New roots developing, a very good sign that your Catasetums like their new setup. Your FCR After Dark Black Pearl has developed new growths to warrant watering, but still err on the side of caution. Personally, on the introduction of water and fertiliser, don't allow the sphagnum moss to get fully wet, perhaps the first quarter, then the rest in stages during the month of July. This one has five good months to grow an extensive root system. Likewise, with Orchidglade, start off slowly and build up. Your Monnierara Millennium Magic 'Witchcraft' is a single bulb, a bit like the back bulb I'm trying to grow on of my Orchidglade. This has developed a tiny new growth with roots, however, it is a long way off from being watered. I will only begin watering when the bulb shows signs of distress (shrinking). It will take 12-15 months, before it's out of danger. That's why I like Catasetums, it's the challenge, and I never give up!

A challenge they really are! At the moment I'm still holding of watering. Only in the water reservoirs underneath the pots there's approximately 1 cm of water, a bit more for the orchid glade as it already has a few longer roots but no water is touching the sphagnum moss yet. The only water they can get at the moment is when I mist the orchids hanging above them but that's just a fine mist that cools of the plants a bit. Thanks for your help and please keep on giving it as with these I really need it. Although I'm not a heavy waterer, I still am afraid to loose these. They were/are expensive orchids and there's a good reason for that. I keep on doing my best teacher 😇🥰

I haven't watered them yet but only put in some water in the water pots, to raise the humidity as the air here is very dry at the moment. We should have had some rain last night but clouds passed by without leaving a drop behind. Temps dropped to around 25°C and will stay this way coming week. love the cooler breeze that's blowing now.
