Instead of an entire anime remake, we could just get things like "Dragon Ball: The Path to Power" movies adapting arcs of Dragon Ball with better animation, and since it's movies, they would have better pacing, and it's less long then having to watch episode after episode after episode. animes with too many episodes is something people are willing to watch less and less as time goes on. so movie format would be better, 4 movies to adapt all of DB would be a great way for people to consume classic DB.

Godzilla’s inbred cousin, as stupid people call him. Is an amazing creature from a great film, unlike that horrible take on King Kong……. the Japanese did in the 60s. On that note…… I love Destroy all monsters, that game is absolutely fantastic. I spent hours, playing that with my brother and best friend as a kid. It’s what introduced me, to the Japanese Godzilla. I remember seeing, the new US Godzilla movie in the news paper. I was so excited, I wasted no time going to see it.

This video was sitting in my Watch later list for like four months and I'm glad I finally came around to watch it. This might be the most comprehensive video on Godzilla games on the site, even if you didn't cover everything and what you say appears to be mostly your opinion (which mind you, is a good thing, I don't think stuff like this can really be classified as objectively good or bad), I think this is still a good guide for people looking for Goji games.

Only thing i really disagree with is you saying people would have been okay with movie characters being dlc lol. I take it you weren’t in those comment sections because EVERY video before their reveal was filled with people begging for movie characters to be in the game. They for sure would have complained, because as you said before z is the more popular segment and the one most people think of when u say dragon ball

The original dragonball did air in. Its entirety on toonami alongside dragonball Z in the early 2000s please stop the cap. And also the original Dragonball did air in america before Z in 1996 but that particular run was cancelled after the first 13 episodes

Something that annoys me to no end. They announced an adventure game around the same time as Breath of the wild and instead of start with the adventure portion of the series, they go straight to Z…. AGAIN.

THe first time I watched DB, DBZ and DBGT and all of the movies was on Bootleg VHS tapes and computer Cds but even I know Original Dragon ball aired on Toonami from 2001 to 2003. Also I think u are getting your history confused because Original Dragon Ball aired on American tv first in 1989 to 1990 now they didn't finish the series back then but it aired on tv first before DBZ aired on American tv. DBZ first aired on American tv in 1996 and that when it blew up but the bottom line is OGDB aired first but it got canceled! Also Toonami showed it in its entirety on tv from 2001-2003. Wasn't watching the english DUb of DB back then and I know this! Google is your friend!

Goku uses Ki in Daima and he can fly! He just has to learn how to use it in a smaller body. They did that so he wouldn't just steam roll his way through the Demon Realm. Also the only people who disrespect the original DB is Funimation or whatever they call themselves now Crunchyroll or something! Also goku in Daima acts like Adult DBZ Goku the only thing people complain about are the jokes they give him! He doesn't act like Original Dragon Ball Goku. He acts like DBZ Goku in a child body! DBGT was TRASH no amount of nostalgia was going to save that garbage Also Ultra Instinct is a transformation and a tech!

I’m from Germany and here, the og aired before Z and I grew up watching og as a kid. I fully understand why people wouldn’t want to go back to it after watching Z. it is very different in tone and writing. It suffers from the same issue that plagues every show, where the first season is always weird since they didn’t know what to do with the show yet. It does feel very aimless at times. most people don’t even want to watch it, they only watch it to get the plot points down. So, coupling that with aimless writing is not optimal. Despite what you said, Goku doesn’t change much as a character either. It is very much a comedy anime first with a loose plot. I appreciate it for what it did, but I’m not sure I would go back and watch it if I didn’t already know what happens. If I would start it right now, I knew what to look forward to. If I didn’t know, id keep wondering where the story is going, not because of intrigue, but because there is no clear goal. The og is written in a “and then they did this, and then they did this, and then they did this” kind of way rather than Zs “this happened because this happened and this caused that” only towards the end is the plot taken more serious by the show. and i mean that in a way where characters themselves care about what happens, not about tone or anything.

I can't remember why I know this, but the metal stunts his growth too. If he didn't have the metals he would be similar to the hulk but with claws and beastmode.

According to Geekdom101, Toriyama's plan before his death was to use Daima to set up story elements to be brought back after End of Z. Even in Japan, Dragonball was not that popular until the first tournament arc. Toriyama has always wanted to do more comedy than the fandom wanted. OG DB outright failed twice in America, so I'm not sure what they were supposed to do except try to start with Z

I have watched every dragon ball series, og db included. I loved watching them all. I gotta admit tho man, I think it's fine not everyone seeing og (at least kids and chicks, it was way too sus at times. The begging at that ! ) my girl is gonna watch it with me for her first time as we are with Naruto (I've finished both) and I would not blame her if she gets up said about the db bulma stuff and puts the show down. Z+ is fine for this reason. I don't get how db tubers can act like this wasn't way too much.

I mean Daima Goku isn't acting like a child, he's acting like Goku from after the Buu saga.. who regressed and started acting like a child again by that point in the story. It's actually brought back many points of characterization that were previously forgotten about or, in the case of super, blatantly disregarded, such as his instinctual hatred of injustice and his wisdom gained throughout DB.

You hit the nail perfectly , with how they’ve just the 10 years after Z before Uub time break , as a crutch , they need to stop with that hopefully , it does feel like dragon ball just does not want to move forward it’s stuck in this wierd point

That “We” feels pretty loaded. *I* don’t really care about Goku training Uub. I would rather focus on Gohan writing that book he wrote in the Online/Xenoverse timeline. They seem to be moving him in that direction based on Super Heroes. But no, I dramatically don’t care about Uub. I think of him as a symbol before I think about his as a character. Do you know what my favorite scene of Uub is? It’s not in GT. It’s not even End of Z, I actually found him annoying there and would have rather seen more of Pan. No, my favorite Uub scene is in the Moro arc when he shows up for one panel, feeds Goku some spirit juice, then fucked off back home. Not a word spoken then banished to End of Z.

To be fair I have seen people start watching Dragon ball from the actual start since Toryiama's passing. My own problems with Super have nothing to do with the comedy as well I love adventure plots too. The biggest problem being the way Goku is treated, even in Z's dub he still retains his goofy and upbeat personaility but he was'nt oblivious or ignorant to everyone around him. Even as a kid he was never like that, he knew when to take things seriously. Daima has balanced him out again which is why I'm liking it so much and it's reminding us that oh yeah he's an experienced martial arts fighter who's able to adapt on his feet extremely well.

There really isn't a good reason *not* to watch the original DB. Especially given certain...ways you can watch entire arcs at once even on this very site.

One of the silver linings of a Dragon Ball Remake is that they'll adapt it into one full series instead of making it seem like OG DB and DBZ are two separate series.

I think the main issue here is how Z overshadowed everything else so much in popularity and in marketing that it comes across to many people like it's the main part of the franchise when really it's only a continuation and in a way a sequel. Maybe in another reality if they just called it as it is in the manga, Dragon Ball from chapter 1 with Goku in Mt Paozu to meeting Uub people would watch the story properly. I honestly can't think of too many stories where people dismiss the first part of a whole story so much, first one that comes to mind is the Terminator. Not to mention OGDB is the peak of the franchise in terms of Toriyama's talent as a mangaka

GT IS CANON TO THE Z ANIME

Dragon Ball is literally just like Star Wars, not the Fact that these were 2 Iconic Franchises, it's because the Problem these 2 have something that's similarly in Common is they don't Advance their Timelines, Dragon Ball is stuck in the Post-Majin Buu Saga and refuses to move past the End of Z Arc, while there is a lot of Breathing Room in the 10 Year Gap for Stories and Adventures to explore, but would it be a better Idea to just have the Characters grow up in a eventual Post-EOZ Era (Goten & Trunks), Star Wars in terms of the Video Game and Animation Departments, it's also stuck in the Post-Clone Wars/ROTS Era, while sure there is a huge Time Gap that is left open for any Interpretation, but how many more Shoe-Horns are they gonna keep Adding into Pre-A New Hope Era, there's a lot of Potential to make any Creative Freedom in Post-Return of the Jedi Era but instead only the Live Action Department çan do that (just feels Unfair).

Its should be about time they go passed End of Z because it just feels the series has been in state of stagnation. And though Daima has been fine so far, it's definitely not push the franchise forward.

4:55 This contradiction is the fault of Toei Animation and the FUNimation English Dub of Z. The English dub made a lot of changes which made Goku, a Superman type character in the English dub. Although I am aware the parallels existed in the original Japanese version but the English Dub made that the prime personality of Goku in DBZ.

As for the writing and story, the OG Dragonball is the best. The plot is easy to follow and everything that Goku learns throughout the show is payed off in the final arc. The major issues with the OG Dragon Ball will be the weird sexual humor that is meant for jokes but in today's polarized political climate especially in the US, it would immediately be cancelled or draw heavy criticism. They would have to Censor the show heavily if they plan to release a remastered version.

I completely agree with you. I think OG DragonBall is so much better than Super and GT that it's not even funny. I thought DragonballZ jumped the shark with transformations when Trunks and Goten went SSJ for no reason, so you can imagine what I think of Super. I HATE that all the dlc planned for Sparking Zero is DBS:SH and Daima related and not OG DragonBall. Modern fans only care about dumb transformations with lazy recolors and have no respect for the roots of the series. It's maddening. OG DragonBall is so under appreciated. Most of it is just as good as Z. It deserves better. A remake, instead of Daima would have been amazing.

Db needs to end sooner or later to a conclusion. But there’s also so much more ideas to explore.

I always wanted a movie or a mini series focusing on pre dragon ball earth. Young roshi or a young gohan in a post piccolo world. King chappa dominating the tournament, roshi's bout against gohan in the finals.

Just cus it was made by toriyama deosn‘t automatically mean it‘s good. Just cus it‘s a callback, doesn‘t make it good either. That said, Super brainrot did that to itself, attracting an adhd zoomer fanbase that shuts off if there isn‘t constant bright colors flashbanging the screen, these people don‘t give it a chance no matter if it does or doesn‘t suck in the end.

1st. Daima is a big combo of everythin Tori has worked on. From Rpgs like DQ or CT. To other manga like Sandland & a combo of every era of DB. 2nd. It's made to bring new fans in. The intro where they mention goku & his history is literally to get new young fans who've never seen DB up to speed. This is y it originally was supposed to be a streamin series only cus most younger ppl watch stuff on stream rather than cable Tv. They stated this 3rd. The reason Goku isn't as chubby as before is simply due to the fact that Tori prefers to draw him that way these days. It's his current artstyle since it's easier than wut he did before. Tori wanted the characters to be that way for his own reasons so that's how it is. He clearly wanted to jus do a fun thing wit this series & have another fun adventure story so that's wut he did.
