This video was sitting in my Watch later list for like four months and I'm glad I finally came around to watch it. This might be the most comprehensive video on Godzilla games on the site, even if you didn't cover everything and what you say appears to be mostly your opinion (which mind you, is a good thing, I don't think stuff like this can really be classified as objectively good or bad), I think this is still a good guide for people looking for Goji games.
I appreciate the work that you put into making this video man because I for one found it so interesting. It's educational and amazing to see all the various games from the beginning. I don't see why one day we can't get a classic collection package like there is with Jurassic Park. I purchased the Godzilla DLC for Gigabash and that scratches that Godzilla itch a bit. I also downloaded the content for Dave The Diver that I haven't gotten to yet, but I love the looks of it from what I seen for the trailer that made me alone purchase the game that is fun. I hope one day we get a great Godzilla game and other than that keep getting the Godzilla appearances or even Easter eggs in other games that I think is cool.
It's surprising that they haven't tried to make a Godzilla action-adventure game where you play as a human. That's essentially what all the recent movies are. It would give them an opportunity to give it strong sense of scale and crazy set pieces
I'm pretty sure that in Godzilla The Great Monster Battle on SNES, if you hit the select button after picking a monster in two player fights, the CPU takes over the from the player. Either player one or two could change to the CPU. I think I even made two CPUs fight, been a minute since I played the game though.
Godzilla is green in Domination! only for the US port because godzilla 2000 was the most recent movie released there, where he was green. That is also why Mechagodzilla II is the rep for mecha, whereas in the JP port godzilla is charcoal and Mechagodzilla is represented by Kiryu
Theres Actually A Video Game Based on The NES Godzilla Creepypasta, and even if you don't care for the actual story itself, it's still a really good game 😁 It Fixes most of the issues with Mothra, she no longer gets pushed to the bottom of the screen, she also has a second attack which while draining energy it it is more effective than her normal attack, her wing attack was also fixed for the most part. It also fixed the issue with The inferno plane, and now only spawns in one level. They also fixed some of the obvious issues, neither you nor the boss heals up after battle, which makes it fair. sadly according to discord the game has a very high chance of being canceled 😔 and according to Wikipedia it stopped updating, you should definitely check it out if you're interested.
Godzilla on the PS4 is still my favorite as I want a 3D Godzilla simulator. I love fighting the military and destroying buildings more than arena brawlers.
I grew up with "The Moie Monster Game" which had (a licensed) Godzilla in it as well asa lots of other different random kaijus and a unique gameplay. I am mad that this one is not covered in this video
I recently played a bunch of the Godzilla games outside of the Pipeworks trilogy (I had only played those before) and I really liked Maximum Impact. Like you said it's not an amazing game or anything, but it was really fun and made my hour and a half long plane flight a breeze since I put them all on my Steam Deck.

Prior to your narration in the video, you literally had the webpage up showing you the release date of the game.
Godzilla 2 on NES is great.. has bits if depth all over.. some vehicles damage certain monsters more than others.. the Super X mirror decimates Baragon for example. In some scenarios you can find Mothras egg and use Mothra and the Larvae to fight for you etc etc..
They should make a Godzilla game in the same style as Shadow of the Colossus. You have to scale each monster to defeat them until you finally get to Godzilla.

And this was before I started collecting all of the different Aaron movies yes even including the shitty Americans zilla movie I didn't know any better I was young. And even though it was clunky as hell I had fond memories of unleashed for the Nintendo Wii as well. Also Rodan despite being a basic raptor/Pterodactyl thing was always my favorite monster I like speedy flyers
I would say Godzilla save the earth is the best Godzilla game. I think the previous game is better due to it being limited in it's combat, maps, and monsters.
Oh Unleashed...i love the game and stand by how amazing it could have been. But it just wasn't. Story had so much potential, so many great characters...
@@RubberSaiyan That is very true, just saying. Unleashed was my game when I was a young teen so I've spent way to much time thinking about it, and how good it ALMOST was. Obviously you didn't go in depth with it but the fact that each monster in the story mode has their own specific allies and rivals, unique maps, and more...it needed a lot of polish but the base game(with better controls obviously) could have been great.
It's a shame Godzilla Vs sucks. Cause that box art is sick and the game is stupidly expensive. So it's accidentally advertised to be a better game than it actually is from the box art and the price
@@lutherheggs451 You could also move in different directions in Godzilla save the earth. You just have to hold the left shoulder button and you can freely walk around without locking onto anything.
Frankly I'd rather play EDF. I have some friends who love Hell Divers and actually compare it to EDF so I'd say that's pretty valid to say. I don't have any plans to ever get a PS5 and I don't play games online so I'll never really know but I'd rather play EDF 6.
The Gigan & Megalon With One Health Bar fight in the Banpresto arcade game is in fact bullshit. I think i EVENTUALLY beat it but i know i couldnt beat the game. Really hated this one and the unrealistic moves.....why is Godzilla throwing nuclear pulses?
I get why you want to play as Godzilla in a Godzilla game, but I wonder why they never made a story driven game were you play as a (or several different) human(s)... Ok, the one at the end in the city is actually something like what I mean, even though it's somewhat different. I would have rather something with more drama and action more similar to a Godzilla movie.
Probably because it's a horrible idea from a gameplay standpoint. I don't want to just run from monsters; I want to be one and fight one. What can a human do?

I didn't mean a game where you just run away, but more like in the movies which are human dramas surrounding godzilla. So something more like an action adventure with story, cutscenes, action etc. Maybe with several characters (normal people, military etc., or just someone from the military if it's focus is only action) and also smaller monsters so you have something to do throughout the game and maybe even several kaiju which could be the endbosses and several encounters with godzilla. Some where you have to fight, some where you have to run away or hide. A mix between Dino Crisis and Uncharted in Japan set in the Godzilla universe or something like that (i don't mean that it has to be like these games but more so in terms of cinematics, story telling like uncharted and dindo crisis, to show that you can have a good gameplay with dinosaurs (or Kaiju)). But that also depends on the type of game. I think that wouldn't be to boring, but idk.

I had to use game genie to beat the original godzilla on the NES, I don't hate it but it was way too hard. The OST for it is low key a banger though.
