Onboard the M/V Mississippi

I was able to tour the boat while she was in Alton. Sorry I make drone videos lol and am very poor at this type of video but I wanted to try. The video begins at Mel Price Lock and Dam National Great Rivers Museum where you see the models of the American Beauty and the US Snag Boat Wright.

Thanks for the upload! I always wanted to see the interior on this boat. That engine room is crazy. I use to work on the M/V Keith Darling and that was a big ol' 9,000hp boat, and that engine room dwarfs ours. Those triple screws are crazy powerful. Is it a 10,500, or more? I bet it's damn near a 15,000hp boat. That meeting room alone looks like it has as much square footage as the entire first deck on my old boat.

The Mississippi is 6,000 boat 3606 the Keith truly is 10,000 Emd 20-710 turned down but it can push 40 loads like nothing

This huge boat to push a couple of work barges or dredges. Another example of government waste. A 700 horse power boat would be adequate for the work they perform.
