I hope Eric and Matt have an opportunity at partial ownership of RPM someday. They do amazing work, are entertaining to watch, and these days finding someone that does good work that is fun to be around is getting more rare by the day. Cheers to these guys and the whole RPM team!

If YOU were the owner of RPM, what percentage ownership would YOU give to Matt and Eric?
What about Steve? It could be argued that his contribution, to the success of RPM, is greater than the people turning wrenches or “hitting the UP arrow”. What percentage does he get?
What about the brother? He is the public facing employee for the business on the phone and at the front desk. He interacts with each and every customer. What percentage ownership does he get?
If you give each of the four employees a 5% ownership stake which entities them to 5% of the annual net revenue...that decreases Frans take-home pay by 20%.
The Risk was taken by Fran to open the business. It could be argued that the main draw of RPM is Fran’s Tuning. If the business folds, Fran gets the shaft and the employees move on to the next job, likely, without missing a paycheck.
I like the Techs and recognize their contribution to the YT show and the business. I’m glad in our capitalist system, the employees are allowed to work where they choose, employers are able to hire and fire as they decide and if they want to retain their best employees, they can decide for themselves who deserves a pay raise or even partial ownership in the business.
I would never give Steve a raise until he starts wearing his hat like an Adult, instead of a T-Ball player.

From being a business owner myself, yes, I do take on the risk, but I also know and understand that my success would never be titled as such without my team. I have always found that when you have skin in the game, you work harder, longer, and provide a better quality of work. To structure something like this you’d have to be there for a while to ensure a commitment, but I’d say after being there for 5 years, you earn your 5% (1% each year for the next 5). After 10 years, you have a 5% stake in the company.
Yes, does that mean Frans pay will “decrease”, maybe, but with the amount of business I see (admittedly I don’t know 100%) that business must at least be increasing their previous years forecasted revenue by a minimum of 5%, so if anything, maybe his income wouldn’t grow as fast as it currently is, but in the end, I can ensure that it is worth it having deployed this same system myself.
I don’t know what draws people to RPM, I’d like to think Frans beard ;) To be serious though, like the engines they work on, no one thing works without the other. Fran can time cars all day, but if there’s no one there to work on them, what is there to tune? If there’s a bunch of cars that have been worked on, but I tuner, what’s all the work for if it doesn’t run smoothly? If the brother isn’t there to accept orders and orchestrate scheduling and parts purchases, what cars are there to work on or tune? If Steve isn’t there, what increases the awareness of the RPM name? It could be argued that it would still grow via “word of mouth”, but I can assure you it would be at a much slower pace. They all need each other and being a business owner requires so many sacrifices. I think 20% in the end it’s a perfect sacrifice for this engine to run.

I would agree with you, IF the employees being granted ownership shares have the ability to increase bottom-line profitability beyond what it is currently.
The Financial Services Reps who work for you are already, likely being compensated via a commission structure, that rewards them for each incremental dollar that they bring in.
The contribution that Eric and Matt is restricted by the numbers of hour in the work day. It seems that they are already working full-time, so they cannot drive incremental revenue themselves. For this reason, it is also difficult to justify and large increase in pay, because it would decrease net profits.
It’s a balancing act for Fran. What do I need to pay to hire top flight tech AND keep them Happy. Will I have enough leftover to afford a few Banshees and a Racecar?
Great numbers. I have the same setup as the white 1LE. Even though I have A8, I made 480/490 which is pretty awesome for FBO car. I did do a comparison between lt2 vs msd intake if any one is interested in seeing it.

I have the same setup but with tsp headers and made 443 on e 85. Do the kooks headers make that much of a difference
No they don’t make that much difference somethings wack on your car I have a 18 ss 1LE same set up but with a Cold air inductions intake and ran 506 rwhp and 492 rwtq with like 60% E somethings running weird on your baby get her checked

@@RaceProvenMotorsports yeah I’ve noticed a difference in Las Vegas. I had to get my car retuned once I moved here from 93-91 plus a flex fuel tune.
So when tuning full E on a NA car is the target AFR still 12.8-13.1 at WOT? Same with only running 20% E?
It just converts a lambda value into an AFR. It doesn't know what fuel is in there unless you change the reporting to show an ethanol afr. Showing the same AFR just means the target lambda in PE is the same. Fran probably thinks in terms of lambda or EQ but the average person only knows afr, probably why dyno charts show afr.
@@LT1ZF6 yeah tuning in lambda is always 1 no matter the fuel. I'm just trying to understand that the stoich for E is 9.8. But in AFR it would still be 12.8 to 13.1 right?
@@1KR_B gotcha. The 12.8-13.1 on gas means a lambda of 0.87-0.89. If the dyno plot is still showing 12.8 to 13.1 while tuning on E, it means Fran is still tuning to the same 0.87-0.89 lambda. If you convert that to afr on a theoretical flex fuel mix that is exactly 85%E, it is for example: 0.87*9.8 = 8.5:1 AFR. This would correspond to your 9.8:1 stoich value. As soon as E% is different, though, all of that changes. BUT... as long as Fran hits the same lambda on any E mix, that dynojet wideband plot shown on the TV will still say 12.8-13.1.

@@killasmoke2142 for the money its good. but an msd and a hi ram are both better. In other words if you stay in the game and keep wanting to get faster you will end up with a ported msd or ported hi ram. so you lose money buying it.

So did mine, with the same mods but with 2” headers, off road pipes and msd (not ported). I do have a 10 spd auto but 65 HP? Not saying anything neg but I am very curious about this . Maybe I should make a app? 🤷♂️
don't get too wrapped up with comparing dyno numbers. Most cars are only going to make 475-485 with those mods on most dynos.
Dyno is only happy after we mod it. On stock cars is right in line. Funny how it works

That SS sounds like shit. Someone should have told him that the stock mufflers flow really well. I did the ARH 1 7/8" and their 3" x pipe with no cats on my SS, no difference in power with and without mufflers. Sounds like a truck, put the mufflers back on.
