For those of you wondering what happened to Joel at 2:57:16 that was a glitch called Tag Barrel Storage. By entering a tag barrel at a certain time with a certain animation playing, you can gain control of your Kong while in the tag barrel. Joel most likely achieved this glitch by getting damaged by the falling rocks into the tag barrel, then moving around while the Tag Barrel Storage glitch was active.
No joke, my most Vivid memory of this game is playing it while 9/11 happened. I was really pissed when my mom turned the console off to see what was happening, but I was like 5 years old lmao
it would be hilarious if somebody modded dk64 and changed all the voices with joel's voices and that would be lanky's voice clip when he loses a minigame
For the record, I think the Baten Kaitos 100% speed run takes so long because some items age in 'real time' so you have to wait like a week for milk to turn into yogurt.
Even though it was only a couple of years ago when he finished this, Joel said this is one of the 3 games he wants to restream (I believe the other two were Majora's Mask and Earthbound). That makes me really happy and I honestly hope he does sooner than never. I loved these streams and this is my favorite childhood game. I say that it's definitely not perfectly, absolutely, but I feel this game been getting overcriticized recently so I'm glad some still appreciate it and feel a special connection.
It just dawned on me. Why the hell is K Rool using B. Locker as a toll tax instead of just locking DK out of the levels. Its like he's asking DK to go on an adventure to stop him.
talking abt stupid video game things believed as a child, when i played pmd:eos i thought that if you got caught by the wind when you took too long in a dungeon, it would blow you all the way back to the beginning of the game. back to the beach and everything.
