. Leurs titres à succès (Find me, Angel)) me plaisaient davantage que d'autres titres eurodance. lls étaient dansants mais apaisants.
No, the female voice was already present in some original versions. The Age Of Love (Flying Mix) The Age Of Love (New Age Mix) The Age Of Love [Boeing Mix] The Age Of Love [Radio Version]
How many 50+ year olds here now listening to this remembering the days way back when.....

Haha same.
The original is not always better. Jam&Spoon is still the best version. Love this too though.
1990 _2020.... I'm HERE!!!!! Forever and ever..... I have this magic tune... 👌👌💖💖💖 Italian pride!! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
I had to listen twice to understand where the inspiration came from.
Sometimes when you think perfection cannot be improved (j&s) you hear this and it makes you melt
an often overlooked fact: The Age of Love was composed by Bruno Sanchioni (from BBE) and Pino d'Angio (ma quale idea)
This info made my day!

Damn, It felt like I just went 30 years back in time, good old days..
Thanks SO much for sharing the ORIGINAL version . . . . love the J+S remix, but THIS is the real deal. LOVE IT
Fuck yeah this is the real deal! The other one don't have the soul that this one has. It's okay but this reaches somewhere else inside you.
I was dancing (moving my body) inside these vibes in 1997-1999, all the best!
fantastica! che ricordi...Movida, Area City, Ca Noghera
Can't get enough of whatever mix there is out there. COME ON, dance with me Age of Love
1990 way ahead, 1992 jam spoon spot on. 2021 Charlotte transported it to today.
Not that kid "Charlotte"... Her producer in the background.
FANTASTIC & SHINNING ALL TIMES))) Blissful song
Thanks from Argentina
This is the first original version.
The beginning seems to be anne clarke - our darkness.
This record is a gem, still have it on vinyl since 1990 💙👌
Lucky you!
@@sven9346 This track and Our Darkness from Anne C. are a perfect match
This track was published in 1990 but the sounds seem to come from the future. Thanks for uploading!
I can still hear some Giorgio Moroder in there :-)
It was the 90s I feel love
Thanks for uploading, mate!
Was crosslistening between other so called original versions and the Jam & Spoon mix and thought I was just too stupid to find the differences. Now it's clear 😃
I'd say Jam&Spoon needs to get almost as much credits than those original authors. They really brought this song to another level!
nice
There it is! The version with the male voiceline I was always missing... THX Mate!

An urban myth about the Jam & Spoon remix being the original.
Love it, still pumping
These are good, but, Jam & Spoon elevated this tune to classic status. I know this is the original and yes, for pure nostalgia it gets the vote, no doubt pretty rare too, but, that mix was special.
It’s kind of like Energy 52’s Cafe Del Mar. The Three N One really propelled it.
THX 🦊
Min 5:40..... Fear.... 😱 One the best tune.. 1990.... Afterhour.... 😎🇮🇹🇮🇹💪💪😉😉👏👏👏💝

It's curious that the one who made this theme is Pino D'Angio.
Thanks!!!

Jam and spoon took it to the next level specially by adding the female ahhh vocals …
I love it but it's another atmosphere, less subtile.
