I have a question that’s really been hard to answer by myself…. Please don’t take this personally, what is the motive behind changing one’s gender? Have you felt like you were meant to be a man from the start of your life? Or was there a triggering event that made you feel this way?…….. anyways congrats to you and wish you all the best❤

@@Blueleg it's complicated I think for a lot of trans people. Maybe it's a mix for some, but gender dysphoria is when there is an incongruence between the sex you were born and the gender you identify with. Children as young as 3 begin to have a sense of gender and begin to identify with gender usually through basic things such as expression, clothing, hair, etc. But some even at that age already have a sense that something isn't right with their bodies too. It's a knowing. But, because of the lack of awareness, environments, familial and social influences, etc a lot of us, like myself, don't understand why we feel the way we do and don't feel comfortable talking about it. I knew I was a boy but it was made very clear to me back the , when I was very young, that that wasn't what was expected of me. I was allowed to self express to a point which I thank my mother for. But only to a point.
So, in short, for me I knew I was a boy. But couldn't talk about it. Especially when puberty hit, that's when the depression got real.
In terms of "motive behind changing one's gender"...just for language purposes I want to correct this phrasing for you to help add clarity if that's alright. I'm not changing my gender. I'm taking action to help my body match the gender I already am. I hope that makes more sense.
Thank you so much for your question and best wishes to you.
