      @Khotton Tton you need to understand. We present ourselves "filipino" pagdating sa mga foreign. Pero pagdating sa pilipino we tribe name or language we spoke before filipino. Kunyari ako tagalog, kapampangan and a little ilokano and waray bago filipino. Tribe first then filipino.

      It's the Maranao version of India's Ramayana. That was the time before the Maranaos converted to Islam

    Di ako masyado fan ng folk dance gaya sa mga Tagalog folk dance sa school dati. Pero etong singkil, super enchanting, ang ganda ng tunog. Very rich culture and arts ng mga taga Mindanao indeed.

    So far so good...flawless. the kids are cute, the Datu and the Princess or Ba'i and their servants which are the fan girls really did well also. they synced so nicely and smooth... great one.

      You find it so good? The dancers kept on looking at the bamboos! Strictly, the dancers should look straight with their chin up! The dancers should dance through the bamboos without looking at them!

    We danced this back when I was gr6, it was a competition and we won. This is the video we used as a reference to guide us.
    I'm turning gr10 now

    Singkil is a pre-Islamic dance tradition of the Maranao people of Mindanao. Even after Islam came the Maranao people still continued the tradition. It's basically a Maranao retelling of the Indian epic Ramayana.

      I always thought the Golden Tara of Butuan was in a dance pose! She was found in Manobo territory (Wawa tributary of Agusan River).
