    Who discovered the dance?

Who discovered the Philippine folk dance "La Estudiantina"
The origins of the Philippine folk dance "La Estudiantina" are unclear, and there is no definitive answer as to who discovered or created it. "La Estudiantina" is believed to have been influenced by Spanish music and dance styles, as well as indigenous Filipino music and dance traditions.
Some sources suggest that the dance was first performed in the late 19th or early 20th century by Filipino students who had studied in Europe, where they were exposed to the Spanish music and dance culture. Others claim that the dance was popularized by the Philippine Constabulary Band, a military marching band that performed throughout the country in the early 20th century.
Regardless of its origins, "La Estudiantina" has become a beloved and iconic dance in the Philippines, known for its lively and energetic movements, colorful costumes, and joyful spirit.

Clearly it passed to other cultures where Spain colonized and the meaning changed of what it is but the essence is there.
