This is Church ^ I bought the exact same cleaning spray and just followed the exact method and now I'm looking at the cleanest bike I ever owned!
He's not kidding when he says give it a good soaking - really do, both before and after the spray. 👍

Ey-Up……great video, great job. Something very therapeutic about watching someone cleaning their bike from the comfort of your own home, supping tea and eating biscuits. I’ve always washed my bike just as described in your video. Just a tiny little tip when it comes to decanting the ‘wash off’ fluid from a five litre container into a one litre spray applicator. If you tilt the five litre container on its side rather than just tilting it up from the bottom as I’ve noticed thats the way you do it, then you won’t get any dripping of the ‘wash off’ product on the ground and every little drip saved is good. Thanks for posting these informative how to do videos Stuart, they’re always interesting and good to watch on a miserable and chilly Sunday afternoon in these winter months. Sunday 5th December 2021 at 14:17hrs. I don’t think it’s too early to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2022.

    Mr. Fillingham,
Thank you for another quality instructional video. Southeast US bugs can be a pain, especially the biannual love bug invasion. I pre-treat bugs with a spray bottle filled with hydrogen peroxide. This methods works well on all of my vehicles. In addition, I try not to let the bugs “bake on” which can potentially damage paint.

Good point about the salt in the cleaning agent...that's why we never use washing up liquid!. The other good thing I have found is if you have to quickly rinse off the bike and put it away, I use my leaf blower to dry the bike off before putting it away.... Cheers, Steve

Having moved to the coast of California (never lived near the ocean) rust is a big worry to me. Washing it every week, it's insane to see how fast rust takes over.
The one thing that has made a huge difference is ACF50. I applied it 6 months ago and can't see any rust forming where I applied it yet. I'm glad someone at the garage bought it for me because that thing really does work. Be warned you must be very careful not to apply it on wheels, brakes, or where your feet/hands hold to the motorcycle. Also it smokes like crazy first time you apply it for the next 10 minutes so do it outdoors.

Nice one Stuart....more or less what I’ve done for many years and loved the insect removal bit. I’d only add that it’s important to read the manufacturers manual as some bikes have ‘areas’ to take special care of, and also I put little ‘shower caps’ over the silencers to stop excessive water going down the exhaust. Looking forward to the next one!

You're missing a trick Stuart - I never dry a bike without using a warm air dryer over the entire machine. Quick to do, eliminates any possibility of scratching paint/chrome work with cloths, (however soft and contaminate free they may be) and of course air will get in to all the nooks and cranies a bike has, your cloth will not. Everywhere you used a microfibre cloth the warm air dryer can do it quicker and more efficiently. Same goes for cars, and I have a few.....

I know it turns the black casings grey'ish, but when it's dry I finish the engine casings off with either WD40, or more recently - following your advice - GT85, both of which gives the black engine casings that lustre. My question is... Is there anything wrong with using Gunk ? Many thanks in advance for your advice and opinion. Cheers, Tim

Hey Stuart. Thanks for an updated version of the Full Fillingham (aka, FF 2.0). In your previous cleaning video, back when you introduced FF 1.0, you said to spray cleaner only on the lower half of the bike, but in this video you spray it on all of the bike. Is that a slight change in the method, or is it due to the change in cleaner brand?
I know it couldn't be because you thought the salt in your previous cleaner would harm the paintwork, since back then you were under the impression that it didn't contain salt. So I'm curious if there's another reason.

    • @stuartfillingham7011
      @stuartfillingham7011 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Hi jorge good question. The wash off is a more sympathetic cleaner than my old cleaner so it doesn't strip off wax, it also contains polymers so it helps reinforce the wax layer. Hence the slight method change.

Hi Stuart, Great video, need to ask, a couple of times you mention that you must not let the "Wash Off", dry and to keep it wet, can I ask why and what would happen if it did dry? It would be good to know, Cheers

@@stuartfillingham Cheers for that , I'm just trying to understand why despite the product containing NO salt , corrosion and rust is starting to appear and I live in a country where the roads are not salted. This is evident around the tops of the rear shocks, gear selector linkage. even the horn screws and the steel bands (that look not unlike Jubilee clips) around the rear of the EFI. Hasten to add my bike is never stored wet nor damp.

I can't find silkolene products in the states, and Amazon says it's no longer available. Any suggestions for salt free automotive shampoo. Any help is appreciated. Safe riding.

Hey Stuart, watched both these parts.. None of the silkolene products are available in India, and then ones available aren't at the same affordability as they would be if in the UK.. Plenty of shampoos and waxes available though. So sorted on that front. Was wondering if you could help out for any DIY solutions that could be made for the wash off and pro prep products?

Silkolene is far from cheap here Zain. The problem with your request is that any alternatives I might suggest may also not be available to you. just do a little research and use the best you can get your hands on.
