My wife and I can relate to your move to Florida! We moved to Jacksonville from Wisconsin and for 4 months now we just love it. 80 degrees in Feb. For me I don't need as many clothes in my wardrobe as I did up north and the cost of living is far much better!

Hi Elle Kos! I love both of your channels! I believe people are brought into your life for a reason! I booked a cruise and ran across you guys after looking for tips and I've been obsessed with your videos ever since! Prior to booking the cruise, my husband came to me about moving our family to Florida. He can definitely have more success in his line of work in Florida. Growing up in New Orleans, there was only one place that had more hurricanes than New Orleans, FLORIDA!!! So moving there was not an option for me! However after watching your videos and seeing how supportive you are and seeing the dynamic between you two, it made me reconsider. I really thank you for allowing me to rethink my situation and give Florida a second look! We'll be moving there at the end of the year!

I live in Tampa area. When it comes to weather depends on where you are in Florida. Northern Florida looks like Georgia, south Florida is subtropical.
It rains a lot during summer. Best weather starts around October and it goes until March or so.
You will get to love Florida. A lot of things to do.
I have children and they love Disney World and Universal.
Beaches are great, summer is hot anywhere in the US so I don’t know why people complain about the heat during summer haha.
We complain bc that's all we have here...hot, hot and not so hot.
South Florida is tropical not sub tropical
North Florida is sub tropical while south Florida is tropical
so glad I found your channel, we're moving later this year to Clearwater....all the way from the wet & windy UK...frightening, but we are so determined to live a more relaxed outdoor life...thank you and Bless you both.

I've been thinking of moving to Florida for a few years. I live in the burbs, 20 min outside of Chicago. After I got off work yesterday 02/05/18, it took me 4hrs to get home through the snow & traffic, I was exhausted and ticked off. I'm so happy for you guys, I'm praying things change so I can get the heck out of the midwest.
My best friend lived there as a child. I lived in Mississippi as a child. The heat in summer is something else. You walk out the door from your ac house and it takes your breath, like an elephant on your chest. Lol I'm staying in Connecticut. Snow bird works for me.
This is the video that inspires me most about moving down to Florida once I retire in 2 years. I lived there back during the 90's, in Miami. Have family in Miami and Sarasota. I'm looking towards somewhere like Orlando. Love the city life. You two guys are so honest and laid back. Thanks so much for this inspiring video.

I am so happy to see that you guys are loving my state. I miss it so much. It is funny you say that you notice the d. ifference between the two sides. Your assessment would be correct, but you have got to venture in the area North and Northwest of the state. You will definitely be in the "country". I truly love hearing that you guys love it there. I'm from a town West of Daytona. My bestie is from Detroit, she does not like the weather down South😄.

Hey guys, well this is a warm winter this year. I am your neighbor in Tampa. Let me tell you, it has been in the 30's and even in 20's before. people are surprised to learn that we can get such cold weather. our schools here are in spring break earlier than up north, we usually are 3 weeks in break before them.

Moved to Florida about 15 years ago, one thing you learn quick is it stays hot. It's a weather trade, I definitely don't miss the snow. You guy's are correct, the traffic is can heavy at times. But all in all, I enjoy living in Florida, it's a beautiful state.

With snow birds they clog up traffic from oct thru April. Spring breakers clog up the beaches two months. Usually you can get from Tampa to Clearwater Beach in an hour or less....during the break it can take 3 hours or more...one way.

So glad you guys are happy there! I would love to move down south but my husband worries about leaving his family and job behind, and we both worry about the threat of hurricanes. We live in southern coastal Maine, a 5 min drive to the beach, but in the summertime it's so overrun with tourists, its crazy! I hate the snow, which is why I want to move south.... maybe someday....

I’m a 1st generation New Yorker born and raised, but I have Southern roots. South Carolina on one side and Alabama on the other. I grew up listening to Southern accents and was raised with Southern hospitality. I’m OVER living in NYC because winter is depressing . We just had a snow storm yesterday....I visited FL for a month recently, my friend lives on the Atlantic coast. I enjoyed it but I’m considering Texas or South Carolina as well...Thanks for sharing!
I’ve lived in Florida since the 70’s. I’ve lived all over the state. The trick to visiting the tourist areas are really easy. Never visit Orlando in “season”. That means, the colder it is up North, the busier the roads are. The season lasts from Thanksgiving thru Easter week. Because you live near the beach you have to deal with the tourists. I live on the other coast about 40 minutes from the ocean, and no where near any attractions. We have very little traffic even during the busy season. It’s all about choices you make. On another note, the longer you’re here, the more your blood thins. After a while, the 60’s will seem chilly. I’m glad you love Florida. Eventually you’ll find the exact lifestyle and area your most comfortable in.
My wife and I are making the big move from SoCal to Bradenton, Fl. in August.....can't wait!

Momma lives on gulf side love the gulf I was blessed to be raised to where we can enjoy a more spoiled location than the busy tourists beaches.
my parents live in Florida now and I always grow up and countries and stuff and it's peaceful it's different to where are yam and this very sweet the people over there a nice you know it's different from where I am
Ive noticed the gulf side is more like the midwest and the atlantic side is more like NY/East coast.....way more laid back and friendly on the gulf side

I lived in Ft. Myers, FL the first 18 years of my life before moving to the Kentucky/Indiana area about 10 years ago. There are times I miss SWFL, but I can definitely say I dont miss the constant heat & humidity, and crazy traffic/tourists/snowbirds. Lol. I do miss the lack of state income tax and being so close to the beach and Publix, though! Haha. Definitely look out for those spring breakers! 😂
Take a trip to Busch Gardens some time. You can get an annual pass for the price of one day admission as a FL resident (or at least you used to be able to). Super Bowl Sunday is usually a great time to visit theme parks with little crowds. 😉
Also try to visit the natural springs near Homosassa. (the state park/wildlife park there is also a MUST SEE!) The springs in that area are beautiful and you can go out in a boat or kayak and see tons of manatees! You can even hop in the water and swim with them. Lots of fun. 😊

I used to live on Anna Maria island and then North Port. Absolutely loved it. Had to come back to Oklahoma for a few years for family but I'm moving back to Tampa in July 2018. I'm going down next spring to set up my relocation. I'm so happy to be moving back. This winter dry heat crap is for crazy people and the birds. Maybe I'll see you when I get down. HI its been really refreshing to watch your videos, I really do get what you're saying about the weather, I'm originally from London UK and left everything I knew to relocate to the U.S, I'm now living in Pittsburgh from New York City, been here for 11 years, Now I'm really want to mack that move to Tampa, I've just got married in April and my husband is living in Jamaica and I'm waiting for him to join me either here or in Florida, its probably going to tack me some time, so in the meantime I will be doing the leg work myself. so I was wondering can you give me any advise on this? as my mind feels as though its scramble, love love your energy so keep up the good work, thank you,

OK, guy's, you left city living and moved to the country living on the gulf side, which you love, but you want to get back to city living on the Atlantic side. LOL! I've got friends on both sides and they each think their side is the better side. WOW, I would like to relocate to Florida, as well, but I'm retired and not really looking forward to dealing with so much traffic, so I guess I need to find a city a lot less touristy. Where else in Florida would either of you recommend? HELP! I'm in California now living in a beach town, and beginning to feel a bit burnt out. However, I do enjoy coastal living. The Tampa Bay area has some horrible traffic, especially going into I4 from there
Moved to north Florida in 2010 from New England. Here is my list of pros: good seafood, fresh fruits and veggies, lower property taxes than NE, six months or so of great weather, good fishing,year round golfing, mostly friendly people, and the beach. My cons: insects, snakes,spiders,ants, cockroaches,traffic, development/growth, high utility bills, high food costs, drug crimes,vagrants,low paying jobs, months of really hot and humid weather, hurricanes, rude drivers, fees and taxes, riptides, exorbitant building costs and petty criminals. Time to sell and go back home.

The one question that I have is about the temperature of the water at the beach is on the gulf Side can you give me water temperatures proximately because I actually like to go in the water so if the water is too cool that’s not gonna be good for me

Hey!! Great video yall! Loved this video compared to other videos regarding Florida. I've heard so many negative things about Florida but love yall energy and positive feedback relating to Florida. My hubby and I are interested in moving from VA to FL. We are formally from New York and when we moved to VA things were soooooo different. We hate living here and really wanna move further South. I know alot of folks from the North, move to FL, which I like, we wouldn't feel out of place as we do now, living in South Virginia. We feel so out of place. It's a huge culture shock, No diversity! My husband is Spanish and I am black. It's been difficult fitting in and trying to find employment. This state is so backwards. I've heard good things about Tampa. Any great neighborhoods or towns you can recommend? We wanna live in a safe area. What about the traffic? I know you guys mentioned it's not the best especially when tourists come. I am not one for traffic. Any more laid back towns in Tampa or outside of Tampa you can recommend? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!! Than you so much

I just stumbled upon your vlogs and I've just recently started a 1-2 year plan to relocate from the Windy City Chicago to Florida. I've been a resident of Chicago all my life and am so sick of the brutal cold winters and now I'm really considering the uproot to Florida. I'm giving myself a 1-2 year plan to save and map out location in which I want to live. I more focusing on the Orlando area and after going through your vlogs have noticed that in one of your comments you've mentioned that you all just recently moved from Tampa to Celebration (Orlando area). I'm looking into Davenport, Championsgate and Clermont area. As of now I'm not particularly wanting to buy a Florida home, more or less want to either do a long-term yearly rental vacation home, condo or townhouse until I know how well I would adjust to Florida living. Although I'm not against it either, my options are fairly open. Any tips or information you can throw my way would be helpful as well. I work in the Corporate America field so I need to find a location where commuting to the downtown Orlando which I'm told is not a bad commute.
Could you give me some insight on how well you like the new area since you've now relocated to the Orlando area? Any information that you could share would be extremely helpful. I'm pretty much just doing some major research while also trying to be thorough on what will work best for me.
I know you feel my pain from being a resident of my neighboring state of Michigan.

Hello my husband and I are talking about relocating out of Ohio. We would love to move to Fla but it's so expensive down there compared to here. We pay 500 rent for 2 bedroom duplex plus gas and electric. Down there it's close too 1k month. E are looking in or around Tampa Bay Area but it's scary to see housing is double lol
My wife and I would like to buy a house south of the Tampa area, and have it as a home to vacation at and maybe retire in one day. We'd like for our parents to find it as a place to stay at from time-to-time, as they choose to vacation, or live in.
But, we have concerns around the Tampa area for it being known for sinkholes, flooding from hurricane and tropical storms.
How did you go about your home search with those in mind?
And is the city doing any big plans to address sea level rise concerns?

Elle Kos We saw a couple of panthers in Lee County, you will see warning signs in certain areas. The one bear we saw was in central Florida near the big farming areas, it had been hit by a car. See gators alot, one lives in the canal behind my father in laws house.
We are living in NY at present but we are retired & tired of shoveling snow...

I thought I would love it in Florida i been here for 15 years the first two years are great and then you realize there's no winner it is just hot day and night winter and summer and the pay down here is about half. Most people end up moving back up north in about 5 to 10 years my suggestion if you're thinking about moving to Florida come down and visit July and August and drive around in the neighborhoods you won't see a soul outside everybody says it's Paradise but they stay inside I guess it's a great place for couch potatoes in the AC

I think the Atlantic side has more to do....more city .No where to move there .Maybe Broward county. Now that you are in Florida, especially when you move to the Atlantic side,you are close and can visit the Caribbean, and Costa Rica;which is a beautiful, warm country.

another thing weird about this area,,, you'll see animal that you would have never thought to be in this area... in my neighborhood I have male and female peacocks. there are also deer, wild boar, chickens although ybor, and I have even seen little red fox in tampa. Not to mention the panthers

wages: lower than in the rest of the country, and the unaffordability of housing and the cost of living.
Weather: FL is to hot!!

Flash forward 11 months later and we took our house off the market after only 2 months of it being For Sale. Just did not feel right.
We also just recently had our 3rd child this past Feb. So we are not going anywhere soon lol.
Still love FL and someday we will be there but CT really isn’t that bad if you can get past the cold. I happen to love snow and so do my kids but my wife not so much. What I hate is NO Snow and Cold (like right now! I wish Spring would get here!!!)

Hi I just happen to stumble upon you while watching another u tuber who also relocated you inspire me so much I can't wait to move my older children tell me yuk to Florida but when I'm there it feels like home and when I leave to come back up north where I live I cry Florida is my happy place I'm just miserable living here def. time for a change I'm ready to go.
Shari Blossom I too feel at home in FL & cry on the way home! I do love PA, it's safe & pretty where we live but we are sick of winter. Considering a move to the east coast of FL within next couple of years.
I'm goin there on vacation in a few weeks :) am hoping to look around as I'm done with my life here in Boston I'm opening a new chapter and yes the winters here are brutal now just have to figure out the best place to live as I'll prob be moving solo.
