I loved the in McClintock and The Quiet Man
McClintock was written especially for them. It is one of my go-to, feel good films.

They both got cancer from the test sites where the westerns were being filmed. Maureen was one of the only out of all the western actors to survive it.
She was one tough but beautiful Irish lady.
I don’t remember where I heard something about this. I had forgotten. So was this one movie that was made there? What kind of test site was it? I’m trying to figure how many people working on that land died and how many still alive. This kinda sounds like that place in Ohio with toxic spills.

Makes. Me cry. I'm young. But loved him n his voice. Always. When mom watched him and I'd be in another room I always knew it was him because of his voice that is what got me so much to be a favorite fan of his with love to him rest in peace

The Quiet Man was a perfect film in every way. One of my favorites.
Later in her career she had a great role as John Candys interfering Mom in
1991s 'Only the Lonely'.
My parents were both movie buffs. All of us kids caught the bug from them, all of our children have it now.
When I think of my parents now, it's these two actors that come to mind. Thank you.
John Wayne's real name was Marium Robert Morrison. He chose John Wayne over a recommendation from a Director to make his name easier to remember. Many Famous actors do this. They rarely use their real name in their professional life.
I don't care how many times I've seen them , I still watch at least one of their movies on the weekends. 👍👍 They'll be remembered for a long time.

John Wayne Agnes Morehead and quite a few actors got cancer from the movie the quaounreers in making it they brought in over 10000 tons of sand that was radio active in Utah from where they tested the nuclear bomb in testing it
Ummm, that might have contributed, but the 2-pack a day smoking habit for several years probably didn’t help either 😮.
We need to outlaw cigarettes and keep our heroes around longer. ❤
@@jowakayama1245 almost everyone(I think only two people from the entire cast and crew didn’t die from Cancer)who worked on that movie died of Cancer. That sand was heavily contaminated. They filmed on site, right in the hot zone and then had the contaminated sand shipped back to finish filming. It was windy and they ate and breathed in that radioactive sand. THAT Will Kill A Person. Even when the Government swears up and down that it’s perfectly Safe.
The lovely Susan Hayward was also in that film (it was actually called The Conqueror). She is believed to have contracted cancer too.
All time favorite co stars. These two in the marrying man were the best romantic comedy.

Touching Fact: as she lay dying, her Family was all around her and in the background they played the Soundtrack to The Quiet Man.

Out of everyone John Wayne worked with, man or woman, they worked the best, just 🤔...Just like a glove they fit together, it was actually hard to believe they weren't a couple in real life 🙏 RIP to both of these Legendary actor's ✝️

John Wayne, one of my favourite actors. I've got over eighty of his films on DVD including the all-star cast films. The Longest Day, How The West Was Won, and The Greatest Story Ever Told, also if it's classed as all-star cast The High And The Mighty as it has a lot of the biggest names of the day in the cast.
My mom loved him. My grandpa and 3 uncles played with him in a low grade movie called, The Horse Soldiers”. I don’t think it was much of a movie but those men had the time of their lives with the Duke.
My brother took me to the house where he was born. It’s a very small place but interesting.
True Grit was released June 11 1969. Duke died June 11 1979.
This was one of my favorites.
I would have given anything to meet this great man just once, he died when i was 7, but i own every movie he ever made. I still tear up today when i think of him at that final oscar awards, how much pain he went through but still walked on that stage to say goodbye. Yes maureen o'hara and the duke were a great team in every movie together. I still think something happened between them.

My father met John Wayne when he was in Houston, Texas about 1966 when the movie The Hellfighters was being made. My father worked as a bellman in the hotel where Mr. Wayne was staying (JW stayed in the penthouse). My father paid the server who was taking JW's dinner to him to take it instead. As a child of about 8 years old, my father showed us the Polaroid taken of him with Mr. Wayne. Mr. Wayne signed autograph pictures for each of us kids, reading, "Good Luck, (name), John Wayne". He was wearing a cowboy outfit and had a collie with him in the picture. John Wayne was a great guy for doing all that for my dad and us.

We met him when he was shooting the movie "McQ", 1975, in Washington state, took a photo of him with my wife, 4 years before he died, anyway he said he developed his cowboy persona/ character after Wyatt Earp who he met as a gofer on the sets in Hollywood as an extra, Earp was the technical advisor for the movies about cowboys, so he watched and studied Earps walk, talk, etc, ,so when you saw John Wayne it was a mirror of Earp.
Loved them in "The Quiet Man". Always wished they married in real life.

You know some of the more obscure ones that some people may not be familiar with until they see them. I'll just bet that would be a big hit since I've never seen anyone else do it before. I mean what do you have to lose and these gentlemen were all top-notch actors in their perspective villainous roles.

My favorite one every Saint Patrick's Day is The Quiet Man had watched a few of the movies a little bit ago. I could watch him all night long but I my body's got to get some sleep. That's a beautiful story. There's a lot of people that say a man and a woman cannot be true friends. Something about sexual tension and so on. Apparently these people never heard of self-discipline. And I believe that these two were proof of that. Throughout my life I've heard people say nothing but nice things about John Wayne. What a wonderful human being and a true gentleman he was. And what little I know about Maureen O'Hara, if John Wayne was her friend, you would have to believe that she was quite special too.
