JDTechGear fact net neutrality stifles innovation fact under Title II of net neutrality internet companies are still allowed to throttle block websites and make cable like packages for the internet but they don't do that because of fear of losing subscribers. The system that was in place from 1996 to 2014 worked the internet flourished. This is not the end of the world the sky isn't falling do not believe the fear mongers that will mislead you and give you false information. Do some research yourself learn what net neutrality is and what it actually did to the internet. We are not handing the internet over to the cable companies like these fear-mongers would have you believe.

The tax reform as of now want to put a 12.5% tax on Puerto Rico which we are part of US lol. This is worse than the hurricane and everything else combine, companies (the that are left) will flee. I supported Trump and everything but with net neutrality and this its the final nail in the coffin, enough. The good thing is i suppose, PRicans leaving the island will most likely end up in Florida and therefore those voters will flip the state to democrats, republicans at this rate wont win again in a thousand years.

+lessthanlucas - What, exactly, do you think happened "between Comcast and Netflix"? Netflix went to the ISPs and offered to pay them to install special hardware to improve streaming speeds. *It was NETFLIX'S IDEA.* Netflix *wanted* special, high priority channels just for them. That's why their service runs so fast. Do you know how slow it would be without that, whether we have NN or not?? Yet you gullible pawns think that's some sort of blackmail. Get a clue.

The next Democratic president needs to have an "Undo Trump" package ready for Day 1. This package needs to unsign, decertify and repeal all changes made by Trump. Make no mistake: the next Democratic administration can put Net Neutrality back in place, and they absolutely should. What happened in Virginia, New Jersey and Alabama needs to happen across the country. Democrats should realize that the things Trump is undoing can be put back in place by the next Democratic administration.

Do keep in mind that the ISP's are going to start trying to put laws that will prevent others from putting back Net Neutrality. However, good news is, Its going to take time for them to do that. So the 2020 Elections are going to be really important specially for net neutrality laws.

+I am King - I wonder, a few months to a year from now after the fearmongering was proven to be lies, will you have the intellectual honesty to admit you were lied to and reject those propaganda-pushers? Or will you make up excuses, lie to yourself so you don't have to find a new clique?
+Warrior156 - Wow, you drank the kool-aid down hard, didn't you. "We have yet to know what they will be charging for access to certain websites"?? "WHAT" they will be charging? Not even IF they'll be charging anything extra? Hint: The answer to the latter question is: They won't.
Separating things out into more packages is a good thing if saving money is your concern, anyway. Even your own ilk's deceptive propaganda figures came out with pricing that was *better* than what we had before:

Not at all. Legislative branch has 60 session days to overturn the FCC decision. Many states are also challenging in judicially. The fight to make our voices heard to the FCC is over and was dismissed by three corrupt officials. Thankfully, we have more avenues and this repeal was vastly unpopular across all parties.

mrpmac the ISP's are lying, thats the other side of the argument, net neutrality simply means all data is equal and you can only be charged based on the amount and speed you get.
Without it ISP's can do what they do with cable and give you different service packages to limit your use and this is what actually limits innovation. Net neutrality has been the norm since the begining of the internet. Think about if it was repealed during the time of myspace, it would be the biggest player and would be able to pay for better speeds when everything else gets slowed down in lanes that are already available.

So now that it's too late, net neutrality finally is mentioned by all the big names in their TV shows. All of this has been years in the making and it would have been great to have some commitment from these people sooner. Like John Oliver who did at least three segments on it over the past three years.

If everyone bands together and decides not to use the internet after they end it, they'd have no choice but to reverse it. Right?

It's odd that he's talking about it now, after the FCC repealed it. But he did mention that it's not over since Congress has to still vote on wether this happens or not so I'm glad he didn't leave that out at least.

This is something that you need.
Jimmy is trying to warn the audience and they laugh. These are the people that’ll cause us to really lose net neutrality.
