Greetings! Just for clarification, I'm aware that Quadros have always technically been able to run games, saying they don't work isn't true. I know the A5000 is the same GA104 GPU as the RTX 3080 and that's been the case historically for all Quadros relative to GeForce lines. I know Quadros are significantly underclocked for a number of reasons and don't benefit from game ready drivers, when they under perform in games those are the reasons used to explain that. I would have discussed that in here but it would added several unecessary minutes to the content. Personally, I found it very interesting that despite the historical reasons used to explain why they're no good for gaming, this actually is. I also never suggested anyone buys one of these as a gaming system... it's terrible value for that, this is for the benefit of those who end up with one for work and have an interest in knowing about this info.
An RTX 3870 AND a stock HP A6313W was the best of the best for the price, I thought crysis was lame and just skipped it. My last phone was twice as powerful as my gaming computer im speaking of, the phone I'm typing on is 3 times as powerful.
Hello Please i need some help. I'm planning on buying either 3080ti mobile or A5000 mobile for roop . I've found 2 laptops, but the A5000 is cheaper than the 3080ti. Please advise me which is the best gpu for deepface or programs like roop unleashed.
Dell seems to be aware of this type of use case as well, now that the 7560 and 7760 can be ordered through Dell Premier with a RTX 3080 mobile at a significantly lower price than the A5000 mobile.
For the 35 year old guy who wants to game but doesn't want to looks obnoxious will doing it, this thing looks booooring as he'll, no eyes would be upon it, perfect for a low profile situation.
I work in Engineering so I only use my PCs for CAD & engineering stuff. But my high school son is a gamer and has an RTX2080Ti and for comparison ran his games on my Quadro P4000 128GB RAM Threadripper workstation that I use for large thermal simulations of semiconductor lasers and tells me there is no material or noticeable difference in game performance. Maybe some test software can tell the difference, but is not really perceptible to an experienced gamer.
The Dell Mobile Workstation is a beast. My work laptop is a 7560 with 32GB, i9 and an RTX A4000. It chomps through any task I throw at it. 💻 Gaming and engineering are very different use cases, hence the Ge-Force and Quadros being different. That A5000 though!! Awesome.
Great video! Been gaming on an A6000 on the weekends for a while now as i got it in my workstation and honestly im pretty impressed that I can do all my work during the week and at night i can load up Forza Horizon 5 and play 4k max settings at a locked 60fps.
I always gamed on my work desktop during lunch. Would usually have people stop to watch as they pass through the office while I play Outriders and smash enemies, or blowing holes in walls with Rainbow 6: Siege. Nice to know can play games at a decent level on a work PC. My laptop I really just use to keep up with Final Fantasy using a P4000 in both my desktop and laptop.
Interesting stuff. I understand this is quite the niche but for contractors or those that have control over their workstations and need "Quadro" for support or reliability to both work and game this is invaluable. Mad to see where tech is at on Quadro mobile at its peak. Currently in the process of water-cooling an RTX A4000 which is also very niche. With the ultimate goal I think everyone shares which is packing as much power into as small a package as possible for portability its good to know real world experience / frame rates on certain products. We all know gaming through Quadro instead of GeForce is generally less value for money. But during the GPU shortage where these not only are relevant for the niche but also for anyone looking for similar performance comparisons to a card not available, this is awesome! Good stuff!
Neil, If the budget is not an issue, give and advice on the best work station I can get my hands on. No gaming just production of cad 3D, graphical stuff and an all arounder to move my business from office to home on a daily basis. Lenovo P1 gen 4 and this dell u have here look interesting, love to hear your thoughts mate. Rgds Ronny
These days quadro cards clock speed even isn't that much lower then that of geforce cards and yes their drivers might not be optimised for games however they still are very much capable of running games perhaps at a slightly lower fps but we are talking a few percent, the main reason you wouldn't buy a quadro for gaming is that they are far more expensive so it doesn't make much sense to buy it for gaming however if you own one because you use it professionally and just want to game in your free time then absolutely you can near the performance of its geforce counterpart
Do you know where I can find the right drivers for an rtx A4000 gpu on my precision 7760? I downloaded the "Studio" Nvidia drivers but the FPS I'm getting on simple games is still terrible

Precision 7740 works fine for me too (just I do total war games), with a rtx quadro 3000. More then good enough for some gaming after work.
Do games stutter?

Also consider HP ZBook Fury 17 or HP Omen 17t with 330 watt power supply.
