He has had many girlfriends/lovers over the years even during his time as an x-men. Why would Jean be any different? He could probably get any women in the x-men and Jean is actually one of the least intresting one of them(before the whole Phoenix thing at least)

Wait….. He doesn’t hijack the entire damn show, he and Scott don’t just fight over Jean, no love triangles, and he acts like an actual mentor figure as well as a grumpy man. …..that’s it. Greatest adaptation of Wolverine ever.
You say that when most of the scenes he is in, in Evolution is him stealing the show and being the best without the side characters being demoted, his episode with Kitty and Kurt was great, X23 was a damned good episode, him being a father figure for both Rogue and Kurt when they found out Mystique was their Mother, Giving Rogue a reason to control her powers, him saving the kids and mentoring them, Cap and Logan saving Eric in WW2, the backstory for the sentinel projects and etc. he might not be in every episode but he was definitely stealing the show every time he played a significant part.
At least, unlike the Witcher. The X-men movies does give of the feeling of intentionally shitting on the source material and its fans just because some writers think its dumb. The X-men movies tried to make a compelling story about the world and mutants in way to few ours. Stuff like this is just better in a series format where they can take several episodes and devote them to "minor" characters.
@@yamatonoryuujin4871 there is a big difference between taking over the entire show and just having episodes centered around him. Also fhat was a dig at the X-Men movies they literally did set him up to overtake everything and everyone. As did Wolverine and the X-Men.
One of the best things about this version of Logan was that he knew people's limits and breaking points. He'd push everyone, but only as far as he felt each individual could handle. He knew when to back off, let things lie or give others some space, particularly Rogue.
I love how he's NOT into Jean here, but rather is more like her and Scott's uncle, and has more of a behind the scenes relationship with Storm, and their son is in here too 😊

@@bookwormgamer3924 By "cool" I mean he's an Awesome Villain. Easily one of my favorites. Plus his abilities are just as cool as Logan's. Possibly better in some ways
This is my ideal Logan. No love triangle. He's comes off as some 40 year old man who is older then he seems. He's really a teacher. So from that pov, he and Storm technically supercede Cyclops as leading the X-men team but do it more like General vs Captains. The comics really like to approach Wolverine like he and Cyclops are the same age but two sides of the same coin. No Wolverine is old enough to be Scotts great grandfather(heck maybe he is) and should be way past that shoulder check nonsense. He's older then Mags/Xavier twice over. He butts heads with Cyclops only because Wolverine has really aged experience and a clash with Logans loner attitude. Basically Wolverine is like the cool old man and not some casanova for teenage girls younger then his daughter.
The funny thing is, Scott is like the ONE person he doesn't have a nickname for...but I think here it's because he actually sees him as more of a grown up than the other kids, not because he doesn't like him.
@@ShadowSonic2 Does Logan really never call Cyclops "Slim" in this show? I've seen the entire series twice and I could have sworn he did at least once.
Kitty:"Eww,no thanks. Those things totally clog up your arteries, you know." Logan:"I've been alive for a few centuries and haven't aged a day. I drink liter bottles of alcohol every day, jump off of planes and high rise buildings without equipment and eat bullets, grenades and missiles every other week. I think cholestrol is pretty low on my list of worries, half pint."
I completely forgot how much of a crotchety old dad this version of Wolverine this show had. He just goes around giving the kids, meaning everyone except Charles, constant shit. And as much as I like traumatized and jaded Wolverine stumbling to find himself in a world thst just wants to use him. This kind of "you will listen to my advice because I have done it all before is refreshing
There's some revisiting to his past it's done appropriately and isn't the focus of the whole show. I wished they had done the same with Storm as in this show she's mainly a background character
It is a shame that this was not in 616. Enrico Pucci would make everything perfect for the others. Transport everyone into a new perfect universe and the old one will be abandoned.
Whay would be really funny is if Logan suddenly started treating Charles like a kid and when he finally asks what's up, Logan says "Well, technically Chuck, I'm the oldest guy here. You're a kid to me." 😏 Charles: 😕
Scott Mcneil nails almost every role I've known him in. Wolverine, Piccolo, Dinobot, Rattrap. I'm sure there's more but the dude is a legend in voice acting
I always loved how this Logan wasn't some stalker creep trying shack up with someone's else woman. He's not a gentleman, but he's more mature in a cartoon than a live action movie.
I love how his rivalry with Sabertooth was in this show. Sabertooth being more cunning and manipulative to get Logan to fight and Logan being so over his bs.
I always loved the sheer look of happiness on his face in that one episode when he saw that Rogue knew how to drive a motorcycle. And then it quickly went back to a scowl when she drove under a low tree branch and knocked him off.
Dude, Logan would dice up anyone who slightly even irritates him much less steal his stuff. If those joyriders were anyone not from the institute, I hope they got an excellent travel agent to leave the country.
Fury even calls Logan "Shorty" in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and you can compare the heights of Deadpool and Logan in the Deadpool game (Wade is clearly taller than Logan in that game)
Angie Coltrane look at 3:35 You can clearly tell there's a foot difference in height between the two (i know logan is kinda crouching but isn't he always?)
I'VE ALWAYS SAID THIS Like in that episode where he's not very in control of his powers and Kitty is able to remind him of who he is And he generally is pretty soft on Rogue in both this series and in X-Men 2000 I love this little detail ❤
I always loved this version of Wolverine due to him being on better terms with the rest of the X-Men, even Cyclopes. I always prefered the majorly orange Wolverine costume over his main yellow one that he is known for.
I hate hate the yellow and blue suit he has like i do batman's blue and gray suit. Wolverine should always wear orange and yellow. Barman should always wear black and gray
@@tayojones9460 I don't know how he is in other stuff and am going off how I've seen him in the first 3 live action films and this show. And I'm even going by memory. So from my perspective the yellow suit doesn't fit him at all. Then again, I'm also someone that hates batman in the blue cape so...
I love how we see this version of Logan really cares about these kids/X-Men, especially being a caring and protective male figure for the girls like Kitty, Rogue, and X-23 without being weird. He's still a crotchety old man, and he also has a strong protective role-model relationship with the boys as well. He's just such a great character in this show. This show was GOLDEN!
Amen brother! This is what we need done for Wolverine more often. Granted, I'm a sucker for Logan x Mariko, but that can be added without bringing in the absurd love triangle between him, Scott, and Jean. The triangle serves no real purpose other than to cause tension within the team, and the way it's brought into everything now makes it more than redundant. Sorry for the mini-essay, but I one hundred percent agree with you. Evolution Wolverine for the win!
I loved Logan in X-Men Evolution cause he wasn't the focus like he is in every X-Men series/show. He wasn't overexposed or ridiculously powerful. In the comics cause of his popularity they made him so overpowered he could equally fight The Juggernaut. But in X-Men Evo he got easily squashed by The Juggernaut which makes way more sense. They made him an older tough badass parental figure and he was more a father figure to Scott and not some jealous love rival
it's not just that, Logan can indeed get hits and equally fight the juggernaut, his claws are strong plus his factor gives him the ability to keep going. He can take more than love taps like spider-man but ian know bout winning depends on which Logan, can't tell the comic creator that they doing something wrong
The sincerity and compassion in kitty's voice when she asks if he really wants to hurt her always struck hard with me. All the training, the battles and hardship these students are still just kids. And Logan would rather suffer than hurt them willingly. One of many reasons I've always loved this show
While I do like Logan's more colorful suit from the beginning of the show, I like how his later costume is more cohesive with everyone else's. It's like a little visual cue that Logan has decided to integrate himself more into the team and admit that he's one of them.
it was a suit that Marvel tried to push on all their versions of wolverine, from animated to normal 616 canon to ultimate universe to adapt to the movie look. i like it but i wish he retained the mask
This portail truly captures what I love about Wolverine. A guy who is rough around the edges and has at some point been mistreated to the point he thought he is nothing but a weapon. He wants to do better than that, be better than that. Thats why he keeps adopting teenage girls and lets himself be dragged to a mall to carry the shopping bags, however much he grumbles about it. You don't bring weapons to a mall, you bring a father.
@@orlandobritt1460 actually, Evolution aired in 2000, where Van Helsing was released around 2005. But since Logan dressed like that around the fifth season (2005 or 2006) it could be referencing Jackman's role in the movie
Logan: Hmm... I wanna go unnoticed in the city for a while... *BETTER DRESS LIKE A FAMOUS PERSON!* LOL I didn't know he had that kind of a sense of humor!🤣
That moment when Logan managed to get through to Laura is one of my favorite X-Men moments. Children are meant to have a childhood. Laura wasn't even allowed one. She was a mere tool to be taken out of a toolbox. She had every right to a future of her own design.
8:47 "Yeah, but I can walk away from a [plane] crash" 10:17 "I'll handle the army" 24:18 "Give me a break kid, I started the morning by falling out of an air plane" LOL! This really proves how tough wolverine is.
@@Gamesfan34260 Eh, not really. I mean, even in his first appearance, I don't think that he was even able to scratch Hulk's skin, and it takes a lot of plot induced stupidity or jobbing so that a casual graze from Hulk doesn't end up with Logan three states over. And a Thunderclap would probably drop him for a moment from the sheer volume to someone with superhuman hearing, even if he manages to hide behind something that could block the shockwave (namely, Hulk himself in most locations). Plus, Hulk could just jump a few miles away whenever he wants, if Logan somehow managed to do more than annoy him.
I adore this Logan, he's a great character in general and I especially love how he kinda has this energy of "Being the person he needed someone to be" with people younger than him, especially X-23 but also just in general.
Don't get me wrong, Logan was still a complete badass in this version, but I just really appreciate how he balanced that out with being the protective father figure, especially with the girls. They were all his kids but as soon as someone messed with Jean, Kitty or Rogue, it was a wrap. 👊👊👊
because contrary to Wolverine and the X-Men there wasn't an obsessive use of Logan above everybody else. here he went back to being the cool, badass no BS hero. so please bring Evolution back.

Idc, this is the best on-screen version of the X-Men by far and away. It captures their dynamics in such a compelling way, beyond the X-Men as just a superhero team but also as a school and as a family, and this version of Wolverine is definitely a big part of that.
I wouldn’t go that far, but it was certainly a good show. I personally prefer the original 90’s animated show, but that’s just personal preference. Also Apocalypse.

@@Vigriff Same episode and arc. The reason why Wolverine was there was cause Beast got kidnapped by one of Spiderman's villians and Wolverine thought that Spiderman kidnapped him.
I love this version of Logan. He acts as a father / mentor figure to the students and even though he was dealt a pretty s***** hand in life, he tries to make the most of it. It's a much more accurate portrayal than most TV shows or movies.
I feel like X-Men: Evolution started off pretty weak, with some of the first few episodes even having like that whole TV Sitcom family "Let's stand around in a group and talk about our daily lesson in morals we learned today". But I feel like it pretty quickly found its footing and was willing to do some really interesting takes on the different X-Men. I really liked the interpretation for the relationship between Rogue, Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Wolverine. You have the really awkward sibling relationship between Rogue and Nightcrawler, their conflicting feelings towards their mother, and then Wolverine stepping in to act as a surrogate father/uncle. His relationship with Kitty is also pretty interesting. I feel like they did a really good job in having the age difference be as obvious as it is here, with a few adults (Logan, Storm, Beast) and then the rest being high schoolers. Helps avoid the pointless and awkward love triangles that have been there in other versions. Helps to justify Logan's stubborn and rude behavior, Scott's asinine immaturity as the leader, Rogue's inability to trust, etc.
While I understand your complaints about it being a family drama, it made the characters more likeable amd interesting than the previous series. It also added to the action when you are more invested in the characters.
This must be the work of the enemy stand. The Infinity Gauntlet did snap everyone else and they have transported into a new 616 universe(Obviously not true).
And actually has a proper school but also doesn’t have too many students And all the students get their time to shine and feel real X-Men Tas has just a bunch of grown ups and Jubilee living in a school and the roster never changed I hope in X-Men 97 the team actually grows/changes

28:10 Anybody notice Laura's hair fluttering in the direction of the shield chopper? Now THAT's attention to detail.

Really liked this interpretation of Logan, like other they all very similar with the whole angry in-your-face clint Eastwood attitude. I like how like others this one brings more of Logans Mentoring side and how things are a bit flipped compared to 90's X-mean TAS where; here Logan is more of a senior member or instructor and Gene and Scott are newbies/students.
bassgasmask agreed. He felt like more of an uncle type figure for Scott and Jean who helped raise them as children rather than who he is in the comics where he tends to lust after Jean and get competitive with Scott. This version of Logan will always be my favorite
@@DC-MarvelGirl1997 Yeah... I'm *SSSSSOOOOOOOO THANKFUL* FOR THAT! And also glad that the only time he seemed in competition with Scott was in The Stuff of Heroes (Or whatever that episode is called) where he and Scott had a bit of a different perspective on how to deal with ignorant trouble making military that asked them to either surrender or be obliterated. Logan wanted to charge and take down, vs Scott who had the attack only to defend and protect point of view. It was really cool how Logan came back later in the episode and congratulated Scott for doing a good job.
This version of logan is easily the best one, especially since that stupid jean/scott love triangle was erased, regarding the argument that this was a kid show that's why they changed heck the original x-men series back in the 90s was also a show meant for kids yet that stupid love triangle was there, will never understand why these marvel writers insist on that, it only damages all three characters
You know, when you put it that way.... it really does hurt the characters more than anything. I mean, the 90's series did it well, and actually *explained* why Logan was chasing Jean (the first red-head he'd fallen for had a jerk husband, and seeing Scott be aloof reminded him of the guy. Plus, Jean was present when the Prof. was straightening out his torture-addled-brain). My only issue with your argument would be that the 90's was actually aimed at adolescents/adults, hence the triangle. Momma Bear and Papa wolf. One is a person of mass destruction and the other can hunt down and take anyone.
As in storm?
With the way this shows animation style is, it could've easily fit in with the Spectacular Spider-Man universe. Imagine how cool it would be seeing this Logan and Spectacular Spidey team up?
Ahhhhh yes! Man I really wish they didnt cancel Spectacular Spiderman. :')
@@VeritasA4G to be fair, there was a crossover episode between spiderman and x-men evolution as I recall.
Spidey visited them. That said, the only x-men I can recall from that episode was Logan, and the professor. Including Logan almost slicing Spidey up for entering the grounds. It wasn't an episode of the Spectacular series though. It was another one, not sure which right now...
@@Wortigon2000 Ohhhh your talking the 90s X-Men the Animated Series and Spiderman the Animated Series. And that was actually an episode of 90s spiderman the animated series where wolverine was featured. It was during the neurogenic nightmare arc and Spidey was going to the X-Men for help with his mutation disease.
X-Men: Evolution, sadly, never had any crossover episodes. T-T
@@VeritasA4G Wasn't Beast also part of an episode in Spiderman TAS?
@@Vigriff Same episode and arc. The reason why Wolverine was there was cause Beast got kidnapped by one of Spiderman's villians and Wolverine thought that Spiderman kidnapped him.
I like how this incarnation of Logan is like a mentor/father figure to Scott and the others.
Logan being a dad is something we all need in our lives.
I agree
Full House but it's the X-Men
While I understand your complaints about it being a family drama, it made the characters more likeable amd interesting than the previous series. It also added to the action when you are more invested in the characters.
X-Men should be a family drama. There's nothing wrong with it being one.
Tbh I like the first Season.
This must be the work of the enemy stand.
The Infinity Gauntlet did snap everyone else and they have transported into a new 616 universe(Obviously not true).
This is one of the few x men shows that actually treats the younger mutants like kids.
And actually has a proper school but also doesn’t have too many students
And all the students get their time to shine and feel real
X-Men Tas has just a bunch of grown ups and Jubilee living in a school and the roster never changed
I hope in X-Men 97 the team actually grows/changes
W: Pickin' on kids, Creed? Big mistake.
S: Yeah? Why?
W: Cuz! They're MY KI- I mean, IT REALLY TICKS ME OFF!
Wolverine = Adoptive father of the year.
That's exactly what I think every time I see this scene! Wolverine acts like a protective, yet grumpy uncle/dad!!
HAHAHA YES
12:25 Scott: "Logan, have you ever really cared for someone?" Logan: "Pliers."
I love the dynamic Kitty and Wolverine had in this series, it really seems like she is his favorite student.
Personally I think Rogue was his favorite, she was more his speed and a little more sensible than Kitty most of the time plus she had a lot more deep trauma that he understands. But I agree that he and Kitty do have a great dynamic! Logan as a father figure is the best!
Also since rogue knew how to drive and didn’t almost kill him with said driving
@@valerieteets3484 but only to his adoptive kids, unfortunately. Also Rogue and Logan kisses in the comics, and he actually expressed that he is sexually attracted to her.
@@rabiyaashraf950 I remember that, it was icky.
"Ah, to be young again"
"Yeah glad that's over"
IF THAT AIN'T A MOOD LMFAO
No mention of the flashback where he worked with Captain America and SAVED Magneto as a child?!
Yeah, that was a spectacular episode, and definitely one of my favs!
Not trying to start a comment war, but I personally think the 90's WWII episode underperformed compared to Evolution's.
@@autobotjedi3457 Oh easily.
What episode was that?
@Cat007 Thanks!
Wolverine: “He’ll get a little cooling off time”
*transition
Also wolverine: *throws saber tooth out of a plane into the arctic
That kind of humor is why I love this show
Warner Humor is Far Superior Then Disney Humor
Even Star Wars Clone Wars From Warner Era was Better Then Disney Star Wars

I Hope Disney can Never Buy LOTR Franchise....
@@Kravenrogue that would be horrible we don’t need lotr as a musical

Lowkey that was one smooth turn
28:10 Anybody notice Laura's hair fluttering in the direction of the shield chopper? That means A) that's how Logan caught her scent, the wind carried it, and B) Laura, having the same enhanced senses, would have known this, so she must've deliberately positioned herself there to let him know she was ok. Now THAT's attention to detail.
Really, looking back and comparing this to how poorly done a lot of other cartoons have been...the detail and consistency of this show is GREAT
“ MY MOTORCYCLE” wolverine is always gonna be my favorite super hero
Mine too! (After Magneto of course.)
Marvel made him gay now so dont buy any new comics stick to the old school
@@dantedlane2 not that making character gay is wrong but why all of the sudden? Is it new universe or something
@@dantedlane2 Please tell me he's not gay with Cyclops.
@@ines1084 I believe they are referring to Daken, Logan's son in the comics who is bisexual. Either way, a rather silly reason to dislike something.
I will always say Scott Mcneil is my favorite voice for Wolverine, while Steve Blum is good Scott Mcneil makes him sound more deep and manly.
What’s funny is that Steve Blum can probably do that too.
I feel troy baker using his pain voice would make a great wolverine
I think it's more a case that this Wolverine was written better. According to the comments, anyways
@@shadedepeche2556 What’s funny is that salty Wolverine and The X-Men fans glamorise the show.
WAIT! STEVE BLUM VOICES WOLVERINE?! That guy voices some of my favorite Transformers! He always seems to voice the grumpy/dangerous (somewhat) guys. Heatwave (RB) and Starscream (TFP). Cool.
You know, Logan's attitude when Rogue was driving his bike feels kind of similar to how my dad was when he was teaching me how to drive.
You know, it kind of makes sense that Wolverine would have a more mellowed yet gruff personality after all the years he's lived. The addition of him being the tough dad of the team really accentuate this further.
As much as I love Hugh Jackman’s Logan, this version is also a favorite of mine as he is portrayed as the tough but cool dad to the younger X-Men
Scott Mcneil and Steve Blum are amazing Logans too😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤
Cant believe I forgot how good this version of Logan was. He's legit been acting like a dad to everyone in X and it's amazing
He was also a cool uncle/father figure
bassgasmask the Eastwood part of his personality has been a a big part of wolverine he has been part of the inspiration for wolverine for a long time
bassgasmask agreed. He felt like more of an uncle type figure for Scott and Jean who helped raise them as children rather than who he is in the comics where he tends to lust after Jean and get competitive with Scott. This version of Logan will always be my favorite
@@DC-MarvelGirl1997 yeah. I think we can say that love triangle has become tiresome
I love that Logan has all of these little outfits for all of his different type of training sessions.
Yeah it’s actually kinda cute
He just randomly is wearing ninja costumes and a karate gi

@Kevin Byrnes oh yes 😏
Xavier: it seems that by just touching your skin that person will pass out.
Rogue: reveals as much skin as possible.
Lol why 😂
Because she wants to drain the powers of all the x men in the most passive aggressive way possible.
because being goth AF is top priority, of course
Also it could be really hot out
It's not a bad look though
For the record, I agree with you, and have *DESPISED* that love triangle for years.
It adds drama, that's all it's there for.
Because kids need a bit of reality, not to be protected with a buble
