Bob Holly was not very kind in the least writing exactly what he thought of HHH as a person in his book, then when he got to a point mentioning a match they had he immediately said something like "despite what I may think of him Hunter is one of the best and one of the greatest workers I've ever been in the ring with, we tore it down"
"The Clique" didn't like Bam Bam Bigelow in the least. Not one hesitated a millisecond to say they wanted him on the roster. I like Bret Hart because he's brutally honest. It comes off dry and calloused but Bret is a man of integrity and class. People have said he's a winer but he's a consummate pro and one of the all time greats! He's telling the truth which nobody in the high brass in the WWE don't like. I respect him for not hiding in a corner of the world filled with resentment. He's got all the right to speak his mind about what's really happened in the ring and the hall of fame. One thing I don't like about society is the people who don't sugar coat things and kiss asses don't get the respect they deserve.

    • @ranker2020
      @ranker2020 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Because Shawn Michaels said he couldn't guarantee Bret would be safe in the ring with him. Plus he didn't wanna drop the belt in his home country of Canada. Vince Mcmahon wanted to stick it to Bret because he was leaving for his rival company WCW. As far as being injured Bill Goldberg was a wild wrestler and other performers weren't safe with him in the ring. And what happened between Owen Hart and Stone Cold had nothing to do with Bret Hart. I'm sure Bret didn't like it. But Bret is a upstanding guy as far as I'm concerned. And I like him. And feel like he's never got the full respect he deserves for an an in ring performer and as a genuine person and a real good dude. He's the best there is, the best there was and the best there will ever be.

His point about people that have gone into the HOF that never spent any time wrestling for the WWF/E while others aren’t in is a valid point and the sad thing about the WWE HOF. I understand that it’s a huge honor for guys who wrestled because it’s essentially become the HOF of the entire sport to an extent in the eyes of the masses. It’s just become such an unfortunate posturing exercise to a large degree and is impacted so much by personal relationships over talent. It’s so unfortunate the numerous people who long deserved to be in but had issues with the company to some extent and ended up not being indicted until after they’d died. Such an unfortunate thing to see so many not get to experience the honor and recognition of their work.
But sadly it’s grown into something entirely different from what it originally was. This past year was probably the most glaring example of that. Muta went in, a guy who never wrestled once for the WWF, to capitalize on his retirement. Hard to grasp that happening while many deserving people who put years into the WWF/E itself continue to wait to go in while someone who never worked there gets in largely to state that this is the HOF for everything not just the WWE.

Bret had a stroke and I think that's why he often says things that come across as very frank, brutal or can be quite mixed at different times. Anyone who's been around someone who has had a stroke knows this can happen long term.

Having a stroke can really heighten emotions (especially negative emotions) and make it hard to control them. You can really see it in how he talks, there's no holding back.

Interesting that Brett talks about wrestlers never thanking those that helped get them to that Hall of Fame, which is telling since HBK specifically thanked Bret Hart in his HOF speech. Just goes to show how truly interlinked their careers are.

Bret is so right. No disrespect to the fabulous freebirds nor the rock n roll express and both teams deserve a wrestling hall of fame but not WWE hall of fame.
    Demolition
    Strike force
    The killer bees
    The bulldogs
    The islanders
    The rockers
    The brainbusters
    The new age outlaws
    The twin towers
Real wwe tag teams that all deserve to be in the hall of fame

While Bret is correct that we should see more of these WWF tag teams in the hall of fame, he basically takes a shit on the Rock n Roll Express and they definitely belong. That they got in before the Hart Foundation doesn't negate that they belong and I'd argue that RnR, who could outdraw alot of singles matches from the era, 100% belong in before the Hart Foundation.
