I've been a fan of Blonde Redhead for coming up to 20 years now. It really makes me happy to see people, years younger than me, discovering them for the first time at roughly the same age I was. They helped me get through some tough times and hope they do you too.

I have a long time imagine the peaceful time when we could lay down on the grass, wacthing the dark sky howling unhearable wind in the middle of the day. Then you start asking me about my view of this world, and then I smile, I say "This world is beautiful, but only with such pain".
Saw them live when they opened for Tool the other night. First time hearing their music and I see why Tool chose them. They have a unique sound and her voice is absolutely enchanting. It was so cool hearing their music for the first time live like that. I wish I knew the songs they played I want to hear them. And they sound better live all the sounds and nuances are not detected as well on this version.
Found this video a few months ago, after searching for the Rick and morty meme. This was suggested, and Blonde Redhead have been one of my favourite bands since. I love everything about this video, I love the camera, the art of it, the way it fits the haunting, beautiful eeriness of the song so well. It saddens me I’d not discovered them sooner, to be honest.
I remember listening this album on my cd player, sitting on a bench at the station, when it came out...it was mesmerizing! Everything around me was suspended...
Discovered this, truly one of the greatest bands in the world during the early 21st century, back in 2007. Man did they strongly color my Halloween with mood that year! I can never forget that, bc no other music I've heard before or since casts quite as strong a mood as this music...
I found this on my dads phone when i was about 6 or 7. I thought the song was a little weird and confusing. Well. Its a masterpeice i just wasnt old enough to reliaze
I guess the song is about a girl returning to her lover who she thought didn't love her, but I don't get what it could mean by writing and reading as metaphors.
This album is themed around the accident Kazu Makino (the singer) had the year before the album was released. She's a huge horse person and her horse threw her off and trampeled over her. She had huge parts of her face destroyed and had suffered brain damage. She had to relearn singing and had cosmetic surgery to restore her face, but she afterwards suffered from derealization and depersonalization. My guess is that this song is about her trying to start horseriding again and redeveloping trust into the animals.
I think, in my opinion, that she's trying to move on after getting burned by a love of some kind. She learned the lesson that love can be truly hurtful and traumatizing. She can't trust as easily and feels like it has become a complete foreign language to her. She knows the beautiful feelings that can come from love , maybe like she has felt in the past, but it feels so distant and she cannot seem to bridge the gap anymore due to her fear of getting hurt. Eventhough Blonde Redhead mostly talk about different facets of love (romantically) , there are definitely also many, many connections between this song's/album's theme and her horse accident. Additionally, to me, this song specifically utilizes the old adage, "if you fall of the horse, get back on and try again" . She has been scarred terribly by the "betrayal" by her horse and is trying to reignite her passion and the feelings she used to get from that close relationship and bond. I remember hearing how awful that whole accident was like 15years ago. So intense. Thank god she survived.
I’ve always thought it as a mother receiving notes from her murderous daughter, and saddened and disgusted by what she’s become. Metaphorically though I’m not sure.
I have taken the lyrics for this song to be about music, or an inner (Pied Piper) melody that leads anyone to do something. How it can help us or hurt us. Sam Harris talks about free will and it makes me think of this song... Anyway What a beautiful album Happy day

Yup! Rick & Morty caused me to go on a Blonde Redhead binge after making me rediscover all that forgotten or hidden early '00s wannabe 'tragic tortured artiste' avant-garde teenage angst lmao. Now back to Elephant Woman to really bring me back to being 17 and heartbroken again. Weird af jumping off point for this kind of binge, and tbh I'm not even sure I wanted to revisit the majority of the songs I've sought out now... But hey, it's 2019 and here I am! Feelin' all the feels, kinda loving it, kinda hating myself for it haha. Great tracks though. Even holding up well to my 30yr old non-heartbroken-and-hormonal self.
Wow I've been listening to this band for like 15 years and never seen this video - this is def shot in Spain and I want to say Segovia and I think that's the tomb(the giant cross) of Francisco Franco, former dictator. I remember passing it on my way out to Segovia on a bus when I lived there...
This feels nostalgic even though i just found this song. Guess im late now.

One of my favorite Blonde Redhead songs of all time. This melody (!!) always lingers in my head.
Lol, same. There's a dozen songs that have been playing in my head since the late 90s and early 2000s. This is one of the them
