The less we waste, the longer it will last to allow those things Mike Rowe mentioned to be made. He and others are saying that we need to look at alternatives that reduce our dependence on those fossil fuels. To look for alternatives that don't damage our planet as much. And yes, fossil fuels damage the planet. The petty attack that Kerry was tone deaf to the dichotomy of winter weather and solar panels is, well, just petty. And anyone with a sense of common sense knows he is not saying those who work in the fossil fuel industry have bad jobs, just that they can be working in a cleaner one for the planet job, a cleaner one for the worker, and ultimately a more sustainable and higher paying job. Transition is never easy, but it is part of evolution. Things evolve and adjustments need to be made. Taking advantage of that evolution in a managed and respectful way is the challenge . Kerry man has served his country both in battle and in governance, and in my opinion tried to do good things in the process. The same can not be said for many others. Just my opinion. You have to make up your mind. Either capitalisms is good or its not. John Kerry has moved through life taking advantage of what capitalism offers everyone. He also looks to take responsible steps to help with decisions that can help others when change is coming and inevitable. No system is perfect and no source of energy is perfect or useful in every activity we engage in. But all have their place. NEVER has he said we can get rid of fossil fuels completely. The less we waste, the longer it will last to allow those things Mike Rowe mentioned to be made. He and others are saying that we need to look at alternatives that reduce our dependence on those fossil fuels. To look for alternatives that don't damage our planet as much. And yes, fossil fuels damage the planet.
The petty attack that Kerry was tone deaf to the dichotomy of winter weather and solar panels is, well, just petty. And anyone with a sense of common sense knows he is not saying those who work in the fossil fuel industry have bad jobs, just that they can be working in a cleaner one for the planet job, a cleaner one for the worker, and ultimately a more sustainable and higher paying job. Transition is never easy, but it is part of evolution. Things evolve and adjustments need to be made. Taking advantage of that evolution in a managed and respectful way is the challenge

Kerry man has served his country both in battle and in governance, and in my opinion tried to do good things in the process. The same can not be said for many others. Just my opinion.

And dirty jobs will always be there, unless another business figures out how to do it differently or by a different means. Then the less efficient or more costly business tends to become obsolete, at least they do if they aren't propped up by government subsidies(petroleum industry) or bailed out by the government with taxpayer money, like the failed banks and mortgage lenders were). Favoritism by government is not a good idea if you want a free market capitalistic economy.
