Super cool if I wasn't so adamant on using live steam my g scale sternwheeler would have already been running, right now it's just a hull and a deck cut and glued from 1/4 in plywood
I built ferry boat with interchangeable live steam, or electric powerplants, but the connection to the prop shaft is simple. It could be difficult to implement with a paddle wheel. I will publish a dual powerplant ferry video soon.
I scaled my boat approximately from photos of actual steam push boats and a model offered by Train Troll. My hull is 24 x 8 (half the size you plan) and my paddle wheel is 4 dia x 6. So I am thinking the 6 dia x 12 would work - although 8 dia x 12 would be closer to what I used.
Now I want a pond, just to try this! 😛This is awesome!
Great detail work. Loved how you made the opening windows and the super simple door construction.
That is awesome! Great Job!
Thanks!

really cool

love the video, would like to build this a little larger perhaps 46" X 16". what size paddlewheel would you suggest thinking 5X12 or 6X12.
