Okay, I actually think about turian biology a lot, for reasons totally not related to drawing smut. (they're related to drawing smut) ------------------------ Turian gestation would likely be much shorter. Their thin waist implies less room to carry young than even humans. They would have to give birth to very small young, then carry them in the cowl until they can walk on their own. The information that turian gestation takes 11 months is from a fanfiction, it is never stated in-game. Child rearing would, from my guess, fall to male turians. Turian women have very different morphology, one of the most important parts being the eyes. Femtur eyes have the slit and a small sclera compared to the male having a more human pupil with larger sclera. Looking at the way an eye slit takes in light compared to a circular pupil, it can be assumed that they see more sharp at night and have relatively blurry vision in day. That paired with the more slender body and lack of a frill makes them exceptional for nighttime stealth, faster running, better pursuit predation. This leads to the assumption that men would guard young against threats and rear them, while women hunted. If they have exoskeleton, fat content won't be easily visible from the outside. It would be stored in already relatively empty spots, as it is with earth insects. Mothers would not chew the food for their children, because they don't have molars. This would mean that either a) turians used a mortar and pestle to chew food once they had tool use, reducing stress on gizzard and crop, or b) turians would regurgitate. Mandibles are one of the most important parts of their sexual selection and communication. They are the primary means of emotional expression, which is extremely important because of their similarity to human psychology as it relates to their evolution. You didn't mention it, but turian genitals would probably be relatively standard, considering their evolutionary similarity to humans, designed to just... stimulate. Not the corkscrew or something crazy like that. Teeth I'd say are less raptorlike, more pescivorous. This is odd, considering the inability to swim that turians are known for. This could imply that they started externally grinding and crushing food much sooner than other advancements, early tool use like the usage of flint for human stuff and cut chewing. ------------------ One final thing, Garrus isn't the best bro. He's the best ho. 11/10 husband.
“If you walked up to a Turian and punched them in the face, they wouldn’t like it very much” I can think of lots of aliens and humans who wouldn’t like that very much XD Nice job with the video!

no dude, they shot as us. humans were messing with a mass relay and the Turians shut that shit down, Humans though the hostile aliens were... well hostile aliens. and acted accordingly
And this is the point where Mass Effect dropped the physics ball hard. A magnetosphere doesn't only protect from radiation, but also from solar wind, which would blow the atmosphere away in years. Even our atmosphere is depleting, but slowly enough that it does not affect us. Mars has the exact same problem. Yes, Palaven is actually further away from it's sun than Earth, however, it's only 1.15 AU, 15% further away than Earth, which does not significantly decrease the power of it's stars wind. It's possible that Menae and Nanus, the moons of Palaven lessen this effect to a degree, if both of these directly block the star constantly, and for some odd reason both orbit each other around PalavenL1, effectively providing a shield cone against charged particles. Of course that would result in the weirdest day-night cycle ever, because even in daylight, the sun would be blocked out for a couple of hours, then shine again, then blocked out again, then shine again, seemingly randomly. Okay, physics babble is over. You can wake up now. I cannot expand any further on your breakdown, excellent job. However, what could possibly cause the flanging effect you hear in their sound? Is it possible that due to the high radiation of the planet, they evolved a sort of double vocal cord system to act as an airlock to their lungs to protect it from unwanted charged particles? That would mean they breathe and speak from different airsacks in their chest tho, and the speech airsack is somewhat resistant to radiation, and the breathing one is not. Or it could mean that it is a filter in their throats that somehow filters the charged particles from the air, and protects the lungs through that? Oh, space velociraptors? Lemme crush your childhood then. Velociraptors were about 2 meters at best, (less than 7 feet) from nose to the tip of the tail, and 7 kilograms ('bout 15 pound) weight. About half of the length, or more, is the tail. So basically they were large aggressive chicken. With teeth. Citation dump: Velociraptor info: www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/dino-directory/velociraptor.html Palaven info: masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Palaven
I believe I will make a side video about the voice, I cant believe I forgot to add that into this video and very true about the raptors! but Lucy (our ancestor) was only about 3 feet tall if I remember correctly, maybe a little more, but Humans are much larger now! so perhaps their evolution led them in a similar fashion to become larger
@@RoanokeGaming You're absolutely correct, Lucy was a couple of centimeters shy of a meter tall (right about 3 feet). I just love to point out to people that velociraptors were nothing like the depictions. However, upon consulting a friend of mine, I have to point out that there were a raptor species which match closely enough to the movie velociraptors (apart from the feathers, but that actually was not known at that time), namely, the Utahraptor. Those were massive 5-7 meter(16-22 feet) from nose to tailtip, and about 1.8 meter (6 feet) tall, weighting about a ton or two (2200-4400 pounds).

And in the way you explain all those creatures and where they come from and the lore around them, its just so entertaining and like i said inspirational. I love well explained abilitys like super strenght but like i said : its interesting how the strenght is explained not that something is just strong. The details make it fun and reasonable. okey....but the main thing i want to tell you is that your videos are so fun to watch and that i hope you keep up this awesome work. Thank you for your videos. love watching them.
I love your videos, their pretty in depth at times and have a mind boggling amount of info. Also, I have a video idea if you don't mind hearing it out, the blacklight virus (prototype) vs the necromorphs (dead space) obviously. Also I love your voice.
Glad you are enjoying them bro! and I appreciate the compliment on the videos, I do plan on covering prototype a little later on, just need to play it first!
Our blood is red because of iron oxide, that's why rust is red . When copper rusts, it turns green (statue of liberty). Blue blood would come from using iodine instead of iron, like the octopi do..
The minimal magnetosphere would've resulted in the photolysis of water vapour with the resulting hydrogen and oxygen being blown away by the solar wind as well as nitrogen being blown away leaving a CO2 atmosphere which given the mass of the planet would've likely left a Venus like planet. Copper actually binds better with oxygen then iron but binds less oxygen than iron does. Consequently copper blood is good if it's difficult to extract oxygen from the atmosphere but it's bad if the organism requires a lot of oxygen as more blood need be circulated for the same amount.
It's fun to know Turians are largely grounded in reality and feasible occurrences. Gives me hope we will have our own Space Velociraptors some day ;D Cheers for the vid, Roanoke, and thanks for covering my favourite of the mass effect races :3 *cough* krogan next please *cough* Sorry, my uh instincts took over

Omg I love have well you discussed the science and biology in this video on a fictional species, you sir have just gained a new subscriber!! Keep it up defiantly gonna watch more of your vides.
Thank you for the sub bro! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video that much!
First time we meet aliens, we shot at them humanity at its finest 👌🏼
no dude, they shot as us. humans were messing with a mass relay and the Turians shut that shit down, Humans though the hostile aliens were... well hostile aliens. and acted accordingly
They shot at us first.
My bad bois need to read up again on my mass effect lore, but I’ll have garus as a wing man any day 😉
+StevoE26 they shot at us *without* any decent warning. I mean that'ld result in a cliche War of the Worlds scenerio
uh no they shot at us. we retaliated due to no shared language allowing for communication and shit escalated.
Please continue on this Roanoke
Nice job roanoke
Thanks man!
Amazing, I never knew so much detail was put into creating these characters! God I love this serious even more now!
its definitely a cool alien thats for sure!
@@RoanokeGaming btw subscribbled *MNK reference* amazing detail and work
And this is the point where Mass Effect dropped the physics ball hard.
With teeth.

So...they were space deinonychus.
Such an underrated channel..
Thanks my dude! I hope to one day be up there with the greats!
Roanoke Gaming with this content idk why you aren’t already lel. You cover a lot of stuff many others don’t.
I've been waiting. Grab your quads, its time for Mass Effect!
hope you enjoyed it bro!
Really cool video. Thanks

The Space raptors!
Great video to, glad to see you’re branching out of mutations and space zombies.
Looking forward to your take on asari.
Glad you are enjoying the direction the channel is going my guy!
I guess some dinosaurs knew how to fly....
The space dinosaurs that is
Vetra Nyx is the whole reason I'm into the turians. Rip proper sex scene
Love these videos. Mass effect, metro, all of em.
Aaand you just made my Garrusmance weird. Great video!
your videos are just awesome, so inspirational. Im always daydreaming about new ideas for creatures, spacial abilitys for humans like in animes or just about whole storys about those features.
A video on one of my favorite species from Mass Effect? This will be gooooood.
Oh wait it already is!
ayyyyy Thanks bro!
@@RoanokeGaming you're also Garrus is best bro for life!
I love your videos, their pretty in depth at times and have a mind boggling amount of info. Also, I have a video idea if you don't mind hearing it out, the blacklight virus (prototype) vs the necromorphs (dead space) obviously. Also I love your voice.
Glad you are enjoying them bro! and I appreciate the compliment on the videos, I do plan on covering prototype a little later on, just need to play it first!
whenever I see your videos. I'm like....sweet. something educational and video game related
Excellent! I hope you continue to enjoy them in the future as well bro!
Honestly Turians are my favourite species in the Mase Effect universe.
I love that character im so glad u did a video on his species i use him all the time he is always on me team
absolutely bro! glad you enoyed it!
So if the turian is the velociraptor is the Krogan the T. Rex
4:29
I always thought their spurs were something like a dew-claw. Maybe a vestigial leftover from a quadrupedal precursor species.
I like the subtle filters on their voice. It makes them sound like they have different voice boxes than humans.
Very interesting. Thank you.
Thanks for the space bird boy content.
Mass Effect?
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
hope you enjoy it bro! Ive also already got a video on the elcor out!
Our blood is red because of iron oxide, that's why rust is red . When copper rusts, it turns green (statue of liberty). Blue blood would come from using iodine instead of iron, like the octopi do..
I couldn't think of a funny comment but i love the videos RG!!!!
Glad you like them bro!
Holy shit i forgot you had done videos on Mass Effect, now that i finished the trilogy ((playing Andromeda now)), this is perfect!!
I like how to show off the structure of the Turians and Krogan, Shepard just kinda creepily hovers around his teammates. xD
This is highly informational
The minimal magnetosphere would've resulted in the photolysis of water vapour with the resulting hydrogen and oxygen being blown away by the solar wind as well as nitrogen being blown away leaving a CO2 atmosphere which given the mass of the planet would've likely left a Venus like planet.
Copper actually binds better with oxygen then iron but binds less oxygen than iron does. Consequently copper blood is good if it's difficult to extract oxygen from the atmosphere but it's bad if the organism requires a lot of oxygen as more blood need be circulated for the same amount.
10:22 Garrus best bro, Tali best girl, the 2 and Shepard make one awesome Reaper killing machine
It's fun to know Turians are largely grounded in reality and feasible occurrences. Gives me hope we will have our own Space Velociraptors some day ;D
Cheers for the vid, Roanoke, and thanks for covering my favourite of the mass effect races :3
*cough* krogan next please *cough* Sorry, my uh instincts took over
Glad you enjoyed it bro! it is pretty cool learning about how these creatures could actually survive, and all the detail put into them by the devs is amazing too
@@RoanokeGaming You finding all the details they put in and sharing them is my favourite thing about this channel, I'll be honest. I love seeing how much effort people put into these designs :)
cool. you could do hannar, vorcha, or krogan next. also at around 2:50 you say that turians skin isn't armored at all. actually in andromeda our turian squadmate says that they sometimes get massages that were done with hammers.
agreed! I am looking forward to discussing their healing abilities, and that's interesting, In the old lore it stated it was an exo skeleton but it wasn't armor plating, so maybe they could take a punch better than a human
Turians are my favourite aliens from Mass Effect, thanks to Garrus, and appearance.
Same! First time I played I was like "Oh yah, this guy is pretty cool, I wonder who else is better though?" after a few missions it didn't matter, I never took Garrus off my team lol
I'm almost expecting Garrus to ask if Shepard is okay while he moves around him observing him.
Wow this is early it's 11:04 am here and I don't think you're videos have ever been at this time 😃.
They should make an animation off The First Contact War.
Ive posted I think maybe 2 or 3 before, but I finished this up late last night so I figured Id posed it early in the morning! and that would be cool, I would play it
Yaaaas more mass effect species!!!
hope you enjoyed it bro!
Definitely my favorite Mass Effect species.
I am partial the quarians only because of Tali ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Wow 400k subs in 2 years that's pretty crazy man.
3:11 No... I always thought it looked like a cat!
No seriously their faces remind me of cats.
Some things i didn't know, i now do! Thank you!
Excellent! Hope you enjoyed it bro!
I only found your channel earlier today, and been bingewatching your biology analysis almoust non-stop. Love it man! After your done whit Mass Effect, Dead Space and Metro might i sugges you taking a look at various ghols and beasties in Witcher series?
