I love that the misconception is still there about the easier difficulties making the enemies spongier. That's just a misconception. If you look into the game code, the damage is normal all around.
I vaguely remember something about bullet projectiles randomly disappearing due to some RNG regarding sub-master difficulties. Which is literally the stupidest way to handle easier difficulties. Why not just make the player receive less damage from everything and call it a day?

Not true, that myth has been debunked years ago, but for some reason people still cling to it. Difficult only changes player resistances (goes lower the higher the difficulty) and enemy damage (goes higher with difficulty). I'm a former modder and have seen the values with my own eyes, but if you don't believe me, just look it up for yourself.

Difficulty only affects enemy damage and player resistances, which are actually reduced on higher difficulties.
