The exposure that Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga City and the other cities Mark is venturing into these last few days / weeks is AMAZING for the locals. Thanks, Mark! I don't live in the Philippines, but I'm happy to see my people are getting the exposure and attention they deserve.
A US blogger was just abducted and killed in Zamboanga this month. A town councilor was shot and killed yesterday. Between going here and Marawi, Mark is traveling to dangerous places.
@stevem437 what happen to that idiot american is an isolated case..He was insulting the locals days before he was abducted.. he was living there and had a misunderstanding with his neighbors...this region was peaceful for over a decade.

I"M SO PROUD OF MY FELLOW ZAMBOANGENOS TO REPRESENT US SO WELL ^^ the food is so good, yet so underrated. Im glad we're getting coverage from a big channel like yours :]]]
It's so cool for Mark to visit my mother's hometown. I was there way back in 2023 and I had a blast in terms of the different food choices that I don't usually have when I'm in Metro Manila. From sati, tiyula itum, kuracha, to knickerbockers, my foodie heart is very happy. Hoping to go back there again in the future. : )
one thing is always recognize all the filipino videos so far, people are so much more friendlier and happier than in germany... its amazing to see that!
I was sure Mark will enjoy the southern Philippines. I remember the first time he visited, I was hoping he will discover more of the Philippines because we are not just adobo, lechon or fried street food. Glad he did.
Oh my gosh! I'm happy that Mark Weins went to Mindanao, Mostly grow up in Manila but its nice knowing more outside of luzon cause most videos i watch about Philippines, especially about food, Mindanao rarely get mentions so love learning foods from down under of the Philippines. might try making some of this recipes as much as close as i can..

Hey you’re in my hometown! Amazing you made your way there. I don’t know who gave you the idea, but thanks a ton for featuring our city on your channel.
Glad to know you found time to visit our exotic ciudad de Zamboanga. Its about time ( in fact its long overdue) our local cuisine is given the much needed promotion and exposure , allowing us to showcase our exquisite food for the world to see and hopefully relish. Welcome to Zamboanga!
Hey bro! New subscriber here and my wife is from Jakarta. We've been married for 16 years and I wanted to thank you for your content. As an American, even after 30 years in the restaurant business, I struggled to innovate the food I made for her. She misses her homeland and I do my best so your videos have really helped me be a better husband in the kitchen! You're a good man and I appreciate the work you do.
First time I've ever seen Zamboanga Pinoy food showcased in a food blog, and the only dialect I'm fascinated with in chavacano. I see the malay/Indonesian influence here, ang sarap! Good stuff Mark, your guide really made a difference in this series!
My mother loved Zamboanga. She lived there for a few years and she told me how beautiful Zamboanga is. She loved going to the beach and get some sea food, she said its fresh and delicious.

Great to see one of the best food vloggers come into our Asia's Latin City!
Asia's Latin Cities are more on Luzon where people have more of a Latin's last name and the south is more on Muslim
