I was 63 yesterday, lived through the finest musical decades, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Thanks to John Peel I started to get into house and trance in the mid 90's and on new years eve1999 I went to meet a mate of mine to get some acid.. He couldn't get any but asked me if I'd be interested in a pill instead. After Old Lang Syne I was walking home and happened to be walking past a nightclub and could hear the beat through the walls so I went inside. It was the start of 3 years of pills and being the first on the dance floor and the last off and this amazing track was part of that journey. To say I feel privileged is an understatement...

I believe DJ MAG had an article of the 100 best trance tracks like 20 years ago and this was voted number 1
It IS number one!
The only other possible contender for me would be "Saltwater". But this track is king, and always, always will be.
It's hard to disagree with... Not my personal favorite, but it's virtually impossible to argue against the massive, otherworldly drop at 6 minutes. Even people who find trance cheesy, will go mental whenever that is played on the dancefloor, regardless of it being 2004, 2014, or 2024.
It's a two way tie between this and Three Drives Greece 2000. Impossible to choose between them!
This is the only track in existence that makes a 5 minute long intro completely worth it every single time without fail
I don't know why I like this tune so much. It's like it transcends everything... all of my life put together in one simple dancing meditation on the tightrope of life... a life of ups and downs but still going, rising, falling and wondering, not knowing the point but loving the colour of its dance ... of free falling into the future slowly but surely finding that nothing really matters, except the dance, the flow, the energy... the connection.. the eye contact... the love... and ultimately... NATURE.

@@adamnorth8321 I wasn´t too young in 95, but I can tell you the quality trance phenomena went well into the early 2000´s (albeit progressive house was eventually gonna become the most popular "underground" style with Sasha and the GU stuff). Plus the parties were still lit with no smartphones and no social media. But sure, I can only imagine how awesome 91-95 period would have been.

Hi, I was in the studio and made this track. It took me (Andre Sträßer) and Sharam Jey two weeks to make this remix.
In the end we had heard the track 1000 times and weren't sure if it was good enough.
We didn't realize that we had put on a mega track. We didn't celebrate or anything, we were just happy that it was over and the mixer was free again for the next track.

@@Matrice0409 I didn't "get" this music at the time when I was 14/15 and into Nirvana and stuff which is all very well but that kind of music seems very prescriptive ( lyrics telling you what to think )... whereas this music is spiritual and transcendent of mundane existene... it's a pathway to higher plane of dance and euphoria and I wish I'd noticed it at the time of clubbing in the 90s as I wouldn've absolutely loved it , I know.

I've listened to Trance since forever, especially in the late 90s and early 2000's. I listened to thousands of songs, this one is in my opinion up there with maybe 2 or 3 more, if not the best trance song of all time.
