Had my “cherry popped” with my first Virgin Voyage cruise on the Valiant Lady a week ago. I had the best time of my life so much so that I put a deposit down towards my next cruise hopefully next year. Great vlog! Thanks for all the great info.
We recently returned from our first ever voyage. We sailed on Valiant Lady from Miami to Puerto Plata and Bimini. It was a great time and having watched your videos ahead of our trip we had some good tips to keep in mind. We had brunch at Razzle Dazzle the first morning and it was our least favorite meal, but we ended up returning for dinner the last night (having been first on the wait list for Pink Agave and never got called) luckily it was a much more enjoyable meal. The ribeye was almost as good as at Pink Agave and the brazed lamb shank was a very nice surprise. Lucky Lotus looks and sounds good though. Overall we were impressed with our first time on a cruise ship and can see ourselves returning to Virgin Voyages. Thank you for providing us with these videos!
I’m really sad to see the old Razzle Dazzle menu go. Replacing the vegetables with more fried food is a disappointing turn from the healthy vibe they were previously going for. Thanks for the video.

Totally agree. I'm sure economics drove the decision but personally we loved the Razzle Dazzle dinner menu and so much more accessible than the other restaurants

Great video chaps. I was really hoping for a couple of new real wow factors to be honest with this refit. With all Virgin ships being more or less identical a new restaurant concept or something would been cool but there we go. Keep up the awesome content 🎉
We think that’s what they are trying to do with Lucky Lotus. Honestly on an evening it feels completely different to Razzle Dazzle. Heard rumours they might do similar to the other ships, but a different concept on each one. I (David) am hoping for an Indian one at some point! Thanks for watching as always boys :)
We didn’t manage to find out unfortunately. But did you know you can ask for a mattress topper from your room host? That makes the bed a lot more comfy, or so we’ve heard. We don’t mind a harder bed though. Thanks for watching 🤗

Parents were in the row behind us on the BA flight to Manchester and daddy was exhausted and almost fell into his seat. Sea you both on a future voyage and hope you are suitably refreshed and recovered. ❤

Honestly a bit disappointed there is no option for bottomless brunch anymore. Hopefully the smoked bacon side is still the brilliant candied bacon they had previously. You guys rock such a huge help. Thank you!

Great video guys. We are sailing with VV for the second time in June 2025, on the Scarlett Lady 2.0! Not thrilled by the changes around the pool but really excited to try Lucky Lotus!
It looks like a nice refurb project from Virgin, but I do think they've held back a little - they could've really made waves with this, but instead I feel like they've held back a little. Great to see those cabanas poolside - they look so much better than the current cabanas further back on the side of the ship!
I think they were constrained by the time they had in dry dock. We wont be surprised if they end up adding more as the ship continues its sailings! Thanks for watching :)

How are you two not 300 lbs each - I gained 10 lbs just watching you eat at Lucky Lotus - LOL. I will be on Scarlet Lady next September going from Southampton to Barcelona, so it will be interesting to see what they have changed/tweaked by then. Thanks for taking us along, you are busy travelling the globe. Just booked a another VV on SL before this video came out. The seating around the pool, the loungers are not very nice hope that will change. Did you see if the daybeds where still available on deck 16 near the sportscourt ? Wondering about the bao buns. Are they no longer at the Sun Club since they now are at the LL? The lucky lotus menu seems a definite downgrade for vegetarians At least give an option for brown rice and more than one main.There is already not the biggest choice on board in the other restaurants for them. I do like the Grounds Club Too upgrade. I am wondering if any changes have been made to the seating in The Aquatic Club? How cool to see the two l'ladies' in the same port. Enjoy your TA.

Really interesting seeing changes - not sure about the cabanas and hope Virgin don't start adding more and more add ons as its all really great all inclusive. We had one of the £300+ cabanas on sailing in Sept and our food went to the cabin because app didn't work properly and we gave up with the light for service after an hour - they are much larger than poolside ones and perfect for a really quiet afternoon - lots of naps taken !! Our daughter is vegetarian and she did think options were bit limited (shes offered to be a consultant to Richard if he'd like) - we are sailing Oct 2025 and can't wait ❤ Hopefully we never lose our love of Virgin
I’m hoping their instagram post where they talk about achievements this year, is an indication that they will keep things inclusive. They specifically mention not nickel and diming people! Where are you sailing?
@thedoddolds Any chance you can tell me what size cans they have on board for the non-alcoholic Heineken beer. I've been looking everywhere and cant seem to track that information. Wondering if it's a standard size 355ml can. Love your videos, my wife and I are sailing the Scarlet Lady in 9 days out of Miami, we have never been on a cruise. Great review guys...re Razzle Dazzle....not sure why they felt the need to change this, most people we spoke with whilst on Resilient Lady said they thought Test Kitchen was the most disappointig and needed a rethink....thoughts?
Thank you :) Test Kitchen is a personal preference thing I guess as we love it and it’s so different from the rest. But some people really aren’t keen on it!
Not a big fan of them taking away general seating for VIP beds when it was hard enough to get seating outside anyway (at least on our voyage). But Lucky Lotus looks great. I need to book another voyage!
Yeah I’m not sure how popular those VIP cabanas will be at the current price. Fingers crossed there’s some plans for the seating under the deck canopy either side of the pool though, that could help with busy sea days! Lucky lotus is a great change indeed! Thanks for watching ❤️

How exciting! Where are you going? As for your question, to be honest we’ve only really done Virgin so probably aren’t best qualified to answer that. However Virgin are super LGBTQIA+ friendly and we’ve heard others say they are the most inclusive cruise line :)
I bought another MNVV after 3 years on VV all in the Med. Scarlet Lady was very busy in October and was looking tired in areas. In hindsight not sure whether I will sail next year as prices have rocketed & once you have done Rockstar you can’t go backwards. The offers and deals just aren’t there now as the brand has established itself.
Thanks for watching. We would say it definitely feels fresher since the dry dock, so hopefully the tired look has gone. Understand what you mean about it being tough not doing rockstar when you have previously though 😂
I guess they might have been limited by what they could do within the two weeks? We keep saying they should replace the net at the back of the ship with another pool, preferably an infinity one looking over the wake!
All of these changes, except Grounds Club Too, are to the detriment of normal sailors and predictably only about making more money for the firm. Imho bad move Virgin.
What they desperately needed to do was redesign the Manor which is horrific space for Lola’s Library etc when grossly overcrowded with insufficient seating.
We’d agree that there is a definite more towards make more money (the VIP cabanas for example are far too expensive). But i guess businesses gotta business 😣. We’d say the redesign of Razzle dazzle decor is another nice touch for sailors though ❤️
That’s a good point. The upstairs areas always seem quiet, maybe they could do something with that (whilst still trying to offer a view of the stage) - tricky I know 😂

I think they send an initial tender out to port ahead of passengers, that one will contain all the bits and bobs they need to assemble - like the arrival tent, and water station etc. we’re not aware of any issues per say.

How are you two not 300 lbs each - I gained 10 lbs just watching you eat at Lucky Lotus - LOL. I will be on Scarlet Lady next September going from Southampton to Barcelona, so it will be interesting to see what they have changed/tweaked by then. It will be my first VV cruise, so I am very excited!!! As always, I love going along with you two on your adventures - keep up the excellent work!

I am curious to see the brunch menu. There are some items that were my absolute favorite and I am really hoping they didn’t mess with that menu by taking too much away. I am excited to see her when she arrives in Miami. We are the first sailing out of Miami next week!

Thanks for taking us along, you are busy travelling the globe. Just booked a another VV on SL before this video came out. The seating around the pool, the loungers are not very nice hope that will change. Did you see if the daybeds where still available on deck 16 near the sportscourt ? Wondering about the bao buns. Are they no longer at the Sun Club since they now are at the LL? The lucky lotus menu seems a definite downgrade for vegetarians At least give an option for brown rice and more than one main.There is already not the biggest choice on board in the other restaurants for them. I do like the Grounds Club Too upgrade. I am wondering if any changes have been made to the seating in The Aquatic Club? How cool to see the two l'ladies' in the same port. Enjoy your TA.

Really interesting seeing changes - not sure about the cabanas and hope Virgin don't start adding more and more add ons as its all really great all inclusive. We had one of the £300+ cabanas on sailing in Sept and our food went to the cabin because app didn't work properly and we gave up with the light for service after an hour - they are much larger than poolside ones and perfect for a really quiet afternoon - lots of naps taken !! Our daughter is vegetarian and she did think options were bit limited (shes offered to be a consultant to Richard if he'd like) - we are sailing Oct 2025 and can't wait ❤ Hopefully we never lose our love of Virgin
I’m hoping their instagram post where they talk about achievements this year, is an indication that they will keep things inclusive. They specifically mention not nickel and diming people! Where are you sailing?

As far as we can remember it is the standard sized cans. Don’t quote us on that though 😂!

Great review guys...re Razzle Dazzle....not sure why they felt the need to change this, most people we spoke with whilst on Resilient Lady said they thought Test Kitchen was the most disappointig and needed a rethink....thoughts?
Thank you :) Test Kitchen is a personal preference thing I guess as we love it and it’s so different from the rest. But some people really aren’t keen on it!
Not a big fan of them taking away general seating for VIP beds when it was hard enough to get seating outside anyway (at least on our voyage). But Lucky Lotus looks great. I need to book another voyage!
Yeah I’m not sure how popular those VIP cabanas will be at the current price. Fingers crossed there’s some plans for the seating under the deck canopy either side of the pool though, that could help with busy sea days!

I can’t wait for my virgin Virgin cruise this summer: General question: in your cruising experience, which cruise lines/ships seem more accepting of LGBT couples?
How exciting! Where are you going? As for your question, to be honest we’ve only really done Virgin so probably aren’t best qualified to answer that. However Virgin are super LGBTQIA+ friendly and we’ve heard others say they are the most inclusive cruise line :)
I bought another MNVV after 3 years on VV all in the Med. Scarlet Lady was very busy in October and was looking tired in areas. In hindsight not sure whether I will sail next year as prices have rocketed & once you have done Rockstar you can’t go backwards.
The offers and deals just aren’t there now as the brand has established itself.
Thanks for watching. We would say it definitely feels fresher since the dry dock, so hopefully the tired look has gone. Understand what you mean about it being tough not doing rockstar when you have previously though 😂
Kind of surprised they’ve nothing nothing with the swimming pool, since its small size was commented on by many sailors.
I guess they might have been limited by what they could do within the two weeks? We keep saying they should replace the net at the back of the ship with another pool, preferably an infinity one looking over the wake!

All of these changes, except Grounds Club Too, are to the detriment of normal sailors and predictably only about making more money for the firm. Imho bad move Virgin.
What they desperately needed to do was redesign the Manor which is horrific space for Lola’s Library etc when grossly overcrowded with insufficient seating.
We’d agree that there is a definite more towards make more money (the VIP cabanas for example are far too expensive). But i guess businesses gotta business 😣. We’d say the redesign of Razzle dazzle decor is another nice touch for sailors though ❤️
That’s a good point. The upstairs areas always seem quiet, maybe they could do something with that (whilst still trying to offer a view of the stage) - tricky I know 😂
Nice video! Thanks for being "on the spot" with the early look. I think Virgin was trying to address under used areas and features. It's probably still a work in progress. Would like more info on the vibe at Grounds Club 2 at night!

@@TheDoddolds your editing software should allow you to select double track audio for stereo. If not that, there should be a setting for audio balancing in which will allow you to balance audio for both left and right headset. 😃😃😃😃
