Right! If he'd been on every single episode it would have been too much. He was great because he was a bit over the top, and they used him sparingly. He was always fun when he was on screen.

And the amazing thing is he was in 44 out of 180 Seinfeld episodes, but it feels like he was in so many more. Sort of like Uncle Arthur on Bewitched; Paul Lynde was so great in that role, but really only appeared a handful of times as that character.

Nothing people say can accuretly express how good Wayne Knight was as Newman......He is the 5th member of Seinfeld

    Great interview.
Wayne Knight seems like a great guy to interview since he has had a great career in showbiz in more things than just being Newman and the computer guy in Jurassic Park.
I bet he had a great time in this podcast interview.

I loved Third Rock from the Sun, and Wayne Knight was fantastic in that. And I heard so many great things about how fun the cast of that show was. I wish they talked about his time on 3rd Rock a little more.

    Love this podcast!
Wayne Knight has aged the best...he looks amazing! His weight loss journey has inspired me. And I always thought Newman couldve been the 5th main chatacter.

To many, he's Newman. To ME (born in the 80s, too young to appreciate Seinfeld in the 90s)...he will FOREVER be Nedry. Thank you Wayne for being a part of my favorite film of all time and helping bring the book I love so much to life. Jurassic Park is part of the reason I became a paleontologist. I've always wanted to go to some event he was doing and get my Nedry figure signed by him. I'd cherish that. Sadly, I live in Asia. So. BIT of an obstacle lol

Wayne Knight has such great stories and tells them well. What I loved about him on Seinfeld was that although he didn't have a lot of airtime he made the absolute most of his time and was always hilarious. Such excellent casting on that show.

Just stumbled across the channel. Oh man.. you guys are a staple of my childhood / young adult life. Parents would watch as a kid, then later I rediscovered the show and watched every episode.
The time you and jerry met Elaine’s dad at the hotel, for dinner, but she was late was absolutely hilarious. “How could you leave me out there with that lunatic?”
Jerry: “How’re we going to get out of this?”
“TELL HER WE WERE FRIGHTENED AND WE HAD TO GO HOME!” … “idk just start scratching, tell him you got the crabs” 😂

Fail. This is the second interview in a row where I feel like we’ve been gypped. I start a job here at work and 40 minutes later I’m still working but the episode ends abruptly leaving me feeling like there was more to be said, stories left out. Like what a friggin cliff hanger. To be continued, maybe. Honestly, I had never heard of the show until a couple days ago. Now I’m enthralled. Thank you!!! 👏🙌🔥❤️

Wayne Knight is one of those guys who never got to be a leading man, but his character roles were genuine standouts. It seems like he always understands the show or movie he's in, and finds a way to get exactly on that wavelength, so even when he comes in for an episode now and then, it feels like he's always been there.
