Right! If he'd been on every single episode it would have been too much. He was great because he was a bit over the top, and they used him sparingly. He was always fun when he was on screen.

Idk, for me it was when Kramer was sun tanning with butter and Newman sees him as a turkey dinner. Or how about when he plays a parody of Mr Wolf when he eats the muffin stumps 😂
Wayne is a total class act. I met him and his son (I think) in a Whole Foods in Dallas about 10 years ago, got his autograph, he was genuinely happy to give it and even did a Newman-style giggle while we talked. One of my life’s favorite moments ❤
Newman always the highlight of a Seinfeld ep. Even if if I've got re-runs going in the background, I always come-a-runnin' to watch when Newman appears.
Practically everyone that went to school with Wayne Knight new he was destined for greatness. Intellect, personality and talent out the wazoo, and I have been a fan of his from then and since. Of course Bartow county, what else for inspiration !
What a fun time. Thanks guys, and not just for this but for some great memories from your various works over the years. As the son of a postal employee of 30 years let me just say that my dad, rest in peace, had 3 favorite characters of his shows he would watch..... Archie Bunker, Cliff Claven, and Newman...... You put smiles on my dads face and for that i thank you again.

I always admired Wayne's acting ability on Seinfeld. So good, so smart, so funny, and one of a kind. The moment George asks him about what he does for a living is so great. Newman perks up with pride saying "I'm a United States Postal worker". Then when George asks about guys showing up and shooting up the post office, Newman with zero emotion and dead eyes replies "sometimes". Brilliant
Ok, so I clicked on this because I remember Wayne in Seinfeld, Third Rock from the Sun and Jurassic Park, so I had all intention to skip everything else and just scroll to those parts. DON'T DO IT! This interview is RIVETING! Loved every moment of it. Such great stories and chemistry between all three. Wonderful!
Wayne Knight was so good at playing Newman I don't know anyone who could stand him. When you can elicit that kind of dedication to an emotion you're a really good actor. I hope people see him in this interview and understand how utterly likeable him and Jason Alexander the actors playing them really are.
I remember when Jerry said, about Newman..."Actually there's LESS...MUCH less to Newman than meets the eye." The truth is the opposite. There is so much more to Wayne Knight than I ever could have imagined. This was a wonderful, joyous interview!
Wild to think that filming multiple takes of the shot of Newman running from the farm in the bottle delivery episode is what spurred a potentially life-saving visit to the doctor
"Third Rock from the Sun" is some of my favorite of Wayne Knight's work. I really wanted to hear about his time on that show and hope you guys have him back on again.
Really enjoyed this episode. Always loved Wayne’s Don, his character in Third Rock from the Sun. Amazing actor. And Jason Alexander, loved him in Shallow Hal and of course as George Costanza. Thank you.
He's lucky to play Sally Solomons boyfriend and Kristen Johnsons character was madly in love with Don. Wayne Knight was so lucky. I thought she was pretty.
Man did I ever get this guy wrong!!!! I always thought of Wayne Knight as kinda one dimensional. He’s not one dimensional he can do a wide variety of different things. He’s also very intelligent. I really liked this interview!
What a great interview! I’ve always enjoyed the both of them in Seinfeld (scene stealers in my opinion) and pretty much anything else they do. Great actors and it was nice to learn more about Wayne Knight
The planets had to be aligned more than once for these guys to pull off such outstanding cast. Wayne jumped on board on season 5, only to become iconic with the Newman character.

I loved Third Rock from the Sun, and Wayne Knight was fantastic in that. And I heard so many great things about how fun the cast of that show was. I wish they talked about his time on 3rd Rock a little more.
Love this podcast! Wayne Knight has aged the best...he looks amazing! His weight loss journey has inspired me. And I always thought Newman couldve been the 5th main chatacter.
To many, he's Newman. To ME (born in the 80s, too young to appreciate Seinfeld in the 90s)...he will FOREVER be Nedry. Thank you Wayne for being a part of my favorite film of all time and helping bring the book I love so much to life. Jurassic Park is part of the reason I became a paleontologist. Wayne Knight has such great stories and tells them well. What I loved about him on Seinfeld was that although he didn't have a lot of airtime he made the absolute most of his time and was always hilarious. Such excellent casting on that show.
