This video totally changed my view of Virgin Voyages! I was so confused by what it was supposed to be and what their target audience exactly was, but now it seems like a great adult-only cruise experience. That incredible, all-included food alone makes it seem worth it to cruise with them now!
Sweet Jesus, this is the first TH-cam post that literally all the comments have been answered by you. Wow, now that takes a lot of devotion and a standing ovation. Oh, um, nice review, by the way. Looks like an interesting cruise but, meh.
Between you and Gary Bembridge, you've convinced me to give cruising a try. I'm disabled. The only thing that really gave me motivation to keep walking was my family's fear that I wouldn't be able to get out of the house in a fire. Seriously. That's how much I hated exercise. Now I'm motivated to make sure I can walk half the length of a cruise ship without exhausting myself. My physiotherapist is delighted. My family is delighted. So between you and Gary, you've literally changed the life of a disabled woman. Why do I want to cruise? Because I can go out to a great restaurant, watch live theatre, watch a cooking-or-something demonstration, try a spa treatment .... all without having to get in a car and drive from place A to place B. All with walking half the length of a cruise ship. (Maybe a little more sometimes.) Between you, not only have you given me motivation to walk, you've given me an absolutely priceless gift: access to culture. Lin Manuel Miranda and their team gave me (and others like me) access to almost-live theatre, and you have no idea how much I binge-watch Hamilton. But you've given me access to REALLY live theatre. And to so much else. So very much else. I hope that I and my best friend enjoy cruising. I do think we will. I know - thanks to you - that if we don't like the first cruise line we go on, we can try another. And thanks to Gary, I know that if we take a 3 or 4 night short cruise as a test cruise, we'll probably have a lot of people using it as a party location. So if we like the cruise 'except for the other cruisers', we'll try a longer cruise. You've both given us so much. So very very very much. Thank you again.
I'm so motivated, btw, that I checked the length of the P&O Australia ships, and calculated where on my street I need to walk to. If I can get to the blue house and back, I can walk half the length of a ship. If I can get to the corner and back, I can walk the full length!
Emma is just a genuine, awesome, and kind person. It always makes my day whenever I see a new video from her. I know I’ll learn a ton of unbiased things and have a great time watching.
Still not a cruiser, but if I was, I think I'd be sold on this. Also, Emma seems awesome, she likes tea, salt and vinegar crisps and she's pathalogically early. These are all traits I value in human beings.
@jimjim mernard I suspect I might be, since I watch these vids with so much interest. I'm just not much of a traveller, I was germphobic before 2020 and watching The Poseidon Adventure at a very impressionable age has made me very concerned about getting on a ship! But if those things weren't such a problem for me, I think I'd like to go on a cruise.
@@westonbadke5434 I think you're possibly reading a lot into my preference for salt and vinegar crisps. I'm a lot more boring than my crisp preference implies.
@@westonbadke5434 I'd never cruise with a company which would allow me to be naked outside of my room. Actually I'd never cruise full stop, I hate that kind of Butlins ethic.
Emma! I was in the production cast when you came on the SI and I was so pleasantly surprised seeing our cast in this video :) I I have been so curious about Virgin-thanks for the tour!! :) Hope our paths cross again someday on the sea!
I really enjoyed your review of the Scarlet Lady. It Included the good, the bad, the things that might be questionable or surprising, etc. It really makes it easy for people to decide if it is a cruise they would like to try or not.
Emma, this is one of your best cruise reviews ever, primarily because of the extraordinarily detailed explanations of your likes and dislikes. I also have wondered if I’d like a Virgin Cruise and thanks to you, the choice would be far simpler. Your creation of charts for different tech on different cruise lines is BRILLIANT! Thank you! I found your admission of being lost or confused a good portion of the cruise, not only endearing, but quite relatable. As for your upcoming Disney adventure, I’m excited for you. I’ve taken one with my young daughter, but not in - oh my gosh - 18 years, so I guess anything I say about the experience may well have changed. But I will say this: I was deeply impressed with the service, cleanliness, cabin types and also that there were a few adult only activities - a welcome respite for parents. I was afraid I would be bored or feel silly on a “Disney Cruise”. I grew up loving older cartoons, but I’m not a rabid Disney fan per se. That said, knowing my 4 year old at the time was having a blast was worth the pretend factor. Perhaps you are a major Disney fan or are taking a young relative. I’m not sure how I would have felt going on that cruise if I’d been traveling alone or with only another adult and no kids in tow. But DO let us know how it goes!
That was the best review I've ever seen, Emma! After watching this, I think everyone will know if this is the ship for them or not. It's not for me, but I'm 62 and not their target audience. If my English friend Ann wants to go on it, I'd go & I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but I wouldn't choose it. Thanks!
I am 66 and just spent a fabulous time on the ship. It does appeal to a 'younger' group of voyagers and most of the people on the cruise were younger than me. That said, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable 3 days. The food is so good, it's hard to describe it. I am vegan and I was able to enjoy some of the best vegan food I have ever had - even on vegan cruises!!! I think you would enjoy the ship if you get the chance.
I've never been on a cruise but this sounds more my style. Treating your employees well and the forward thinking way of doing things is much nicer than having to dress up for dinner 😆
Wow I know what line I'm gonna take my first cruise with. I work customer service and the way they treat there staff is all I needed to hear. Being served by genuinely happy staff is just a whole different experience. I absolutely love that.
Thank you Emma! I massively appreciate you mentioning when there are good vegan options on a ship since it's my #1 concern with cruises. I've been only on one cruise, the Carnival Liberty and I was probably 14. Watching your videos has 100% made me want to become a cruiser and I appreciate you showing you can be "cheap" and still have a blast. My first experience was pretty miserable to be honest, because we just got on the ship with 0 knowledge of ANYTHING. And thanks for this review, it was quite helpful
Incredibly informative. My ship experience was as a child on the original Rotterdam and Queen Elizabeth (one downside was a huge storm we hit on the way back to NY in 1958 when *everyone* was sea sick for 24 hrs - not pleasant) so I'm nostalgic for going to sea not going shopping, but I have to admit this ship looks interesting even it it doesn't look like a "real" ship. That free ice cream bar would give me a great deal of trouble, though, loving ice cream as I do.
No need to look further than this video. What an amazing, concise, articulate, and honest review. I cannot imagine any bit of info that one would be looking for that wasn’t shared here with a truthful opinion. Fantastic Emma!
Brilliant second impression review. Thanks. Appreciate that they offer salt and vinegar crisps. My fave when made with actual vinegar. Possibly there is minimal info provided about onboard layouts and services to create a sense of discovery and adventure for the duration of the cruise experience. Over time, cruisers will post "insider secrets" and future cruisers will be able to get a sense of what's in store for them no doubt. The hammock looks like it rocks on the balcony, literally!! That seems like a great way to spend a vacation relaxing onboard. Brilliant idea.
(I don't think they have crisps onboard, or at least I didn't see any. That was my packet at home. Ha ha ;) ) Thanks for watching, that hammock was sooooo much fun 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises thanks for clarifying. When I heard salt and vinegar crisps, I was just so surprised that someone else really likes them that I merged your cruise experience with them. I'll pay better attention next time 😜
You are so polite and confident when speaking, I wish you were the voice inside my head. Your video is so immersive that I felt I was there the entire time. Excellent review. Keep up the great work.
I’m so glad you enjoyed your time and the Scarlet Lady. Like you I was a bit apprehensive about her before my cruise but like you I also really enjoyed myself. It’s good that Virgin have listened and resolved some of the issues you and other influencers had highlighted. I saw them further improvements will be made in response to reviews and criticisms made over the past few weeks. I agree that very many people have enjoyed cruising on more traditional lines will enjoy a cruise on the Lady . Maybe not the diehard Cunard fans though.
You are adorable! I love watching your joyful expressions, positive attitude and hearing about your experiences. I’ve been on only two cruises in my life but your reviews and tips have convinced me to plan another cruise. Thank you, love!
Thanks so much for reviewing this cruise. This one is definitely not my style, and I wouldn't have known that without this review! I love your videos! I hope you enjoy your Disney cruise. They are my favorite cruise line by far!

I learned a lot from your videos and was able to choose the perfect cruise for me and my family." - "Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with cruise trips. You have inspired me and helped me make the right decision in choosing the right cruise for me." ♥️❤
Nice video. Glad you had a good time. Virgin's target market seems to be working professionals in their 30s-50s who want to cruise without kids. Also, who don't want to be nickel and dimed (free wifi, free specialty dining, free soda, etc). The pool situation is a big negative. Also the tattoo parlor is a gimmick.
Agreed. Virgin is a BIG NO for me too! I want some luxury and not punk. It's Celebrity ships for me (used to love RCCL but new ships too large and too gimmicky for those without kids).
@@EmmaCruises I think Virgin Voyages is not for everyone, but I do think they do appeal to a large 'market' of people who may have been on a cruise or two before and wanted something different. You've done an excellent job with this video in highlighting some of those differences. For me, be a vegan gay 'senior' (and young at heart), it was a fantastic 3 days. The staff is top rate and the food is beyond amazing (vegan choices are available in all eateries). The food at The Test Kitchen was some of the best I have ever eaten anywhere! There's a very relaxed atmosphere aboard which really appealed to me. The crew were very engaging; the captain was checking out how our excursion embarking was going and we couldn't even tell he was the captain! There's no evidence of pretense or ego; everyone was very helpful. I do think they need to add some wall paintings to the hallways on the cabin levels. There's just too much gray!
I cruised VV with my best friend in January 2023. We are both seniors and female. We each had a balcony room. There have been many changes and updates to the cruise line since this video. Live music and entertainment around the ship. Live music on stage. The app works better but still has its issues. This cruise is definitely for all ages, very inclusive and in many ways, unique. Some of the things that drew me to this cruise were no children, gourmet restaurants, a hip atmosphere, chic and modern decor, interesting activities (a workshop where The Test Kitchen restaurant taught to make an hors d’oeuvre and provided instruction on how best to photograph food.) All of the crew were amazing. Caveat: this cruise was about 30% full. Since I don’t like crowds or waiting in line this made the cruise especially terrific for me.
Wow… Totally changed my mind on this ship.. Love running so the upper deck is fab…and the gym looks great too… The prom deck looks fabulous with all the seating.. Love all the food included..and the soft drinks free… The food looks delicious… Love the scarlet theme…. Shame about the storage, the bathroom looks a bit “ wee”…lol Great having so many USB’s and the gadget to control everything! Couldn’t wait to get home today and watch it…( Bronnie) xx
Emma, you're my new TH-cam crush! I'm planning my first cruise this August (on Royal Caribbean) and I've found your channel invaluable in my planning. Thank you for doing what you do!
Honestly i've never been super interested in cruising but this cruise sounds like the right cruise line for me. The casual and very open vibe feels just right.
Your format, videography, voice overs, editing, etc. are excellent. One of the best out there. Straight and to the point without gawd awful background music.
Happy crew, happy cruise 🚢. Seems obvious but some cruise lines don’t seem to believe that anymore, Thanks for the review, Emma! BTW my wife says your nails are to die for?
Thanks for the review! I am booked on the valiant Lady in November western caribbean. The deals are great right now. $200 onboard credit and $100 extra bar tab when you pre load $300. I like the "modern trendy" and I have also heard great things about the food.
Thanks for this review, Emma! I now know I need to book my dinner reservations as early as possible and I love your dresses! I've been obsessed w/ this cruise line since I first discovered it in Feb 2020. I had 2 cruises cancelled ... I'm booked for a Mediterranean cruise July 2022, but I can't wait: So, I booked a 4-night cruise out of Miami in Nov this year. From your review and other Influencers' reviews, I think it's going to be a blast! I just want to go someplace where I can dance all night long. :-)
Hey Larea, thanks so mcuh for watching. I'm so excited for you!!! That'll be amazing in the Meediterranean... she's really designed for the sunshine :)
You will love this ship and your voyage! I found if I had any questions about my room or the ship, the staff at Sailor Services (onboard) were very helpful. If you want to dance all night long, you're in luck. And book a room on deck 14. I don't dance all night long, and the music kept me awake until late into the night ;-)
Yay we made it in the video ;) Completely agree with everything you mentioned! We enjoyed our time onboard much better this time round than in March 2020 and was great to meet you again :)
Great Review Emma. Now I know what to tell my clients about Virgin. As you well know, it's not uncommon for large ships to have smaller pools. Sloshing water on a moving vessel is an engineering nightmare, they would eliminate the pools all together I think if it were up to the designers. Funny the muster drill looks like the safety video on the virgin flights as well. Keep up the great work! P24 all the way!!
I am an only child (well, adult child now at almost 40. Lol) and usually when I cruised with my parents, they get a suite and I get an inside cabin(dad has offered to get me a balcony, but like you, I find inside rooms just fine-especially as dad usually have to pay the double price as I’m alone in my cabin). My favorite cruises have been those where I get an inside room just across from or very near my parents. The concierge or other workers often notice I’m with my parents in their suite, going back and forth down the hall from my cabin to theirs or around them on the ship, so they’ll usually wave me into the suite/concierge only spots like lounges or restaurants with my parents, and even sometimes when one of them isn’t with me. We haven’t cruised since covid began, but I hope cruising gets more “back to normal” soon.
Thanks for this wonderful review. This is one of the best reviews of a cruise line I've seen. I will have to say after watching it that I will not be booking a cruise on this cruiseline. I've been cruising for a very long time, and this much "change" to the standard ways of doing things just would not work for me - at all. Can't wait to watch more of your reviews!
I have to say, you are one of my favourite travel TH-camrs, I could listen to your voice for hours. Love the videos Emma, can't wait for what comes next. Regent Suite maybe? lolololol.
Virgin solves pretty much all the problems that put me off cruising until now. I wish they did some more interesting itineraries than what they offer(ed) so far, but even if they don't, I would absolutely love to do a transatlantic crossing with them once they get rid of the covid nonsense. I haven't bean on a real cruise ship so far but I've done some small local minicruises this summer and the last autumn and I absolutely love living on a ship. Virgin seems to be a great option to take away my cruise virginity :)
Thank you for your review! The others I've watched were not in the target demographic that Virgin wanted. Your perspective is far more similar to mine than the other reviews, even if I'm a bit older. I'm not even going to argue about your favorite crisps flavor because you are 100% correct!
Thank you so much. Perfect example of information without jabber. Right to the point, didn’t seem swayed by opinion, just given precise information. We cruse in October, after being cancelled 6 times…i don’t know can’t remember, but I appreciated your no frills, to the point, review. Some make it scary as to the non-traditional cruisers and some say it’s no big deal, but your review was RIGHT ON POINT! Thank you!
Salt & Vinegar is also the best Potato Chip. lol! Great video! The name of the Ice Cream place tickled me and the events looked interesting so may book one day.
Sounds awesome to me, but I'm an adult with an easygoing sense of humor. I can see how the double-entendre could be off-putting for more conservative cruisers, but hopefully people do their homework and book the type of cruise that suits them. This is perfect niche marketing. Post college young professionals who haven't settled down to marriage and kids yet, but have outgrown frat house party atmosphere. Hopefully Virgin can attract enough repeat passengers to build this market.
That was a really fair review. We were looking forward to your new thoughts because your first impressions mirrored ours. First off, if you think "Lick Me Till Ice Cream" is in bad taste, this is definitley not the ship for you. :) I can see missing the music onboard because I bet that's one of those things you don't really think about until it's not there. But that food looks absolutely ridiculous. That's what made us book in the first place, it just looks so good. I will disagree with you that I think dill pickle crisps get the edge over salt and vinegar, but they're both good. I'm hoping they will add the map features before We did book a cruise back in 2020 (cancelled) which was rescheduled for July 2021 (cancelled) and now hopefully we will sail July 2022. I do like that they seem to have listened in terms of the cabins and keeping the bed in place unless asked to convert. I will never understand the decision on the postage stamp pool for a Caribbean based ship, but that's about the only thing I see that I won't like prior to boarding. I guess the cancellations have been good for one thing, we've upgraded twice and will be in a Cheeky Corner Suite which will come with drawers! :) Thanks again Emma for a great second look at the Virgin experience. It's super helpful!
WE will be on the Scarlet Lady on Dec 5th. Thank you for this review and looks like it changed you mind about a few things. I cant wait to sail on her and hopefully meet Lucy if she is still on contract (love her channel)
We are so glad they listened to many of the criticisms. After your preview tour we decided Virgin Voyages wasn’t for us. Now we are thinking we might want to give the Scarlet Lady a chance. Thanks for sharing your update with us, Emma!
For a tech focused cruise line, it’s disappointing to hear you having issues with their app. From a scale from 0 to 10 how would rate their cookies? It was awesome that you were able to meet Lucy, love her channel.
The app was sooo annoying, it has 1.9*'s in the app store. Ha ha, hopefully they fix it they're updating it with bug fixes all the time. The cookies were good, hmmm.... 8/10. They get good points for variety ;)
The pool still makes me worried as I've seen scarlet lady in Miami and doing Caribbean work. But I'm glad that virgin is listening to their customers. Lovely video Emma!
Great review, Emma. I'm glad that they changed some things on the ship from the last time. I do like Virgin's drink package called Bar loot. It's a wonderful deal and if one person gets it in the Cabin, everyone else doesn't have to get it as well. This year you pay $300 for the Bar loot and you get another $125 from Virgin on top of that. And once you get this special deal, this deal will be available for you for all future cruiese.
Oo, yes. Most people seemed to have the loot, I didn't need that at all though didn't drink enough for that. I didn't know it was available on the future cruises though!
I am more for smaller ships like the Seaborn yachts or maybe a transatlantic on Cunard but this genuinely seems like a lot of fun and not just a whole bunch of people crammed into an arcade area like a few others. The whole thing seems to have a goal. I get that some people‘s tastes are different and that’s fine we all have our own taste on different types of cruises and everything else but I had no idea that this was an option and I really wanna check it out. Thank you so much for this video and your channel!
Excellent review, very comprehensive. It absolutely convinced me that Virgin will NOT be on any of my "to do lists", but that's why I watch Cruise videos. The design elements of the ship really turn me off. It looks so sterile! I did not see one comfortable chair in any of the stateroom or eating venues. Admittedly, I'm getting older but love to cruise and to party but nothing shown really appealed to me. I guess I will stick to Celebrity or even Royal Caribbean. Thanks again for your insights.
excellent description of the ship. As I enjoy the Princess line ships. This one doesn't appear to be for me. In my 60's (but young at heart), I like the comforts of the room and the theatre and some of the other things that the Scarlet lady doesn't have (like better sized bathroom). Thx so much for a brilliant run down of this ship.
Thank you so much Emma. You touched on literally everything I wanted to know. I really appreciate you giving us all the details. I definitely want to try Virgin Voyages. I love variety and just small differences will be enough for me. It’s a touch out of my budget right now but I am keeping my eye on it!
@@EmmaCruises One of the things I totally enjoyed about my voyage was the design of the interior public spaces. They were very bright with lots of natural light from outside. Other ships I have been on had many dark passageways and made me feel like I was on a ship. The Scarlet Lady is more a resort-type voyage and not a cruising ship. My disappointment was that I couldn't get to sample all the food onboard as there are SO MANY restaurants. I will be booking another voyage on the Scarlet Lady just for the food!
Hi Emma, thank you for your great review of the Scarlet Lady, it was very helpful, and interesting to hear the comparison to your first visit. As a Brit living in the USA, I love to hear your Britishisims...but I have to disagree on the salt and vinegar..Walkers Cheese and Onion definitely the best! You mentioned the prices had come down, but it appears that might have just been for the British cruise. I was prompted to look after your video...holy moly!! Have you seen the prices for Caribbean cruises early next year on the Scarlet Lady!!! Even as a 'premium' line...these prices do seem excessive, your thoughts?
Ha ha, cheese and onion are pretty good... but not quite salt and vinegar! Oo... I thought they had reduced all the prices, how much is it per person for a Caribbean cruise? >.
Thanks for replying Emma. I have looked at one of the cruises in the Caribbean with Virgin, for 5 nights, the cost per inside cabin, including taxes is $1, 932 dollars, (so just shy of $1000 dollars per person). A comparable cruise with Princess (for 6 nights), including taxes is $1388, ($694 per person). Of course, the virgin fare includes gratuities, wi-fi etc, so likely you could get to the same price on Princess, but personally, I never buy wi-fi on board, and rarely use fitness facilities or speciality dining. It could be I'm being too 'initial' price sensitive, but I really want to try Scarlet Lady...just wish the price was a little more competitive.
The idea of an "automatic gratuity," is probably just a myth. They have a wage structure, and nothing is automatic about it. But expressions of kindness delivered to the hands of an exceptional person can never be in error.
I just found your channel and honestly I want to express how grateful I am for the time and effort you put into each and every video. Seriously, you're doing God's work. I'm excited to start my cruising life soon!! Safe travels and thank you again!
It looks like a lot of the furniture would be very uncomfortable to sit on for long and get up and down from. A lot of low sitting items ? Or non cushioned ?
Excellent review. I watched your Disney cruise review first but really wanted to know about this cruise. The 18 and older part works for me. You should have gone for the tattoo though. ;-)
Great job as always. I initially was interested in Virgin cruising but after looking into it further, I decided I would pass. Your video reinforced that.
Thanks Emma loved your review. You answered most of my questions. The one thing I am still a little bit worried about is the daily planner, if they don’t offer a printed version and you have to rely on the cruise app (notorious for being unreliable) then I would be pretty upset if I missed something special. I like to plan my days activities, exercise classes in advance and don’t know if I will be able to on this cruise.Any suggestions?
To be honest I did struggle with that, had no idea what was happening when 😅❤️. Can’t really offer any advice, apart from to Virgin to make it better 😅😅
I am really glad that you had a good time and that the pricing really worked well for you. They were definitely way too expensive when they first launched before the pandemic. I'm glad that I don't do pools on cruises since the pool on the ship is about the size of a king sized bed. I do like that they have an impossible burger option since we don't eat red meat. That bathroom would be a claustrophobic problem for me, I am normal size, 5'8" and 160 and it looks way to small for me. I do like the different restaurants, they look really good. Storage does look feeble, we just came off the Celebrity Millennium and we had two full hanging closets and 12 drawers. Your video tour of the ship is really great, well narrated and now I can see all the features of the ship.
Yeah! Agreed. The impossible burger was so good, my boyfriend had the meat version too another day and said the impossible one was better. Thanks lots Lou, 12 drawers!!! NICE!!!!
You're enthusiasm & perspectives of all things cruising are what I enjoy about your videos. In all due respect, everything I'm seeing about The Scarlett Lady is 180 degrees opposite of what I want in a cruise experience. The ship looks extremely uncomfortable & impractical. That "hip, slick, & cool" vibe & target audience would have been me in the '90's when I was in my 20's & 30's. Now, at my age I find it annoying.
It's still 'hip' for me and I'm in my 60's. It's really a voyage for all ages (if you're above 18), but perhaps for not all people who cruise. There are many areas to sit and read and relax or eat & drink throughout the public areas of the ship; areas that aren't so public. No huge dining hall, no huge theater, no huge buffet. No one was ever pushing to get in front of me for anything, which I have encountered on every cruise I've taken, even a world cruise. I found the ship to be very relaxing, not too loud, and very bright and airy. And no one was asking me if I wanted my picture taken every time I left my room!
Hi Emma, I think that you mentioned alcoholic drinks are expensive on Virgin, and that packages are not available. You can actually pre-pay your bar tab, and they frequently offer Sailor Loot, which is a voyage credit, to offset the cost of the alcohol. Cheers! Wendy
Thanks for your honest video when I feel like cruising again I will not be trying Virgin , nothing you said makes me want to even give it a try. My husband would be heartbroken without a show after dinner. The only thing that appeals to me are the hammocks on your own balconies.
@@EmmaCruises - I’m glad you had fun. I think Virgin wants to attract younger cruisers. Those hammocks are everything! My younger self would be like you. Older me would probably be unable to get back out and one day someone would just stumble across this cool hammock…filled with sun bleached bones! 😂😂
@@CowboyBike06 Just wonder how many injuries there will be with drunk people falling off the hammocks on to metal decks. Falling off a hammock onto grass is painful enough.
Thanks for posting. We've always cruised on NCL (Platinum Plus) but we're always looking to expand our horizons. Trying a Transatlantic next spring on Sea Dream II. And yes, Salt and Vinegar Crisps! Both my wife and I had English mums, and we both lived in London when we were wee bairns. I still remember the crisps that came with the little blue packet of salt to add to the crisps. Somehow I'd always get one crisp with all the salt on it, while the rest remain plain.
Thank you for this.. I now know that I will never set foot on one of these ships. Wristbands? Tattoos? Sloppy uniforms? Not my style. I’ll stick to Silversea and Seabourn. But thanks for letting me know. Great video.
I'm glad you had a good time Emma, but you have confirmed that Virgin Voyages is not a thing for me. Tattoos and vegan food......Urghhh. I seem to be stuck in the middle. Virgin is too modern for me and P&O / Cunard are too stuffy. I am truly middle aged! 😊
I”m very shocked about the way the ship was designed although it looks beautiful, for Richard Branson to have the engineers and architects draw of this with limited activities limited entertainment and practically nothing to do on your cruise😫😫😫😫😫😫 you talk about having just an adult ship but we love to have fun just as much as the younger generation ! If I had rate this ship on a scale of 1 to 10 it is to receive a 3 from me. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
I actually love everything about this ship now after seeing all of the vlogs on her of late! I also have no problem with the pool now since they have placed in all the seating and lounge areas, it is tastefully done and looks fantastic! Honestly as long as I can get in and cool off, which you can do, and with that wading area to get my tootsies wet every once in awhile in the hot Caribbean sun I will be happy. Thanks for this report, I can't wait to sail on her from Miami next year!
I enjoyed your review. You keep it pleasant and fast paced and pack a lot into 25 minutes. You looked pretty in your scarlet dress. I'm not sure about VV for now I'll stick to RCCL. Disney Cruises are fun too. I'll have to watch your review.
I really enjoy your videos Emma! My whole family has been watching you recently! We are going on the Sapphire Princess in June and I'm so excited! Enjoy ur tea!
This video totally changed my view of Virgin Voyages! I was so confused by what it was supposed to be and what their target audience exactly was, but now it seems like a great adult-only cruise experience. That incredible, all-included food alone makes it seem worth it to cruise with them now!
Cruised on the Scarlet last month, I'm a Virgin cruise fanatic now! Mind-blowing food and so much more!
Yeah I was a little confused as well... seems like just walking around this ship is just confusing enough
I’m so happy the crew is treated so well. Free wifi and comfy uniforms raise morale.
Absolutely, they seemed happy :D

(Maybe a little more sometimes.)
Between you, not only have you given me motivation to walk, you've given me an absolutely priceless gift: access to culture.
@@juliatarrel1674 You can do it!
Thanks for your story ❤️
@@atherrien95 I WILL do it. Nothing short of another pandemic will stop me!
I absolutely love your motivation! You've got this.
Emma is just a genuine, awesome, and kind person. It always makes my day whenever I see a new video from her. I know I’ll learn a ton of unbiased things and have a great time watching.
Jake!!! Thank you so much, that's lovely. Thank you. Appreciate you!!
@@EmmaCruises you are very welcome, it’s the truth! 😄
@@jakes.7201 I was looking at your profile pic and I thought I saw something on your nose.. what is that??🙄
Still not a cruiser, but if I was, I think I'd be sold on this. Also, Emma seems awesome, she likes tea, salt and vinegar crisps and she's pathalogically early. These are all traits I value in human beings.
Hahaha, you've summed me up so well there. I love this. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
You’d like Desire cruises and resorts. Or Bliss cruises, chartered vessels for adult swingers and clothing optional exterior.
Thanks Laura! That was my aim so appreciate that :)
Hey Melissa, Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I'm soooo excited to try the Disney cruise, we will see how I find it. Will do!! :-)
I would definitely say that the black long public bathroom is very well designed for... well, cruising lol
Thanks!
Hey hey! That's the best compliment, thanks so much. That's the aim. Thank you! :)
I’m 56 and totally agree with you. I’ll stick to RCL and Celebrity.
Douglas! That's so kind. I really appreciate that. Thank you. 😇👍
Ha ha ;) )
Thanks for watching, that hammock was sooooo much fun 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises thanks for clarifying. When I heard salt and vinegar crisps, I was just so surprised that someone else really likes them that I merged your cruise experience with them. I'll pay better attention next time 😜
You are so polite and confident when speaking, I wish you were the voice inside my head. Your video is so immersive that I felt I was there the entire time. Excellent review. Keep up the great work.
What a lovely comment, thank you so much. Have a nice day! :)
Yeah! Oh no, definitely not. ha ha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼

I think you're right on that one, they did have people from about 18 to 80 though. A good range! :D
Wow…
Totally changed my mind on this ship..
Love running so the upper deck is fab…and the gym looks great too…
The prom deck looks fabulous with all the seating..
Love all the food included..and the soft drinks free…
The food looks delicious…
Love the scarlet theme….
Shame about the storage, the bathroom looks a bit “ wee”…lol
Great having so many USB’s and the gadget to control everything!
Couldn’t wait to get home today and watch it…( Bronnie) xx
Hey hey!! Thanks so much for watching :)
This looks like so much fun! I'm glad to hear they treat their crew well.
Yeah! They do, I think. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Happy crew, happy cruise 🚢. Seems obvious but some cruise lines don’t seem to believe that anymore, Thanks for the review, Emma! BTW my wife says your nails are to die for?
Haha! Thanks Michael's Wife, they're just stick on nails I stuck on myself ;)
Really enjoyed watching the review! The "A" and "Z" concept is my baby. So happy you liked it!
Haha!! I did! Thanks Seth. Thanks so much, appreciate you watching it :)
Yay!!! You made it, not just your Scarlet Lady clips... ha ha. I enjoyed it too! So lovely to see you again. :D
I have never been on a Cruise in my life and most likely I won't but I love your Videos. Just so charming and informative.
Hey Vita, thanks so much, really appreciate that! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I think Virgin MUST have watched 'Carry on Cruising'. I know we're not their target market, but us old 60s chicks can't wait!
Haha, I'd hate that if they got rid of the pools! Some ships have 5 or 6... Yay! P24 TEAM! :D
Oh man, I want to see the entire muster video now! That looks so entertaining!
Helllooo! That sounds good to me. Yay, fellow inside cabin fan. That's good!!
I love the saying “Clever bit of Kit”. So British! Great review…so detailed and presented so well…thank you! ❤️
Thanks Stacey, appreciate that. :) Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I have to say, you are one of my favourite travel TH-camrs, I could listen to your voice for hours. Love the videos Emma, can't wait for what comes next. Regent Suite maybe? lolololol.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. Sure, if somebody wants to PayPal me the money (ha ha) ;)
Ooo yes, Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thank you for your review! The others I've watched were not in the target demographic that Virgin wanted. Your perspective is far more similar to mine than the other reviews, even if I'm a bit older. I'm not even going to argue about your favorite crisps flavor because you are 100% correct!
YES!! Glad to hear it!! ;) Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Yess!! Good choice.
Ha ha. Sounds good :-)
Sounds awesome to me, but I'm an adult with an easygoing sense of humor.
Great review, Emma! I like the all inclusive concept but the Generation Z interior looks like a ferry outfitted by Ikea.
Yeah!! DILL PICKLE CRISPS WHAT. I've never had those! :') Yeah! I think it's good. Have the best time ever!!
WE will be on the Scarlet Lady on Dec 5th. Thank you for this review and looks like it changed you mind about a few things. I cant wait to sail on her and hopefully meet Lucy if she is still on contract (love her channel)
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
We are so glad they listened to many of the criticisms. After your preview tour we decided Virgin Voyages wasn’t for us. Now we are thinking we might want to give the Scarlet Lady a chance. Thanks for sharing your update with us, Emma!
For the right price, I think it's a good idea. :D Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I just took my first ever cruise and it was on the Scarlett Lady and I loved it.
For a tech focused cruise line, it’s disappointing to hear you having issues with their app. From a scale from 0 to 10 how would rate their cookies? It was awesome that you were able to meet Lucy, love her channel.
Well that was the first time being used by thousands of people at a time, I can understand it. I'm sure it will be an easy fix
Get a 🐦
The app was sooo annoying, it has 1.9*'s in the app store.
Emma is absolutely fantastic. Great information presented in a fun way. She gives a layman’s view that really works for me, a layman
Thanks Layman Peter! Ha ha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
You do fantastic reviews! I'm actually thinking about cruising again...
Yeah, totally :-) Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thank you so much Emma. You touched on literally everything I wanted to know. I really appreciate you giving us all the details. I definitely want to try Virgin Voyages. I love variety and just small differences will be enough for me. It’s a touch out of my budget right now but I am keeping my eye on it!
Hey Ava, thanks so much for watching. Soooo much info to try and include in this video! :')
15:37 that “Time to play” kit was so sus💀💀💀
Thanks so much for this review. I'll be going on Scarlet Lady in January and can't wait to experience it myself.
Yessss!! You'll have the best time. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I appreciate the video. It does confirm for me that I'm not in Virgin's target demo and it's not really for me. No worries though, viva la difference.
That's totally fair, absolutely! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Excellent, concise descriptions with detailed photos of rooms, features, food and fitness facilities.
Thank you! Appreciate that ❤️
The idea of an "automatic gratuity," is probably just a myth.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
It looks like a lot of the furniture would be very uncomfortable to sit on for long and get up and down from. A lot of low sitting items ? Or non cushioned ?
Yea lots of quirky bits of furniture, never found anything uncomfy though :D
Excellent review. I watched your Disney cruise review first but really wanted to know about this cruise. The 18 and older part works for me. You should have gone for the tattoo though. ;-)
Great job as always. I initially was interested in Virgin cruising but after looking into it further, I decided I would pass. Your video reinforced that.
Fascinating review Emma, think I’m sticking to RCI,NCL and carnival for now. Always great to see your opinions.
Holy Cow! At 16:46 (approx.) you had a brief glimpse of the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth! Sweet!
Haha! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
NICE!!!!
Great thorough review! It definitely has me wanting to give a Virgin Voyage a try!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Ha ha, totally understand that. Definitely isn't for everybody. Thanks so much, really appreciate it. :)
@@EmmaCruises I'm seeing a ship which is much how you described it last year, but with outstanding dining & staff?
One of best reviews i've watched. I have a small child so I'm waiting for their family cruise!
"Fluffy friendly"... Daaaam... 😂😂😂
Ha ha!! ;)
Exactly! Right down to the hammocks.
Totally fair!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Fantastic. We've never cruised before but took advantage of the First Mates offer so can't wait for November. I'm excited for the food menu.
Yess! That's awesome. Have the best time :)
I would definitely prefer a cruise line that treats their employees well.
I'd love to try Seabourn, mmm! :D
23:15 Lovely photo, lovely dress, lovely woman.
23:19 Another nice dress. Love the theme on it's print.
Great review Emma.
My thiughts exactly and I've crusied on many lines.
Same here. It seems like it’s geared towards hipsters lol. My son and his girlfriend would probably like it though.
@@penelopepitstop762 I can smell the beard oil from here.
@@nickreeve9644 ha ha good one! 😂😉
Haha!! That's totally fair. In the middle you've got loaaads of cruise lines, maybe something like Princess or Celebrity? :D
What a great extensive review. Really easy video to watch and so much info. Hoping you love DCL!
Thank you lots! I'm sure I will :-)
Great review Emma. Very detailed. And I now know that a Virgin Voyage cruise is not for me. Too “clever” for my taste.
I watched Gary Bembridge's video and don't recall him mentioning the Time To Play kit! 🤣
Gary is a classy gentleman!! 😊😂
Ha ha, Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
It looks simply dreadful to me :-( will stick with RCL and NCL)
I actually love everything about this ship now after seeing all of the vlogs on her of late! I also have no problem with the pool now since they have placed in all the seating and lounge areas, it is tastefully done and looks fantastic! Honestly as long as I can get in and cool off, which you can do, and with that wading area to get my tootsies wet every once in awhile in the hot Caribbean sun I will be happy. Thanks for this report, I can't wait to sail on her from Miami next year!
Ha ha!! Sounds good to me, thanks David! :D
OUTSTANDING REVIEW! Very thorough and enjoyable. Great work!
Coming from Cruise industry, about 12 years working , i belive i have seen You on a ship i worked, gotta say i LOVE your videos☺️
You’ve made me think about giving this line a try Emma, thank you
Great review, got invited on a 9day Mediterranean cruise. Was unsure about this ship, but it looks like a good time. Thanks again!
I enjoyed your review. You keep it pleasant and fast paced and pack a lot into 25 minutes. You looked pretty in your scarlet dress. I'm not sure about VV for now I'll stick to RCCL. Disney Cruises are fun too. I'll have to watch your review.
So glad you decided to try virgin again and that you enjoyed it second time around ❤❤❤ makes me feel better about our honeymoon cruise ❤❤
I really enjoy your videos Emma! My whole family has been watching you recently! We are going on the Sapphire Princess in June and I'm so excited! Enjoy ur tea!
Glad to hear they are good to the crew, just like you said happy crew makes for a happy cruise!
