Tom, awesome mods! The Inkbird under the shelf is pure genius, my friend. Like you I use my grill and smoker year round ( I’m in Kansas). I’ll be copying your mods on my Webers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
You make it look so easy Tom!!! Drilling into a kettle would usually make us want to shed a tear, but you made it look safe and simple!! Love this temperature probe hole, what a great feature for a kettle!!!🔥🔥👏👏
Hey Tom that is one awesome Weber Kettle :-) Another great mod :-) I love step drills :-) Great tutorial, a "BIG" thumbs up :-) Stay SAFE!!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Good video Tom! I’m not sure if you touched on it in this video, but I was a little disappointed in SnS for not deburring the contact side of the probe port cover. Mine had sharp edges on the backside from the laser cut. I ended up breaking the burrs with a file and touching up the paint. Just something to note, as it would scratch up the outer finish of the kettle.
Tom - I'm totally baffled! I can't figure it out. Which do you like more - cooking on your grills, voiding warranties, or playing with power tools? 😂 Very nicely done mod! Bravo & kudos to ya!
To drill or not to drill. That is the question! Great video Tom! I will try to find where you did Burgers on the Tom Horseman pizza pan diffuser plate.
If your referring to the stoker unit the SS 1” port is not mounted permanently I put it in and it is held in with two magnets. It is removed for cleaning
What is the inside and outside diameter size of the Inkbird blast tube where it connects to the kettle? I'm trying to determine if it will work with the BBQ Guru kettle adapter , rather than using Inkbird's included adapter. Thank You!
Nice mod Tom. I have a spare weber daisy wheel. Do you think it could work as a guru/smoke hole port cover if I mounted it on my bowl but just drilled out one daisy wheel hole?
Thanks for watching Sparky! It’s worth a try, however once you drill the hole that attaches the daisy wheel, you are then committed to it. I hate to say yes and have it not work..Sorry
LLLL. NOPE....I Don't believe That! It a Tom MOD!!! 👍👍 I Love It!!!!! And I bet Weber will be doing these upgrades in the future. We've talked about it.......and now I believe You have the Ultimate Kettle! 👍 That Stoker is gonna take your Mods to a new Level.......Lower and Slower, Over Night, through Bad Weather...... it won't matter! 👍 Metal On! \m/
I have a very picky complaint about this ash catcher which is, in some of the models it lifts and twists while this one you have to squeeze and lift. It's not as simple as the lift and twist!
I don't know why Weber omits features like this on so many grills - other than denying warranty claims from people modding their grills or eventually upselling to more "premium" models. Oh well, we still love em anyways ;-)
I just installed both of these items on my Weber 26 inch kettle. I installed the smoke hole above the holes used by Weber for their one touch system, but below the hardware for the charcoal grate. All went well, but I hope I didnt put the smoke hole a bit too high. :(. I think I couldve went a bit lower and still been ok. Do you think this will impact functionality of the hole is higher than Weber's?

Thanks for Watching! I appreciate your comments!
You had me going for a bit there, Tom. It's almost like Weber wants you to void your warranty! Awesome tutorial with no part left to the imagination.
Thanks! It’s allot fun, this voiding your warranty....
You make it look so easy Tom!!! Drilling into a kettle would usually make us want to shed a tear, but you made it look safe and simple!! Love this temperature probe hole, what a great feature for a kettle!!!🔥🔥👏👏
Thanks! It’s easy to do!
Appreciate the video and tips, Tom! Just ordered the probe port and smoke hole covers, looking forward to using with the Inkbird!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Nicely done Tom. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill!
Hey Tom that is one awesome Weber Kettle :-) Another great mod :-) I love step drills :-) Great tutorial, a "BIG" thumbs up :-) Stay SAFE!!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Thanks Fred! I appreciate you Watching!
Nice mod Tom, always enjoy these !
Thanks Lasse!
Great idea Tom. Going to add this to one of my Kettles.
Thanks Louis! It’s what is needed on a Weber kettle

Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback!
Good work Tom!
Thanks Fred!
Great video Tom where can I get that weber side table I have a 22 inch kettle? Thank You
Thanks for Watching Bill! SNS grills
I need to make a probe port on my WSM Thanks for sharing Tom
Thanks Mike! Easy to do!
Looks good Tom!! Wonder if that shelf would work on the 26" Weber kettle??
Thanks Randy! I don’t think it would
Beautiful and nice, but don't INBIRD blow the ashes on the food?
Thanks for watching! Nope
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I ordered the blower and now I need to drill a hole, but I'm thinking where would be more appropriate 🙂
How far apart were the pilot holes on the smoke hole? I just got the kit and am going to install it this weekend. Thanks!
Thanks for Watching! Drill one first than lay it out for the second
The mod master at it again! Awesome improvements and great how to video 👍🏻. Nice job as always sir!
Thanks Michael! Easy enough to do!
Thanks Tom! How is the Inkbird steel connector port held held in place?
Thanks for watching Sparky! Using magnets super glued to the aluminum diamond plate
Do u plan on painting the shelf to match? Nice video
Thanks for Watching! I’m thinking about keeping it as is....
Tom - I'm totally baffled! I can't figure it out. Which do you like more - cooking on your grills, voiding warranties, or playing with power tools? 😂
Very nicely done mod! Bravo & kudos to ya!
Lol! Thanks for Watching Kenneth! I like it all!
Does the open smaller hole cause temp flucuations when you have probes going through it?
Thanks for Watching! Not that I’ve noticed
To drill or not to drill. That is the question! Great video Tom! I will try to find where you did Burgers on the Tom Horseman pizza pan diffuser plate.
Ohhh. That diffuser plate! Nope didn’t try it on the pizza pan one, that’s just for low and slow...Thanks for Watching!
curious, do you perfer this probe port over a weber rubber grommet probe port install?
Thanks for Watching! They are both about the same
Tom, just did this mod. Where does SNS put their slow and sear in relation to the smoke hole?
Thanks for Watching David! Usually opposite of the smoke hole as much as possible
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thank you 👍
I bet when you go to bed your brain is only occupied with Weber hacks for tomorrow 😀
Thanks for Watching! Lol,,, sometimes...
Hé Tom, great Mod. Still a question. Now you can no longer get the ashes out of the kettle? the complete stroke is now blocked by the unit.
Thanks for Watching! Huh? In the video I show that the ash sweep works the same after the install as before the install.
If your referring to the stoker unit the SS 1” port is not mounted permanently I put it in and it is held in with two magnets. It is removed for cleaning
What size drill bit did you use for the bolts?
Thanks for watching Bryan! 3/8” if I remember right, confirm before you drill
What is the inside and outside diameter size of the Inkbird blast tube where it connects to the kettle? I'm trying to determine if it will work with the BBQ Guru kettle adapter , rather than using Inkbird's included adapter. Thank You!
Thanks for Watching Mike! OD is 1” not positive in the ID but 7/8” is pretty close
Hey Tom, Did SnS give you a template for the hole relationship to the probe/smoke cover for drilling? or did you figure the hole position yourself?
Thanks for Watching Brad! I’m the first that did it without any template
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Have you positioned a probe port in a Weber Performer? Or Fan port? Thanks Tom...
Thanks for Watching Brad! I’ve done both

@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks for the advice!
Nothing wrong with voiding a warranty to make something better! I do it all the time!
I agree! Thanks for watching!
NOTE: Just remember that any warranty is VOID after you drill any holes in the unit.
Lol! How many times did I state that?....Thanks for watching!
Warranty for what exactly? Its a bowl with a lid.
Exactly! Thanks for Watching!
LLLL. NOPE....I Don't believe That! It a Tom MOD!!! 👍👍

Thanks Ken! It would be awesome to se Weber do this,,,
I have a very picky complaint about this ash catcher which is, in some of the models it lifts and twists while this one you have to squeeze and lift. It's not as simple as the lift and twist!
Thanks for Watching Matthew! I hadn’t noticed
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ lol that was in no way connected to your video just been thinking about it for some time.
Understood

That's what it needed to be a real long low and slow. Unadulterated oxygen feed. 👍
Thanks John! Yes it did!
Just buy an sns kettle and you won't have to bother with this
Thanks for watching!
