@@jimmieweathers just received my seagate 530 1To its a blessing. i wanted the 4gigabite one however the price convinced me otherwise 😂 but from the noise standpoint is still very quiet ! Didn’t change one bit . As long as the SSD is equipped with the heatsink feature you’re good to go .

For me it's sticking out a little bit and I am afraid to push it what do I do
It is you only need to take care removing and putting the panel back on as the clips that hold it in place can easily break if you are too forceful

I found a recommended list of recommended PS5 SSDs. I considered this one at first sight since the game drive on my PC is also a hybrid Firecuda. Saw the price and about passed out. Well, now it's on sale plus I have a gift card and rewards cash. Glad I waited. My patience will pay off. It's going to be far more affordable and I know how to install it thanks to this video. 😀

@@kevinrivera5554 Sorry for the misunderstanding. I just learned about the sale. I will be purchasing it this week. The 1TB is on sale for $209.99 at Best Buy. Still high IMO but with my BB Rewards cash and Xmas gift card it will be less of a blow. I wish the 2TB was on sale. I suspect 1TB might fill up before the end of the year.
@@Cruzan9 2TB is about $400 last i checked on Amazon, 4TB use to be as low as $850 but i think its back to 1K
@@kevinrivera5554 At Best Buy the 2TB is $400 and the 4TB is $960. That's way way out of budget. These NVMe prices hurt so bad. Anyway, I just ordered the 1TB and the price dropped another $10. I ended up paying a few bucks short of $150. I think that's a very good buy.
This is a pure m.2 ssd, not a hybrid.
Installed the ssd. Works like a charm. Had some issues removing the plate. You need to pull diagonally for it to open. Thanks for the video.

I bought one ...hoping dayz runs better on ssd....update the 1tb ssd really made a huge difference in dayz on ps5...there is less pop ins and zero lag stutter when aiming down sight ...which is huge and it helps with in put lag
What is the difference between Seagate Game Drive M2 SSD PS5 2 TB (Model No: ZP2000GP3A4001) and Seagate FireCuda 530 Heatsink 2 TB (Model No: ZP2000GM30023). Which is the best option to use with PS5? On Seagate website in PS5 tab mentioned only Game Drive M2 SSD. Both of it has similar price. Are they technically the same?

I followed this guide using the 2TB with heatsink. I ran four formats on my PS5 and these are my Read speed results.
1st - 5637.08 MB/s
2nd - 6399.12 MB/s
3rd - 5709.583 MB/s
4th (and current) - 6371.037 MB/s
Is anyone getting better results?!
Got mines today and I have it at 6541.874 mb/s I’m wondering if read speeds stay at the most resent test or does it change even while you’re using it?

I wonder if the FireCude is reading within a particular range then it is just going to be considering "good" in the PS5. While in a PC the Read Speed might be more consistent, idk just guessing.

@@ThisOrThat13 mines a 1TB and it took me multiple reformats for it to read those speeds… and I did no updates… I wonder if a firmware update will be a significant change to MB/s speeds or it’s not really necessary?
@@KingMikey2625 so far you're the 2nd person I found to report 6500 speeds with the 1TB. I found under the Seagate subreddit that someone updated the firmware on the 2TB and the performance was worse. Though that was only one comment. I don't have additional data, or motherboard to help update mine. Looking for an adapter later this week.

I want to install it, but I'm not even able to remove the PS5 cover. It doesnt get loose by one bit and rather feels like im breaking something. Yes, the PS logo is on the back, the Power Button on my left hand side, yet it doesn't move a single centimetre... 😢
This is where on the ps4 swapping drives was better. Not only did I quadruple my storage but when I switched to a hybrid firecuda my speeds also increased. It was a fraction of the cost also. Now you pretty much have to upgrade for any reasonable storage for way more money and no performance increase. Which means you might as well be paying $750 for a ps5. That sucks honestly.
There's a few SSD that greatly improve speeds almost all the way up to bottleneck.
Interesting statement at the start that not all ssds get upto those speeds. I watched a video where one particular ssd was rated lower than the firecuda and ps5 baked in storage and outperformed the firecuda.
What was this?

The transfer and write speed is slightly faster on the Firecuda than the game drive

Hmm, i don`t understand. If the nvme is faster than the stock ssd inn the PS5, then you only get the "stock" speed from ssd..inn the nvme?

How In Christ do you make it look that easy taking off the cover I feel like I’m gonna break it
If you put one hand in the top corner and the other on the bottom lift and pull with the top hand downward in one motion and pull downward with the bottom hand it comes off no problem. Works for me every time.
because it is your either over thinking it maybe because it isn't hard I will say there are some youtubers that act likes its hard all you do is pull up on the correct corner place the other hand at the back of the console with the hand pulling up on the corner slide back with little force and your done
My PS5 says the read speed is less than the 7300 mentioned in the video- it's around 6500. Is that normal?

Great video thank you! One question about read speed. My Firecuda 530/2TB can only reach 6,4xx MB/S on the PS5 after several attempts of formatting while I've seen many others that get to 6,5xx MB/S. Is that normal or should i send it back for repair? All firmware are up to date.

My PS5 said my 2tb 530 speed is 5904.. not what I expected
pretty sure the write speed is lower than the read speed, if thats what youre talking about. otherwise, to reduce heat, the ps5 slows down speeds when it doesnt need to use it at full speed

My PS5 has the latest s/w version updated and After installing Firecuda 530 1TB with heatsink version, I am getting incompatible alert says "Can't use the M.2 SSD inserted in the expansion slot. Use an M.2 SSD that meets these requirements * PCIe Gen 4 or later, * Capacity of 250GB minimum and 4TB maximum. Turn off your PS5, and then remove your M.2 SSD. I am not sure if there is some issue with the SSD or with PS5. Can anyone suggest?

NO! That sticker actually works as a makeshift thermal paste almost and IMPROVES the quality and heat disapation
Hello I recently purchased the firecuda 530 as a means of expanding my storage for the ps5. I received the item, unpacked and installed the device following the correct installation method (inserting at an angle until hearing a click, etc). It recognised the device and formatted the drive and seemed to work fine for a few days. Today however my ps5 turned off by itself saying expandable storage removed incorrectly, rebuilt the database and now no longer recognises the m.2 drive. Despite multiple reinstall attempts it won't even see the drive thus not allowing me to reformat. Could the drive be faulty? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
