She lied from beginning to end....as the US has done absolutely nothing to attain a ceasefire. They vetoed every single decent proposal. The US is clearly a genocide-supporting country, at the top level.

@@BOZ_11 Israel committed worse atrocities than what happened on Oct. 7, namely Operation cast lead in 2008 with 1,414 civilians unalived with 313 children unalived. Operation pillar of defence in 2012. Operation protective edge in 2014, in which a large number of civilians sheltering in UN schools were unalived. All of these mini-wars were dubbed by Israeli spokespersons as a "mowing of the lawn" and lead to mainly massive civilian casùăĺties. They are also deliberately sťárving Palestinian children currently being held without charge or trial in Israeli prisons.
Defending against a colonial apàŕťheid regime is justified, just like South african protestors and Nelson Mandela, who were labelled teřřórísts back then.
Just like how all the operations I mentioned are, by Israeli spokespersons own explicit words, operations to "mow the lawn" and reduce Palestinians' sense of security and independence. They are all consisting of strikes and ground inváśíons of gáża, which is supposed to be its own sovereign territory.
The excuse that ĥàmás is hiding behind civilians is simply a convenient lie by the ÌĎF to justify carpet bòmɓìng civilian infrastructure and displace ģáźâns. Their spokespersons explicitly stated that their mìĺîťary goal is a second ñáķɓă and the displacement of all Palestinians to the sinai desert. It's just like the lie of "wéàpóns of mass deśťřùction" used by the US to justify its inváśíon of iraq
Also, all 3 operations resulted in over a thousand civilian ďéàthś with minimal losses on ĥámáś' side. How about I ťářģet a thousand Ukrainian or American civîĺíáns and call it a defensive operation, see how you will feel about that?

One major takeaway: The US should drop all initiatives because first and foremost it is now seen as a genocidal regime. The other things just aren't important. No one wants anything to do with people who knowingly enable genocide.

She speaks about Gaza like a humanitarian crisis. Maybe, like the Armenian humanitarian crisis in the Ottoman Empire 1915-18, and the Jewish humanitarian crisis in Eastern Europe 1941-45.

This is exactly what enrages me about her. I am of Turkish ancestry and I remember watching her on the "Screamers" documentary, talking about this exact topic. I had arguements about this with my own parents, or got insults from other Turks, been called "a traitor" etc. because I mentioned that my grandparents were witnesses of the Armenian Genocide, because the death marches to the Syrian desert were right in front of their village. And now she is sitting there, being an active participant in all of this BS. Like I mentioned in another comment, it must be nice to know you are such a "moral person" when you can blame others from the comfort of your own home, but it all changes of course once you are involved in it yourself.

No, she went to Yale, where all she learned is that it's always important to suck up to the rich and the powerful, in the hope that someday, they'll make you rich and powerful. A Problem from Hell written by Samantha Power (a Pulitzer Prize winning novel) was one of those life changing reads. Especially the final chapters of the book analysing the US’s response to genocides since the genocide convention’s ratification - including the failure with regards to Rwanda. It was highlighted that one of the failures was how Bill Clinton and his administration refused to call it genocide for fear of being obliged to act.
It is horrifying to see Samantha Power herself try to substitute the word “genocide” with “humanitarian crisis”.
