Not too long in my opinion but I’m old and probably have a longer attention span than people that want immediate gratification. I think your videos are great and informative. Keep them as they are. If people don’t want to watch the whole thing they can bail. Thanks Dell.

Well done Del and good info. I've decided to condition one of my jackets and going to pick up some Pecards Leather Conditioner to get after it. I'll watch your video again before I start. Thanks.
The use of the baby wipes is a terrific idea, I think. Do you think that a wipe down afterward with a microfiber towel and some distilled water sprayed on the leather would be good as a rinse before applying the conditioner?
@@DudsByDel I have a pair of nappa lambskin gloves and this cleaning routine has worked well with them, along with the use of Jojoba oil as a conditioner.

Hey Duds, thank you so much for that very valuable leather jacket cleaning and caring revue. That was very helpful. I also did very shortly a thorough care and polishing of my Langlitz with their leather dressing wax they sent me together with the jacket. And wow, it is now shining and looking again like new! - Something what I also occasionally do, is hanging it outside and airing it. - I also have a wonderful leather care universal spray, which makes the leatherjackets pretty water repellent and also after polishing it, the jacket gets a nice shine. Peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.

Hello! I found a Steinmark nappa leather jacket that has been sitting at the back of someone’s closet for the last 25 years. It appears to be practically unworn aside from some dust on the shoulders. Would you recommend conditioning it at all?
@@marle102 hey Natalie! If the leather is still pliable with no cracking or ashy/dry look to it, it may not need conditioning. 25 years is a long time however…Nappa tends to describe very lightweight hides…if you do condition it I would start with a really light layer first
@@DudsByDel Get out! Really? Beautiful. Old school vibes all over that watch. Very nice. I have two different colors of the Seiko 62MAS for the same vibe. Respect! Now - I just conditioned two jackets but I'm leaving this new Schott cross zip alone. Gail says they're good for a bunch of years before they want attention. Been watching the weather for weeks. @@team-zracing7476 haha yeah in North Carolina we’re getting very nice mornings and late afternoon but the midday is still hot. The sub200 is great, getting a few different colors seems to be a really common & reasonable approach
I have been using Jojoba oil that I can get inexpensively from Trader Joe's as a leather conditioner for my nappa lambskin driving gloves and can report that I works very well. It doesn't dry out or degrade as some other leather conditioning oils might. I'm thinking of using it as part of the periodic maintenance on the Schott leather jackets that I'm going to get.
I ise bick 4 or venetian shoe cream fir moisturizing/conditioning. Ive used obenauf lp on a jacket i wear on a bike and on a well loved a2 jacket. The obenaufs will darken leather, nit an issue for black but it will darken brown. It has beeswax iirc and really helps shed water
As in an additional product, not just buffing the leather? Generally, I wouldn’t add polish to a leather jacket. For very old jackets that have worn down the top coat, you can use products like Urad/Tenderly to restore a top coat and add more luster and depth. But otherwise I don’t think polish is necessary
